I hear that. It's been too long.
Conviction got some hate but I loved it, thought it was bloody awesome. I didn't play the last one.

10/10Digital Foundry just shot themselves in the foot.
I don't know how much the rest of you know about pixel counting culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in IGN where you can become successful by being a shill. If you screw someone over on pixel counting, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the image quality enthusiast public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Scorpio, nor will they ever trust Digital Foundry again. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Digital Foundry has alienated an entire reader base with this move.
Digital Foundry, publicly apologize and cancel the piece on Scorpio or you can kiss your business goodbye.
They had a splinter cell like game in development before they threw it in the dumpster to make Gears of War forever.O_O
Don't do this to me Major. I want another Splinter Cell. Beast of an Xbox and Splinter Cell is back. Too good.

We're talking about unreleased hardware, if DF shuts down hype about it in the slightest, you bet MS won't be happy

I don't think the post is being interpreted in the way I was thinking when I wrote it. Basically, I am saying that:
- MS thought DF would be a good partner to reveal the specs
- DF thought it would be a great story
Simple as that, no shadiness intended. Going on, I wanted to express that:
- Fanboys are going to be distrustful of this
- Fanboys in the future will bring it up when their platform loses head-to-heads. Stupid, sure, but you know some of them will try it.
- MS and DF should have expected that reaction from some people, warranted or not

All this was just fields then.Aahhhhh. That explains the Sony vs Digital Foundry case of 2007.

Fanboys and console warriors will always make up things to deal with their insecurities. Most people are smart enough to ignore them.

Hype ruined. Microsoft is probably paying off Sam Fisher as well.

It would be interesting if MS were trying to recapture the spirit of the OG Xbox with Scorpio: cult Japanese exclusives, new PGR, exclusive Splinter Cell, etc. I doubt it though.
-DF have now had their integrity ruined because they agreed to do a technical analysis of a console
-if DF says anything bad, they can be sued for harming the product
-If DF says anything good, it's tainted by the unholy M$ monies
-Sony fans can use this opportunity to gather mistrust bullets and fire them into the chaotic frenzy of scandal and lies
IM GONNA ORGANISE WITH MY NEIGHBOURS AND FIGHT THE GLOBALISTS, WE KNOW WERE UNDER ATTACK, WE KNOW IT
I am dying.... Send help please.

Haha. Bet you can't wait for Thursday as well! This thread has been an emotional roller-coaster.
Yeah it's a pretty huge part of the SoC. But with the rumor of an LED outside of the devkits I suspect they managed to implement a water cooling solution.

Say what you like about DF, the fact Microsoft are revealing detailed technical specifications through a team of people who have historically scrutinized everything shows a lot of confidence.
I'm more convinced than ever that this 'new' console will be pushing some serious numbers.
Leadbetter has a lot of contacts within MS. I'm sure it'll be him. What if it's only Dave though?
I can see where MS is going with this, and on the surface it looks like a good idea, but they seem to constantly forget that everything they do is constantly met with the greatest suspicion of sinister motives. As a result MS and DF should have expected lots of accusations of bias or payola or whatever. MS probably thought "DF is trusted and we think we have a technical winner here, it will be more believable coming from them." and DF thought "This will drive clicks like nobody's business, plus we'd really like to get our hands on Scorpio from a tech-angle". But in the end it's just going to end up hurting DF in some people's eyes and those same people won't believe DF's commentary on Scorpio any more than they would have an MS suit.
Sony fans should be happy about this news if anything. This exclusive and the accompanying distrust it brings will give them ammo to invalidate the results of any head-to-heads that Sony may lose in the months following Scorpio's release.

PLEASE be a hint at either OG Xbox BC/ports or a new Splinter Cell. I'm not sure which one id like more.
So it's about ethics in tech specs?
Okay then.
