Tales of Festival 2015?

Offtopic but XIV on XBO is highly dependent on Microsoft. Apparently they're being really Draconian about XBL requirements

I've also heard that's pretty much the reason from various others that watch those letters to the producer things. Makes sense considering everything YoshiP has been saying. I'm hoping Windows 10 and the new "ecosystem" will change their tune. I want XIV bad.

Why are people desperately clinging to hope of a PS4 version?

Was it hinted(informally announced) at any point?

The game was released in Japan on PS3...so far the Western release will also be on PS3.

I'm just going to assume that most of the people wishing/hoping for a PS4 version are those who no longer have a PS3 or just don't want to go back to their PS3 to play this game because it would inconvenience them.

If is the latter....then that is pretty sad.

There's been multiple store listings and also it's just really obvious.

I didn't know about the store listings but isn't it kinda reaching to say that it's "obvious"?

Granted that there hasn't been a cross platform Tales game that hasn't been some kind of Remake, Remaster, or Collection.

We are just assuming that Zest will be a straight Port...right? I don't recall this ever happening before.

.Stores listing ToZ on PS4 in several countries, listings being pulled right after sites reported having seen them (suspicious)

.Zestiria showed on a making-of video of a PS4 commercial.

.Listed on Steam, and that one is still there afaik

This evidence is far more than what other games getting ports have. And the Japanese fanbase's feedback has spread like wildfire. I firmly believe that it will happen, but if it eventually doesn't, know that at the very least it must have been thoroughly discussed and considered at BN HQ. Wouldn't call this an instance of "desperate clinging to hope".

yes it's reaching.

to be obvious =/= would be the logical thing to do. unfortunately. :/

Really hoping them using Shiina music for that 20th Anniversary Animation trailer is a sign he'll be more involved in the series from now on.

Aside from the store listing, NAMCO has been porting every game they have to the PS4 even if there wasn't a PS4 version of a game with its initial release. Godzilla and J-Stars both had PS4 versions announced for their western release. They recently announced Sword Art Online for the PS4 in the west as well. They even canned the PS3 version in the west and are only releasing it on the PS4 and Vita. Zestiria is the only console game in their current western lineup that doesn't have a PS4 version.

By this time, isn't the Tales of Festival over?

If it is, doesn't that kinda debunk the PS4 port theories?

If it isn't, does someone know if it's being streamed via Nico?

I imagine if they were going to announce ToZ PS4, it really wouldn't have been at the Tales of Festival in the first place.

I have a better question, why is it such a problem with hoping for a ps4 version based off of the obvious clues pointing to it?

Well, we know BN has a 30-minute theatre presentation of an unannounced AAA title "we won't want to miss", so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they just popped a trailer and called it a day. Still, they may show up at Sony's presser, we'll have to wait and see.

Your being defensive for no reason, there is no problem. I just asked a few questions...where is the harm in that?

FYI, I'm interested in a PS4 version of the game, it's just that It doesn't seem all that imperative to me if we somehow don't get one. From the last few pages it appears to be that quite a few people's hopes and dreams for that game lie in a PS4 port.

I didn't know there was leaks for the game, so in that respect I was ignorant to that bit of knowledge. However to me it still doesn't add up to why people believe that a Localized PS4 version will be out soon.

It just seems like people are putting all their eggs in one basket...

Eh, I really think that if they had a "Director's Cut" style PS4 port in mind for Japan they would have announced it this weekend. Ports usually come 12-13 months after the original release. But console Tales games they intend to announce and release between October-January that same year are usually announced around this time. Factoring in this, plus the way that all evidence of a PS4/PC version is coming from the West aside from a PS4 ad in Japan (which doesn't really seem like strong evidence). and it could just be a similar situation to Godzilla and J Stars.

That they set up Berseria as their next upcoming console release in Japan, even when it seems like it's over a year away, makes me think they've decided to move on and not to put as much into Zestiria's post-release games/material as they probably would have had it been received better.

This is likely true.

I just want Zestiria on PS4 because hopefully the extra power will allow them to fix the godawful texture filtering that afflicts the PS3 version.

I wonder why there would be multiple store listings for the title if it wasn't coming out? It wasn't just one like it was a mistake by some publisher.

The only thing i can think of is that they are saving it for a western oriented event, as the turnaround is too fast for the Japanese market(hence not announcing it here) and PS4 is not really a priority for that market, as well as the bad press...i heard Baba didn't even show up over the issue of Zestiria
