Welcome to the ne-

Goddammit, Phonicle.

Actually, this weekend I need to Arrow-ize my avatar and welcome it to the new age too.

I still need to find an archery range here in KY for my wife and I to go to. Now that we both have money and free time, we really want to get back into it.

But I could never shoot at Slade. I know the arrows would just bounce off that swag.

Arrow deciding not to kill people in season 2 is so dumb. I hate when superheroes do that. It's an inelegant and childish way of getting the most mileage possible out of the villains and it instantly makes the action less compelling.

Well, he still killed people. He offed Vertigo pretty nicely.

Killing is just a last option now, I guess.

I don't mind him trying to be a hero as long as he does kill few people in each season. This is true to Green Arrow's in comicbooks and should stay here. Especially since he lacks superpowers, it would be very convulted if he would be able to avoid killing anyone.

I agree. It makes more sense than Batman magically preventing anyone from dying while he kicks them in the face or throws knives at them.

It feels more in line with law enforcement, lethal force as a last option. I like a hero who is willing to do it, but not happy about it.

I at least want him to try not to kill anyone. There are situations where it might be appropriate, but I want struggle, I want Team Arrow grinding their brain to try getting everyone out alive, themselves, the innocents and the villains. I am not very found of Vigilantes who execute "bad people". Because the world isn't black and white and examples of people who took the law in their own hand, usually ended bad for black people in the States.

It would be even nice to do the repeat of the JLA storyline. When Oliver knew he had to put the bad guy down or the consequences would be terrible, but nobody else wanted to do it. So he did it in secret and when the truth finally camed out it caused a huge tension with his team mates.

It would work really nicely in Arrow, especially with boyscouts like Flash. And even the more open minded folk would propably react really badly to Oliver hiding the truth.

Someone asked the executive producer about Ray Palmer.

Fans of DC Comics, of course, know another side of Ray
— he shrinks into the tiny titan known as The Atom. Could shrinking and a blue and red costume be in his TV future on Arrow?

Marc Guggenheim: “I think anything is possible. My instinct is that if Ray Palmer’s going to shrink, he’ll probably shrink on another show. With The Flash in existence, there’s no real compelling reason for us to do super powers on Arrow. We can bring characters to Flash to have super powers. We have plans for Ray that don’t involve shrinking, but our plans for Ray are actually really cool.”

Really not sure what to think of this.
I thought introducing The Flash and mirakuru would open the floodgates to a more comic-book show with superpowers (with Oliver being a non-powered hero having to deal with that shit), but it looks like they're going back on it. He also recently said mirakuru is about as far into superpowers as Arrow will go.

I also really don't like the idea of making Ray a big part of Arrow and then shipping him off to The Flash when he gets interesting/becomes a hero.

I just want to see them talk about the show and do a post-mortem on last season. Not a big autograph person. Although, having them sign a copy of Wozzly's "An Eye for an Eye" would be pretty funny.

Have them recite it too!

So what happens after season five when they covered every year on/off the island?

What will they flashback to?

hopefully the show ends at that point.

Most shows have trouble being good past 4 or 5 seasons. I know ratings matter and all that, but I really don't want 2-3 years extra of garbage Arrow just because it gets ratings.

They already teased the supermax, lead that up to a GA movie or dedicated supermax season

Personally I like this. I
don't mind low level powers, but anything more makes Green Arrow outmatched. He should stick to human and sligtly more than human enemies, while everything crazier should be left for Flash, since he can actually handle it. At most, if they ever get a good idea about Arrow vs powers they can do it in crossoverse. Bassicaly do it the Batman way, when in his own comics he rarely has to deal with anything truly powerful. Plus it helps to keep both Flash and Arrow feel like genuinelly different shows.

I agree. Best way to do it. Plus, superpowers become localized to people who were in Central at the time of the particle accelerator blast, so Ollie doesn't really have to come across it too often.

"You know how I was on the island for 5 years..."

"Yes..."

"It was actually 6"

Or they can reboot the show. Do a big (5 years minimum) time skip, move him to different City, hire completely new cast and rename the show to Green Arrow. And then do flashbacks to his time between the time skips, including reasons why he left Starling

While I'm not going to be into any wall of shame, I'll be following this season religiously (along with Castle, BBT and maybe How to get away with murder)

The Flash goes back in time to Ollie on the island and they both go on time traveling adventures.

"My name is Oliver Queen. After five years on a hellish island, and another five years trapped in time..."
