Still not completely sold on the idea that exclusive marketing does much.
Madden was seen as an xbox game last generation. Xbox has the marketing agreement, yet the PS4 version outsells the XB1 version.
Destiny had no marketing for the XB1, but afaik that version of the game has outsold the PS4 version.
I think that trends trump marketing. First person shooters typically sell best on xbox. Sports games sell on the system with the larger audience. Japanese games sell better on playstation.
Batman will probably slightly favor the PS4, but not by much. MGS5 should heavily favor the PS4. Madden and fifa will sell better on PS4. Black ops 3 and Battlefront will sell best on XB1.

You're right. It's not confirmed, it's all insider talk without concrete evidence, which is why I said it's not worth discussing. The only thing we can do is wait to see if it's announced for PS4 sometime next year or not.
I'm only saying that on that same token, being so assured that it's not coming because of Phil's masterful PR is foolish, because we're talking about a company who so proudly flaunts the lifetime exclusivity of Titanfall the moment they bought it from EA.
The thing about destiny is that Sony sold a crap ton of ps4s cause of it that month. And didn't the ps4 sell twice as much the Xbox one that month also.

where did you get those numbers from? Destiny was bundled in with a lot of PS4's and definitely moved a bunch of units. Marketing does matter.

It has effect on hardware Destiny boosted PS4 more then XB1 and more then any first party games.
NPD don't track bundled games,with those bundled copie i think Destiny still sold better on PS4

Yup. Moved a lot of hardware in september, but the end year NPD still showed that the XB1 version was the top seller.
It'd be hard to tell. If it was s standard black ps4 you'd have a point, but it was the white ps4. Look at sunset overdrive. Even with the same stock, a black bundle probabky wouldn't have sold out the same the white one did

pretty much. I would love to see the fine print on this deal, obviously there is a lot of incentive (more so for Sony) for this deal to pan out. I wonder if MS and Sony both had contracts on the table with EA, and EA just chose the market leader.

My only guess is Horizon from GG. They've been working on it for a long time, since K: Shadow Fall was being made. Since November 2013, that's two extra years of more focus.

That is just the retail game box version though. It doesn't count the games that were bundled with the console. That was his point.

Even then, are the people buying the bundle for the game, or are they buying it because the system is white?
And I think historic trends have more of an impact than exclusive marketing. But... trends were created, initially and at least partially, by marketing.

Look at the NPD numbers when destiny was bundled with the PS4, it definitely helped console sales. The physical copy numbers most likely nose dived because so many people were buying the bundle instead.

It creates brand association. It can work sometimes and other times it won't really matter. But right now this is happening
So even though it's multiplatform, people are already associating it with the PS4.

I believe it's roughly 4 years time to make the game by Q4 2015 if some rumors are to be believed. Plenty of time. I also heard Morpheus rumors with it so they might hold it off until their VR is out.

You will still be able to play Battlefront first on XB1 thanks to EA access.

"Help" and "support" are code words for "we were paid for exclusivity" without sounding like "yeah we took the money to keep it off of other systems".
It's not like they had spare MS devs on site at CD working side by side on the game.. they just need to make it more meaningful than it really is (paid timed exclusive)
