I'm one of the biggest Ubisoft haters (at least I think so) but you gotta at least give them credit for this.
Maybe it's just because I'm used to companies not giving a shit and basically saying "stuff happens"
While a refund would be better, I can't hate on the fact they're giving season pass buyers something free and even regular people.
You should consult my post history before you talk a bunch of bullshit about me being a corporate apologist. Maybe they just shouldn't have pushed Unity out the door in the first place.

For actually doing the apology tour, I think. A lot of companies would try to sweep this under the rug and wouldn't make this kind of an offer.

I can agree that it's more than most would do but the best thing to do would have been, ya know, not sell a broken product for $59.99 and suppress reviews of a stable product (AC: Rogue).

So glad I don't buy season passes. Kinda bullshitty that you can't get a refund but it's also good to hear that the DLC will be free, they've admitted fault and have said they will work to fix them. They shouldn't have happened to begin with but nothing you can do about that now
It's not complicated. Everyone gets Dead Kings, Season Pass owners get all the DLC they were going to get and a 'free' game.
All buyers will get Single Player DLC Dead Knights for free. Season Pass owners will get all content that is promised + free game.

I don't feel quite so bad now about pre-purchasing a buggy mess! Free Rayman Legends works for me. Then again, I don't want a refund. I want them to fix AC: Unity and then never repeat this trend of releasing unfinished games. It's not just Ubisoft whose games could use more time in the oven before coming out.

How is this free? The people paid for a season pass and now are getting a game instead.
People are going to be excited they got Far Cry 4 or something like that but in the grand scheme of things this is an absolutely horrible precedent to set for this industry in terms of what is acceptable and what isn't.

You will still get all content according to that FAQ and free game.so there is no need for refund at all.

People are commenting as if Ubi is not honouring the season pass, and offering the game as recompense.

You can get a whole brand new game in the place of one of the small pieces of DLC. That seems ok to me. The Season Pass buyers bought it without knowing the state of the game or the quality of the DLC. They assumed that risk on their own. That being said, they should just offer refunds as well for those that want them... insert comment about digital future being bad.

Yea the thread title is a bit misleading. The Season Pass wasn't cancelled, it's just not available for purchase anymore. And by the looks of it, it's confusing people as they don't seem to realize that you get everything you wanted with the season pass, and a free game.

No you don't. People paid for the DLC, not a copy of a game they may not even want. There should be a 100% refund for people who bought the dlc. Fuck the free game.

Sooo the free game is good but I assume the real reason the season pass was pulled was because they didn't want to make DLC for a game that's broken.
A refund should be an option if you don't want the games on offer. I imagine you can call Sony/Microsoft and try to get one regardless.
PC players are probably SOL though.
