Watch_Dogs |OT| PS4 would probably melt trying to do this

Hey GAF help me out here. I have a PS4 and a PC. Which one should I get Watch Dogs for?

My PC spec:
i5-4670K
Nvidia MSI Geforce GTX 760
8GB of Ram
Windows 8.1

I'm aiming for 60 fps, I'm not going crazy like 120fps. Realistically, what kind of graphic can I get? Will it be worst than PS4? If it is worst than PS4, then I rather get that. If I can get High quality at a stable 60fps I'll be happy.

When in doubt, get it on PC

Is there no PC streams/copies in the wild yet so we can get a good comparison? Seems lot's of people have the console game and are streaming but nothing regarding the PC version!

Edit: I'm not actually getting it on PC as my mates on ps4 want to have a blast with me on it but I'm just curious to how it holds up

You probably won't see PC copies out in the wild due to uPlay dictating download times. Also those PS3 screens look terrible. Ubisoft should have dropped past-gen consoles but its clear they, like everyone else, got caught out by how quickly new-gen is picking up.

We don't know. Ubi are making it sound like it's CPU bottlenecked, so overclocking that would be your best bet. They're also saying that PS4 = high settings.

I'd hope that a system like that would run high @ 60fps, but we just don't know until it's out. Remember that PS4 is running at 30fps, so in that instance, I think you should be able to exceed what the PS4 can offer.

While the collision detection seems quite forgiving the overall game looks alright for a ps3 game. How does it feel in motion?
Only played for about 2 hours~

There is some tearing and slow downs but its smooth for the most part. Motion blur looks great at least. Can't judge pop in because I'm reading both the cache and game off the HDD causing loading to be slower then usuall. Seems on par with most open word games on last gen, I wouldn't worry too much on performance.

Also the game has no jump button which could be annoying. You can only hurdle and climb when appropriate.

What is going on here? Pc version has been cracked and some french dudes leeched it officially via uplay? Then why the hell isnt it released for everyone now? Do it NOW! Its goddamn pointless to wait when every console player plays already....

Honestly... if this is what high settings looks like on PC, then this is pretty darn disappointing even for "master race" standards...

I mean it looks moderate at best. Hardly pushing any boundaries.

The texture setting is in a diff menu and not shown on that screen. I imagine its on low. Like loads of other settings.
Game looks worse than on PS3 in that shot.

I dont know man but everything on that settings pic is on High.

So i cant imagine everything else to be on low. It just doesnt make much sense.

Clearly not on high...

What do you mean "clearly not in high"? Everything in that pic suggest that most is on "High" (in fact everything in that specific pic is set to high), granted i dont know if the other settings are all on Low, but it doesnt make sense for them to be.

In any case I hope you are right cause this is darn pathetic to be even suggested as a next gen title.

I'm telling you, if that't legitimately on high, then there's a texture pack incoming on release day. Which makes sense considering it's allegedly smaller than the next-gen ones.

Oh, for anyone watching the streams, were there any Assassins Creed style eavesdropping missions?

Maybe there is a higher than "High" setting ?

There are ultra options but even so these supposed "high" settings look nothing like "high", or at least what high should be. Maybe Ubisoft fucked up the scaling so that people think their rigs run high settings when in fact its just low compared to ultra? Dont know. But this shouldnt be called high settings whatsoever...

Well, they said that the "high" setting on PC is equivalent to the console version.

There is, Ultra. Ubi were saying that the PS4 version = high settings though and that looks like a downgrade (hurrr) from what I've seen. Could just be a dodgy, glitchy shot though.

So texture pack and ultra settings are what we need to see to be able to judge it really.

Lol, lord, I still don't know what to think about this. Watched the Conan clip and LOLOLOLOLz at those car models. Keeping the faith, I guess...

Oh yes. But judging from what Ubi have said about requirements, I think most of us will be on high or lower.

I think it is best that unless you have the i7 and high end card craziness that Ubi demands, we're best off tempering expectations.

Personally, I'm not too bothered. my i5 2500k is overclocked and I have a 560ti. I'm playing on whatever gives me 60fps at 720p as I'd prefer that to the bestest graphical effects.
