Confirmed: Transformers Devastation is made by PlatinumGames

Kinda looks like a downsampled Wii game with maybe 10 hours of content to me. Not the biggest Transformers fan, guess that doesn't help.

I just hope there is more to come from Platinum, was sure we'd see Rising 2.

What the hell no Rising 2? Cmon Platinum life can't be that rough your picking up scraps for work.
Bah Ill check it out but I was hoping for something meatier. Perfect cover though since Prime can take out both without any help.

What do you want Platinum to do?
"Hey Konami we're gunna make Rising 2 whether you like it or not, kay?"

It seems odd that they wouldn't do a PC release. Do we know how well PC Korra sold compared to the console versions? Can't imagine it was so bad that they wouldn't do the same arrangement this time around.

Around 100K according to Steamspy. For reference, Metal Gear Rising sold around 500k.

One problem with Platinum ports is they lock the game to 1080p, which is seen as a huge negative on the platform. 60 FPS lock as well.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
I think people need to accept that MGR2 likely won't happen.
Konami doesn't see any profit in paying Platinum to make another Raiden action game.
I don't agree, but they're too busy sniffing their own assholes to pay attention to what people actually want.

Keep in mind, this is Konami. The same people that told IGA to his face that "nobody wants his style of Castlevania game". $5.5 million dollars later...

I'd rather play this than MGR2.

why would you say dis?

Thread needs more 80's kids, all I'm seeing is tears from people who didn't grow up with Transformers to appreciate how fucking awesome this looks.

Hoping there's playable Decepticons as well.

Were people seriously expecting MGR2???? with MGS V out in September, it was never happening.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Who will fund it? Isn't that part of the problem. They got the funds to make this game. Maybe they could pull an Alien: CM type of thing

That's not really the point. I'm just saying that there are more franchises than just MGR that they could trot out again - it's not like they're beholden to what Konami wants. And in any case, I seriously doubt Activision is the only publisher that was interested in working with them.

I'm pumped. 10 hours. 2 hours. Doesn't matter.

Activision could do it.

Yeah but why would they?
At least with this game there is a known and beloved franchise that could pull in more than just the hardcore gamers that a game like Vanquish would get.
Honestly at this point people should be happy with any P* they can get. Because with as much critical acclaim as they get, the sales don't really match...

Activision could do it.

And so could any other publisher, but they won't. I'd absolutely love a Vanquish 2, but I can't really blame Platinum for doing these licensed games. They're a bit disappointing to me, but it's how Platinum keeps themselves afloat. They're like the Mercs of gaming.

I get wanting MGR2, but I honestly don't know what there is to get upset about, here, considering we have a dope-sounding original game coming in the form of Scalebound.

Just one thing, though. The game is listed as 65$ CAD. That's 15$ less than what full price retail games go for right now.

That's roughly 50$ USD. So not quite a full priced retail game.

Wowwwww playable Grimlock?!?!?oh I am so in. As I much as I hate the Bay transformer movies, bless you Mr. Bay for bringing Transformers back into the public consciousness so we can get some games funded. I've always thought Vanquish, Bayonetta et all were incredibly overrated and never thought I'd be excited for a platinum games title but I <3 me some Transformers so bring it on! Here's hoping its ends up like a Transformer branded version of Custom Robo.

Wait, there's no PC version?

We don't know yet. BestBuy didn't list one, but they also didn't list one for the last Transformers game (which maybe didn't get a retail release?).

I'd be surprised if we don't get a PC version of this, personally.

People are always asking for new IP's and now people are mad because its not a sequel. You can't win.

Does a licensed game count as a new IP?

Ah, so there's still a chance

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's a retail release? I hope that means there's a decent budget behind it.

As we all know, Activision licensed games at retail are incredible products.

Can you even think of a better game than Deadpool or The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct?

Bayonetta is an 8 hr game... MAYBE the first time, if you suck, and watch all the cut scenes.

On replay, its maybe a 3 hour game. Yet I still have put in 30+ hours on both games, because they are fun to replay.

That's basically true of all Platinum Games, and I basically never ever replay anything.

Scalebound is one of those games that I want to say, "Don't get too hyped yet because we haven't even really seen anything from it", but i can't help but feel hyped for an original Platinum game. I hope that one doesn't bite me in the ass.

The writting was in the wall with this one.
Im not that big fan of transformers although i like it and playing the highmoon game made me explore the lore and had fun with that, so this is good news for me.
The screens look great, here is hoping it has the themes from the series and movie.

When people say new IP, they mean a new idea all together, and not a new series based on an established franchise.

While I'm always down for a new idea, I'm okay with a new series based on a franchise. For instance, the Arkham series.

Might just be me, but I reckon Vanquish 2 would sell more than this...

MGR2 is very likely never going to happen due to Konami's redirection.

Vanquish 2 ain't happening unless a publisher is willing to eat a loss. Sega sure as hell isn't.

Wonderful 102 dream was dead once the Wii U sales came out and the game bombed. I don't see Nintendo dumping even more money, that they know they're not getting back, into the sinkhole that is the WiiU.

Korra 2 might have made sense if the show was still airing thus cross promotion but that ship has sailed.

MGR2 was never a possibility given Konami's current state. That game was dead the moment we found out Kojima was on the outs.

I'm tentatively excited for this. I really hope it's good. P* are one my favorite developers but Korra sucked so yeah.

Hey people are real hyped for Scalebound. People are just worried that this'll be a b-tier effort from Platinum ala Madworld and Korra.

(I liked madworld)

Am I the only one who just despises the artstyle? It looks like something from the ps2 era. Unless this is copying some tv series.

Still, platinum games made good games so I'll see how this turns out.
