?!?

CONFIRMED!!!!!! LET THE WAIT BEGIN

?!?!?!?!?

I just wanted to do a fun way of sharing that info. As I said before I have no idea what is going to be on this week's Kojima Station.

Ha! I just got done reading it. Sounds absolutely FANTASTIC.

Right? I don't think I'm allowed to make self-serving threads but I couldn't let this little tidbit go unnoticed.

Thank you Based Tora.

Yer welcome.

Tora, how's the push for HD Collection on PC? It seems odd to leave PC players out of a good chunk of the story. MGS2 was the last game to get a PC release and that was, well... a while ago.

It's something we're definitely aware of, and I think the results of Rising definitely opened up HQ's eyes to the viability of the PC market, the quality from Rising -> GZ definitely shows interest internally from the team. But there are a lot of individual factors that make this port more difficult from a number of reasons.

As with a lot of other requests I unfortunately have to default back to, "The team is super busy working with The Phantom Pain, though this is a conversation I would love to happen in the future."

well, i guess i could use a tan...

i did my part. twice! it made a great gift for a friend of mine who isn't a metal gear super fan. he's loving it.

Glad to hear it! I think GZ is a great opportunity for new fans to dive in. Very accessible and simple enough story/gameplay for people to start off on. HD Collection was a lot of people's first trip into MGS and may have been... Too dense in content to be accessible. Again, super glad to hear he's on board!

My main role is to respond to requests from any of the above teams and provide answers and guidance. But my day-to-day consists mostly of the strategy of messaging content. Studios and brand determine content strategy (though our team assists).

So, you more or less have the job I want in the game industry (I studied Strategic Communication in college). Super cool!

Tora, based on what you know and saw, what do you think is the completion rate of TPP?

The opportunity definitely exists for those that want it and I wish you best of luck. The paths from which fans get their information these days is many, and companies are slowly coming to realize that getting the message on as many varied avenues as possible is to their advantage.

EDIT: Heading home for the day. Will be back tomorrow to answer questions.

Please be true, this would be really huge...

really sad that we must hope for it , there shouldn't be a question about it

Well the PC version hasn't been in the works for as long as the console versions. It's highly probable that the console versions are further along than the pc version. Releasing it simultaneously could mean delaying the console versions. And if that is true, why should they hold them back?

Imagine if epic said "hey everyone. Turns out we're making a console version of unreal tournament after all. We would love to simultaneously release the game on all platforms, so the PC version will be held back several months"

Imagine the outrage.

There are a fair bit of opportunities for similar kinds of roles out there. A lot of gaming companies are beginning to dive into this area, and a good few are already there. Even if not exactly the same, there are variations of the role at pretty much every decent sized company. It's not a bad idea to search outside the gaming industry initially either to build some experience (every company has roles related to this pretty much), if you're finding it difficult to get your foot in the door.

Appreciate your insight! I know it's something I'll have to have experience outside of the gaming industry first, but any advise is greatly appreciated.

Also, sorry to go so off topic.

Has there been any updates about the release date being seen outside of Hastings and MS Stores?

I'd personally recommend it. A lot of people tend to try to go the entry level route in the gaming industry, but the jobs are mostly terrible. Pretty much every report I've seen on employee satisfaction and so forth tends to be pretty poor. And if you're looking to go into this kind of role, it's probably a lot better for you have to the relevant experience from another technology sector. Mobile, for example, would be pretty good if you're able to get your foot in the door there. This is something a lot of companies are taking notice of, and if you get involved with any major network provider, or hardware company on the marketing and messaging side, spend a couple years, you have a pretty good foundation there to transfer your skillset. The other option is the entertainment sector, whether it's TV, magazines, film etc. It's still going to be tough, don't get me wrong, but you build yourself a foundation and it's not a bad route from a general career perspective either.

As for the bold, there hasn't been anything. Mostly just people losing their mind thinking they're going to get a release date in two days.

not strictly true, the driver profile for TPP discovered a little while ago lists the exe being called something like TPP_main or whatever, backing up the idea that the internal PC build for porting to console is indeed also the version that is being prepared for commercial PC release.

and we don't really know that a simultaneous release would delay the console versions either. TPP has been getting updates on the steam database, and a few internal players were in-game around mid-october, the PC port is at least somewhere in the forefront of their minds and not something lagging behind the rest of development.

i assume the GZ porting team are moving onto TPP soon, with a few working on continued GZ support patches.

As someone who never played an MGO games. What is the appeal of it? It doesn't seem like your typical military shooter. You play in third person view?

Nah. First i believe Tora. Second maybe...maaaaybe but most likely not we get a release date announcement on Kojima Station that won't be February.

but i still think Kojima Station is too small to announce something big like the release date and with all the voice recording sessions still not done yet i highly doubt it.

Why would it be too small? Most companies just send out a PR mail to all the game websites if they want to announce a release date. Or they just announce it on the official site. Announcing it on Kojima Station and sending PR mails right after would have the same effect :p

14 pages of mgs fans being mgs fans, stay strong.

meanwhile those info about MGO are pretty interesting,
Yes, we are planning to implement a camera feature which also lets players take selfies in-game.
can I post those selfies on twitter directly from the game though?
