They didn't actually make it canon on purpose. The writer clarifies in the replies that the episode was written in 2013.

Besides that, they did (sadly) fix the glitch in the latest patch.

No, what the glitch is that every time you jump you pause the game so you cancel the jump and you can then do another jump. It allows you to jump infinitely.
