I guess im underleveled at 118 in NG...I do such little damage to

I'll try, Kos rekts me though lets go! set your pass

Wait first play through correct? Level ~65 is what I see is the recommended level for NG..

Need another hand?

We got him down. Thanks for the help!

I had heard that the
Doll has special dialogue after defeating Kos, but she hasn't said anything. Probably because in my game the workshop is aflame and all she says is to go face Gehrman instead of her other dialogue?

So after beating Bloodborne earlier this year, I thought I'd jump into Old Hunters today.

However, my PS4 is now giving me disc read errors (saying the disc is damaged or dirty) every time I try to play. I just made it up to the character creation screen when this popped up again... The disc actually looks fine so I've no idea what the deal is?

Before that, when trying to play the PS4 told me the data was corrupted... So I uninstalled and reinstalled the game (and lost my save in doing so :-(), but nothing seems to be working.

Is this where the real Bloodborne begins?

OoK is driving me crazy. I'm getting some Defiled Amgydala and Ebrietas flashbacks with him. His second phase in particular is just brutal.

With the strategy I'm using right now (being super aggressive with my LHB and attacking him with its R2 charge attacks), if I'm lucky I can get him down to his second phase by only consuming 3 vials max. (If I'm not, then I'm dead). So far I've tried parrying him (which works but is pretty unreliable imo. He's no Pthumerian Descendant/Lady Maria that's for sure); I've tried using quicker weapons like the Saw Cleaver or newer ones like the Pizza Cutter but all in all, the LHB's charge attack seems to work best.

But when he starts
flying
, I can barely stay alive anymore. In the first phase, I've always opted to stay as close as possible so that I can have time to charge up my R2 attack when he has ran out of stamina (rather than wasting valuable time running up to him). But he
flies off
before I can do that in the second phase. And his arcane magic/bolt attacks have insane range. So I'll be rolling away from him to get away from the magic attack and by the time I run towards him again, his stamina is probably back all the way up again and he's able to just go all ham on me.

Halp gaf. I need some tips. :( (I also read a note saying that I should use the terrain. Am I missing something obvious that might help me? Or is the note just telling me to not stand in the water while he's doing his magic bolt attack.)

Think I'm gonna have to do some progress in NG+ before I can take on Laurence and OoK. I'm way too weak for these guys.

I stayed near the entrance. The bolt attack doesn't even go that far, and even then you can see the gaps from there. I always dashed toward him as he attacked, or I would dash circles around him when he was in flying form to wait for an opening. I used the Holy Blade +10, blood gems that raised physical high but lowered beast ATK as obviously I didn't need it here, and bolt paper. I also used a rune that gave me a total of 24 vials...and I used them all early on. Feels cheap IMO.

Here's my fight
.

EDIT: This was NG++

beat
ludwig
on third try at lvl 59 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

his charge attack in second form is so easy to cheese

no clue how to lvl in bb tho, is 30vit 25st 20sk decent for my lvl? I just beat rom, don't know how far that puts me in the main game

hahaha damn.

could you walk me through a bloodtinge build? never used it before. might make my next character bloodtinge. basically 50 bloodtinge / 25 str?

I'm kinda dumb. I made mine after a Chikage PVP build someone made so my final (relatively, I'll build my other shit after more level ups) was Vit 45, End 25, Str 10, Ski 15, Blood 40~50, Arc 9. The Str and Ski were pretty much whatever origin starts you close to that without going over, pump Ski so you can use Chikage/Bow then lump it all in Vit until you get a BT weapon then dump into BT. It...makes the game super duper hard until you get those weapons, but when you do get those weapons? Holy shit dude. I'll probably level a bit more and pump Ski to make my build have more variety and be able to deal damage with untransformed Chikage/Bowblade.

Mainly every fight is an endurance battle where you chip at the boss until they get tired of hitting you. Bosses are easy up until Logarius, he's the only one who gave me trouble with starting stats and a +3 Hunter Axe (didn't wanna waste too many mats on it).

But you get that frenzy build up only from that one move on Bloodletter. Just lower your insight little bit, put Graveguard set and put frenzy resist runes and you are good to go. Frenzy works like cooldown timer for that move if you have that setup and considering it is an AoE that does 1000 damage it needs a cooldown.

Yeah, I noticed that afterwards. It definitely improves my impression of it but it still swings a little slow for my tastes. I rarely go Str builds in games cause I am super bad with Str style weapons and am more adept at faster characters so splitting my distribution into Str. for variety didn't appeal to me. That chunk it takes when you L1 it is pretty huge too and knowing my talent for timing I'd probably use it right before a boss hit me with it's strongest attack.

Lol this sounds so familiar, I'm doing a Bloodtinge build now myself and logarius was such a pain at low level with hardly upgraded weapons. I ran trough the whole of cainhurst yo because I did Shit for damage.

Yep. I started running through levels because it took way too long to kill enemies. I actually grinded a bit in Hemwick because they gave alright Echoes and were weak enough to die to my hands. Logarius though? Goddam dude. It was pretty tough just because it was taking so fucking long and I was getting tired of dodging him. I never really ever had a problem with Logarius and still didn't but I kept making dumb moves because I was getting patient or annoyed at how long it was taking. Kinda wish there was an Old Hunter to summon for that fight to help with damage a bit and give me opportune times to speed it up with parries and backstabs.

Oh god was cooping and an invader came and I couldn't see him and he was killing my teammate so I spammed call beyond and somehow hit him with it and killed him. The hell was that.

So I'm at
Orphan of Kos
and he's AGGRESSIVE AS FUCK~

Any tips?

Edit: Reading some posts in this page, his second phase seems like a nightmare. I'm screwed, aren't I? :C

Beast Saif is incredible too.

The Saif is so absurdly aggressive with that first lunge forward. Pair it with some paper and beast pellets and just about every boss outside the DLC melts into a pile of puddy within a couple minutes. I took 90% of Rom's health off on NG+ before he even finished teleporting.

Just finished Laurence, that's everything. In terms of difficulty, I'd rank the bosses Ludwig > OOK > Laurence > Maria > Living Failures. I was on NG++, all solo. Here's the Laurence fight - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJLoVZzTVFo - I think his final phase is the easiest. The 'trick' to the fight is dodging his sweeping attacks without locking on so you an get behind him. It took some time to get the timing down of course. I feel like Ludwig, Laurence, and OoK are probably the most difficult bosses in the whole game, up there with Ebrietias. Area three was my favorite, it's one of my favorite areas in the game. It reminded me of something you'd see in a Souls game. I really like all of the new armor sets, some of the best looking in the game. The new weapons are pretty great too. Church Pick, Whirigig, Boom Hammer, and Bowblade are my favorite. All in all, that was by far the most difficult chunk of Bloodborne.

Thanks! Just watched the vid. Will be trying this and sticking to the entrance this time round. He only triggered his lightning attack once during yours and you're right, now that I'm watching the vid, there are gaps there when he does that attack. For some reason, I kept thinking that it was an all-out AoE attack.

Sigh. This is going to one long, grueling battle. I'm on NG+. Can't imagine having to do this on NG++.

Good job man!~ Laurence is next on my hit list.

The last 20 seconds or so of that fight I was seriously talking to my screen "Shoot the fucker comeoncomeoncomeon shoot him!"

God damn wasted a shaman bone because I forgot how it worked. I thought it powered up my regular attack so I did it at the top of the well.
