Watch_Dogs |OT| PS4 would probably melt trying to do this

Really hope this is 360 cuz them roads are completely barren. Geez

All of the Twitch streams are. They are JTag copies. There was one PS4 stream earlier this morning but it got hit down rather quickly, but from a quick look I got it was much better than what we are seeing here. That is something I am okay with, and it seem Ubisoft tried their best with giving last-gen a good enough game buts it clear Watch Dogs is built for new-gen/PC what with features like in-car cam missing from X360/PS3.

Willing to be wrong, but based on the ped density and especially the draw in distance, that's most likely 360.

It's definitely 360. Framerate doesn't look that hot, tons of pop up and shimmering (aliasing). But again, maybe the video isn't encoded well. There is no way that's next-gen :).

I can't remember..does BBY normally get things shipped on release day to your home? Debating picking up versus shipping. And my store never lists if they are doing midnight releases.

I thought it was the other way around. Watching the ps4 stream it didn't look that much better than the 360. Maybe the compression is really hiding it.

Opens random stream and game is full pf NPC and vehicles.
The amount of shit this game is getting is unreal, like the post quoted above.

If he's watching the one I'm watching, he's not lying, though funny enough shortly after it was posted there was about 5 NPC cars that spawned (5x more than I've seen in the past hour). Though I have plenty ghost lights in the background.

We'll see after the game is widely released if this is just a rare occurrence, but there really is an issue with vehicle spawning in the stream I'm watching. I've had it playing for a few hours and have seen maybe 15 total NPC vehicles. Twice the player has had to run ~600 meters to the mission marker.

I really don't think it's as much an issue of Watch_Dogs as much as it is an issue of Watch_Dogs on previous generation hardware.

edit: LOL, that's typically how it works. Much like the random bunch of cars that spawned earlier, after the comment there's NPC vehicles everywhere. I guess now that it's raining everyone is driving instead of walking. It looks like what I said earlier about the game being coded to limit/cease NPC vehicle spawns during missions might be correct.

It's there but it's not on the same level.

And the people who says this looks worse than GTA IV on consoles really need to go back and replay GTA IV on said consoles, such an ugly game.

And yes, noon is fugly.

GTAIV was good for it's time, it wasn't the best looking game, but still an incredibly fun open world game.

the guns sound like ps2 era SOCOM.
That's due to the Xbox 360's inferior sound chip. Current gen systems will make the gunfire sound true-to-life and glorious.
Aiden will also now have a personality instead of being Mr. Monotone with a cool phone that does stuff.

Watched the stream a few minutes, the 360 version looks way better than I expected.

People keep saying this in this thread and I just can't agree.

It looks horrid. Absolutely terrible.

And feel free to see my post history; I'm usually pretty easy to please, graphically, and have zero pre-launch hate towards Watch Dogs. However, I think the 360 version looks like a PS2 game in 720p (in regards to environment and car detail, plus horrible lighting... character models are solid). No hyperbole. It's what I see.

Very glad I'm getting the PS4 version.

time of day seems to matter a lot in next-gen due to lighting.

compare the different times of day in games like MG:GZ and Infamous. it should always been nightime and/or rainy

After watching this stream for an hour or so, I'm pretty glad that I got the game for free with my video card. I'll hold my judgement on the visuals until I have the game in my hand, but all in all it just looks like another sandbox game with some ubisoft twists.

im scared my PC is going to explode

should I be good for high with a 3570K/7870 and 8GB of RAM?

Nobody can say for sure, but here are some tidbits gathered from Jonathan Morin's (Creative Director of Watch_Dogs) Twitter:

Morin also claimed that a GTX670 will be able to run the game at Ultra settings, provided the CPU does not bottleneck the GPU. But what CPU is ideal for Ultra settings? Morin stated that every CPU that scores above 9000 points at Intel’s PassMark will be able to run the game at max settings.

“As a ref: cpu above 9 000 -10 000 should run decently in Ultra with a 670 GPU“

Morin has also stated that users with CPUs similar to Intel i5-3470 will be able to run the game at medium or high settings, as that CPU will bottleneck the game.

I'm in the same boat with a 3570k/280x and 8GB RAM. I'm running the CPU at stock now, but looking around it appears an OC to 4.2 can get it at/above a score of 9,000. So it appears that High should be possible and maybe even Ultra.

yeaaah the shooting does remind me of GTA4 without the goofy euphoria physics.

i think the biggest ding the game has is the missions all look so boring generic open world stuff, and the characters aren't goofy or fun as gta.

makes you kinda wonder why this game exists as a AAA thing made by hundreds of dudes. Ubisoft thens to put their spin on stuff, but the phone stuff is kinda weak... but ill have to see when i get the game and see the less shooty approaches.
