Yea I kinda expected it...
I like all of them... especially Xiaoyu's one. Lili's one is good as well but I still prefer her original.
I do hope you can still select the old default costumes.
Not fond of Bryan's mask though.
So, that's what Namco had to to. Upgrade the graphics, add some new costumes, a guest character and Tekken isn't stale anymore, everyone's happy! Well, that was easy.

Isn't that how Tekken 6 transitioned from original to BR. I could have sworn that it looked like ass before BR came out.
No I dont think the transition was anywhere this big for 6 -> BR. They added motion-blur but the graphics actually got worse (downgrade in resolution) in BR because of the sacrifice of adding motion-blur.
I do agree with this but I'm thinking Harada sees it as a "new" costume.
Man, I don't consider a tiny recolor to be a proper costume update. By that metric, Hwoarang also got a costume update because they made his vest black and orange instead of brown and blue.
That's some low-level customization right there. I think these characters deserve fully new outfits as much as anyone. Law hasn't had much of a chance to wear anything but his Bruce Lee pants as his 1p throughout the entire series, with minor variations here and there. Now is the chance to stir things up.

Well, i didn't really expect them to redo any of the combat systems that made Tekken 7 after the game already came out.
But actually having a new coat of paint that looks great, and new default costumes for every character do go a long way to bringing some new freshness to the title that was sorely missing.
As long as that's the case, i'll still buy a new gen Tekken, even if it is still in the process of refinement rather than evolution/revolution

Could be a character, could be a lot of things. Namco has been very active on PC the last year or two... I don't see why Ace Combat 7, Summer Lesson, and Tekken 7 VR wouldn't come to Oculus. Pretty much anything on PS VR that isn't from a first party studio has been seen on other VR devices.
I'm thinking it'll be some PS themed customisation items.

Naw. Her T4 appearance is still supreme. If only they would remake those into T7 and sell them as a costume packs. I'd buy the hell out of them.

Game looks absolutely unreal and could possibly be the best fighting game of the generation.
This trailer really addressed most of my complains about Tk7:
* New costumes (most of the ones in current Tk7 are really, really old already), the game really needed new ones to make it look fresh and not already old out of the box.
* Improved graphics, tk7 did have some ok details, but the new ones seem really, really improved.
* Akuma reveal was really shocking and they've done an incredible work with him.
* Reassuring that more characters are incoming, really need my Nina, Anna and Julia... [although I fear Anna might not make the cut
]
All in all, i've gone from 'meh' to really hyped after the trailer.
I still miss motion blur and seems like the game is going to take forever to be released in Ps4, but at least now I'm really looking forward to it.

I do hope they do P2 costumes as well though. Half the time I like Yoshimitsu's P2 costume even more than his P1.
He has already been redesigned, same reason why Lars looked the same in the new trailer.

Here's what confused me. Thanks for the reply. Since I saw the Twitter question I somehow assumed that everyone was getting new default costumes (but I was confused with Lars as well).
Well then, good news for me in this case because I already liked Lars and Yoshi. Hope they do stick with P2 costumes though, yes. I hate what they decided to do with TTT2 (although it's quite understandable).
Well Jun is going to come back most likely. She has to come back for the final Mishima storyline. This will in turn probably bring the focus back onto Jin and Kazuya. I think Heihachi will probably get killed cause he's really the start of everything. Who knows what'll happen to Kazuya...
i expect Jin and Xiao to hook up by the end and the next game will be a timeskip with their kid or something like that apart of the roster

indeed they were. but it would be that much more awesome to have the character who is pretty much playstation's biggest icon, in the latest iteration of the fighting game series that has a long history with playstation.
not sure what you're referring to with rigs though. you didn't talk about that in the post you quoted or anything related i don't think
