I'll probably get the XL as I already have a launch 3DS
Hmm, just realized the stylus is on the bottom for both models.
I HATED having it on the top with the original 3DS because I could never accurately grab it when I wanted it in game.
But on the bottom I think it could work a little better than that.

I just turned my launch 3DS upside down. Nope, the stylus doesn't fall. Same when I tilt my ancient, hinge-cracked DS Lite. I really wouldn't worry about this.Except now when you shake the 3DS the wrong way, or the plastic clips wear over time and the stylus just keeps falling out and falling out and falling out as you try to play. I wish they kept it on the side.
Both the new 3DS' have...screws at the back...If you want to copy by using a personal computer, and SD card slot / microSD card slot of a personal computer, card reader / writer that supports SD card / microSD card, Phillips screwdriver for removing the battery cover (size: No. 1) is required .
But the Micro SD goes under there...

You can buy a charger for a couple of pounds, some stores give it for free with the console, it's not really a big deal.
Actually, I wonder if GameStop will have a trade up program for this?
I'd bite then.
Any images of the regular size new stylus? I am curious if it is telescoping.

You should only have to do that once. The Nu3ds had a wireless PC sync feature so you won't have to physically remove the micro so card.Wait a min...on the aforementioned Q&A it said

I thought that the back would just snap off
Most likely, yeah.what price will the revisions debut at? 180$ for XL?
They can put a charger in for a very tiny cost, so it kind of is.
It is just a silly thing, and Googling it plenty of people have purchased one without it.
To release a product without a charger is bullshit if it is Micro USB, if it is a non standard charger (only used for DSI/3DS etc) it is even worse.

Most likely, yeah.
I think it's because the UK uses a different plug than the rest of Europe, so by not including a charger, they can use the same boxes for the whole region.
The current XL isn't even $180. It's still $200. Why would this suddenly launch at a lower cost?
Yes, they did say the better CPU was necessary to run the game.Did they ever explicitly state that Xenoblade couldnt run on the OG 3DS at all? All I remember them saying is that its exclusive to the New 3DS due to the new CPU. Its perfectly plausible that Xenoblade could run on the OG 3DS but the drawbacks from having less CPU power and possibly having to work more on trying to get it to fit the OG's architecture just weren't worth it compared to just making it N3DS exclusive.
Considering the fact that they include it with the standard 3DS it still kind of sucks though:/
It's an upgrade. The 3DS wasn't cutting edge in power when it launched, so this new upgrade gives it legs.
I'm sure people here are still playing the latest games on their 4-year old mobile device.
I posted this in another thread, but I feel it's worth sharing here too:
1. Original 3DS game, works on both, no actual benefits on new console as it wasn't designed to take it into account, however just like how OG GB games displayed in limited colour on the GBC, standard 3DS games have the benefit of better 3D on a New 3DS. That's a selling point.
2. The NEW 3DS ENHANCED game, which plays on both units but has better performance and extra features on the New 3DS - Majora's Mask 3D and the next Pokemon would be great examples, with perks such as 60fps on the New 3DS and extra camera control. In terms of the GBC, Wario Land 2 contained two versions of the game - one for the GBC and one for the GB, and it switched depending on what console you were on (on a GBC it is full colour and has no slowdown).
3. Finally on the right we have the New 3DS ONLY games, such as Xenoblade which would not ever be possible on the original hardware. Wario Land 3 is a fucking gigantic game with graphical effects that would have been impossible on the original GB.
I still think it's a toss up over whether Majora's Mask will be option 2 or 3. I have a feeling it may be 3, which is why we haven't seen it yet....Grezzo/Nintendo were restrained heavily on OOT 3D due to its classic status (Miyamoto demanded they make the music sound exactly the same as on the N64, for example). Majora's Mask doesn't share that "untouchable" quality, so I feel like they're going to go all out and have it as a NEW 3DS showpiece.

Another comparison to the GBC, and clearly what will be happening:
From left to right equivalents -

I know, I know, I'm not defending it or anything. I'd prefer it to be included as well.

Thanks for the responses by the way - I may have come across a little angry, but I do feel that it is a bit insulting that as someone who doesn't own a 3DS I would have to buy a charger if I purchased an XL.
At its current capacity. Like I stated Its possible that they would have to had cut out too much stuff for it to run on the OG 3DS, but it doesnt mean it didnt work on it. But of course maybe thats not the reason at all. My whole point really is that we don't know how much more of the CPU was needed to run Xenoblade, yet people are running around thinking that every major game will be N3DS exclusive now and the OG 3DS is going to be obsolete. Xenoblade is a huge open world game, but stuff like Pokemon or even a Majora's Mask remake, while they could take advantage of the CPU, dont have to be n3DS exclusive because I highly doubt the hardware modifications to the n3DS would make the game that much more different.
Don't worry, it is a very weird situation to be fair, I don't think there is any other electronic that comes without a charger. If you want to get one early, you can get a charger for 2 quid here.
I thought that was only for media like photos and songs?
If we don't know, why are we talking about it? We're not getting anywhere with this mindset. At its current capacity. People aren't thinking of a push for n3ds exclusives driven by creative forces or technical ones, they're thinking of Nintendo pushing for more new model only games to sell more hardware.

Oh really, that sucks. Is there no option for backing up save files?

It has such features built in. The files end up on the SD card which you can put onto your PC, but will only work on that 3DS.
Its not comparable at all.Not an Apple fan i hope, or owner of any smartphone,
Or owner of a gaming PC, or owner of ....
True. 3DS is much cheaperIts not comparable at all.
