There have tons of examples where mob "justice" hasn't worked i.e the Boston Bomber incident where someone actually died, Gamergate or Gawker trying to shame that gay man for refusing to give in to blackmail for internet shaming. If you are talking about it in this particular instance, I'm still against it firmly, but I'm not gonna lose sleep over the fact he lost his job.

I know of someone who got fired from his flight attendant job because they wore those dead pilot costumes from the Asiana flight that crash landed in SF. They had those racist name tags on like 'Sum Ting Wong', etc.

There's a difference between needing thicker skin and racist comments. This is not one of those times where you need thicker skin, the comments were deliberately racist. If say, the kid was wearing a weird shirt and they were messing with that

When it's being said by a guy who mocks a dead black kid, and who has friends who make jokes about a black kid being his slave, yes in that context it's a racist term. I seriously doubt if it was a little white kid he would have used the term feral (or even taken the pic to begin with) and I have zero reason to give him the benefit of the doubt in that regard.
