Confirmed: Transformers Devastation is made by PlatinumGames

Honestly I have no faith that Activision gave Platinum the time and budget that they'd require to produce a quality game. I'm telling you now that it will be a repeat of Korra.

Bu-bu-but this is Transformers! And a full retail release! This means it can't possibly have a small budget and limited development time because of reasons and nostalgia!

I'm pretty excited to find out more about this. I was hoping for playable Decepticons, most notably Starscream and Soundwave, but I'll definitely keep my eye on it anyways.

Legend of Korra came out in October. If this game is supposed to come out in Fall this year that means they gave Platinum a year to make full fledged console game. Yeah.... screw Activision if true. I'll start caring when they confirm the game has had at least 2 years of development time.

edit: FUCK!!!

The more I think about this, the more my butt quivers. I'm really hoping they don't blow this thing. Has this been the only game they've had to make since Korra came out?

ITT I learn there are people who don't like TF G1, wow.

Anyway Platinum needs to do a Skeletor game.

yeah, it seems so foreign to me too, but different strokes, I guess...

I think Skeletor would be the perfect voice on the other end of the radio (Pagan-Minh type thing).

the claims that this will have a Korra-level budget because "Activision is evil" or whatever are ridiculous to me

This is either going to be absolutely amazing, or absolutely Legend of Korra tier.

I've yet to hear a legit criticism of Korragame and would honestly be interested in hearing what those could possibly be.

Game was great once you unlocked bending enough. Does it suck that that grind is there? Yes, but it doesn't invalidate the rest.

Disappointed to learn this is the license they're working with now. Transformers was always quite boring, personally.

My stand holding over eighty of them, and my wall plastered with cutouts of the box art as a kid disagrees.

I guess the uninspired, simple gameplay and repetitiveness doesn't bother some people as much as others.

Nothing against Transformers but my dreams are shattered.

Anyways, happy to see them getting work though.
Yeah I was expecting something else too. Ah well, good for PG. Gotta keep the lights on somehow and the transformers fan base is huge.

If only activision made platninum make a bad ass warcraft themed game since Blizzard is shit at combat compare to platinum. Good for transformers fans. Not for me though. But always good to see them still getting work.

I don't believe this is the Platinum game that's getting hyped. This isn't something to "cry" over like PG_jp said.

It looks nice, I'm not a fan of these franchises though but my sister might be interested.

Looks like there is a lot of crying in the thread already :p

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fucking transformers so sick!!!

We need more mech action games. Activision doing work letting platinum develop it.

Didn't platinum only have a year to make revengeance?

Not a fan of Transformers but will give it a shot for Platinum, will wait for impressions before paying full price though. For the price it was released I thought Korra was pretty decent and had some fun, but this is full price and I liked Avatar so not going in blind for this one.

I think people who thought Korra sucked must have had very different expectations. Korra stands very tall within the tier it belongs to. Either that or most people can only judge an experience superficially. Like, a Platinum game is not only as good as it's shine.
