Gametrailers Thread: Good Night and Good Game

No. As big as the game is for Atlus, I think the people who are going to buy it are already ready to buy it. It won't have a long marketing campaign.

I feel the same way. I think good word of mouth about P5 when it releases (I think it's bound to be excellent) will carry the Persona name to new heights.

If you told me that P4G on the Vita would ship approximately a million WW when it released, I wouldn't believe you. Good word of mouth got the hype and excitement to where it is today.

Still, more exposure wouldn't hurt the game.

Elyse's comment is being taken entirely out of context. The question had to do with why Sony is pushing the Call of Duty partnership as hard as they can, and in terms of marketing to a wide audience, it's one of the biggest things they've got. Remakes, Disgaea, and all of those mid to small range games aren't going to rise above the Q4 noise and stand out like Halo and Tomb Raider. Associating COD with PlayStation the same way they did with Destiny could be one of Sony's biggest plays this fall.

I would make a bet that Tomb Raider on XB1 won't outsell Persona 5 on PS4.

Interesting bet. Tomb Raider is most popular in Europe where Xbox One is pretty weak. I could definitely see that happening. It will get demolished by Fallout 4 in the states. Ironically, the best thing for Tomb Raider sales would actually be to delay into the spring.

I'm hoping they spend a good bit of time commemorating Iwata this week. It's very likely that Kyle will make The Final Bosman about Iwata, and they'll probably have a discussion on GT Time at the very least. Wouldn't mind more, though. Even a casual Just Played format, just to talk about it.

Man, I'm really bummed out right now.

I'm not sure we'll get much on Iwata in the Final Bosman. The episode was probably already shot. I'm pretty sure he said he was out Monday so that would only leave him Tuesday to come up with the show and film.

We still haven't even seen Bosman film everything with a shitty Amiibo on display.

They make all these wild bets but never follow through. Brandon's too busy spunking all his money on Disney Infinity toys. He can't spare anything for the crappiest Amiibo.

You notice how Brandon is a stickler for saying "Amiibo" when talking about more than one? Yet he was the biggest advocate for "Legos" instead of "Lego". Bizarre logic.

Yup, definitely playing this one with some friends & a few beers. I thought the next full priced game I was going to buy was MGSV, but this looks too good to pass up.

Not going to pay full price, but yeah, really interested. And a great video overall!

Lots of never-seen-before footage there. I really hope this game turns out good.

Frame-rate looks rough. I hope they iron that out before it ships.

The frame rate issues could be from the stammers those types of games receive after making a choice when the game loads the next sequence.

No Manups this week at all? Not even nights?

God, Batman leaves the office for a few day and everybody just starts horsing around.

I'm glad I was able to watch their video for iwata's passing before I was gone for a week. It was a good send off and it was also good that none of them broke in tears because that would've gotten me going.

Huber's Hype already up.

He's off to China for two weeks now, so the next couple of episodes will be pre-recorded. But where does this leave Tabletop Adventures?

Quite a bit of backlash about this MU Nights.

I'll admit Ian was a little harsher/meaner than usual (especially to Kyle) and didn't really balance it with kind/funny comments. I know cynicism is his 'thing' but I think this was a little further. I don't care about him going to pee or anything like that, the phone call was sorta funny but that drone music coming from his phone or something was so annoying.

Brandon was visibly choking up at the very beginning. If he broke, I would've, too. I've been fighting the sadness for a few days, made easier because none of my friends feel the same way.

I didn't even realise there was a Man Ups this week. I usually watch on YouTube and it will appear on my subscriptions page but nothing was there. I wondered why this was. Then I watched the show.

Jesus.

As much as Elyse and Kyle were trying there was next to no gaming talk whatsoever. It was quite a mess. Kyle didn't even have a microphone for Christ's sake!

Yeah, there's fast and loose and there's sloppy and lazy, but tbh Ian was the main culprit. I like the guy but he really looked like he just didn't wanna be there or have any interest in the show. It's a shame because I think with just a bit more structure Nights could be an awesome podcast.
