Fucking Dark Souls III! I just want to tear my hair out. Granted I've been falling for some uber schoolboy deaths and I should really know better but it's been a while since a Souls game has made me this angry! Kind of see why the like of Durante go for caster type classes, resistance doesn't mean immunity. Oh and I'm not dead, working all hours of the day kind of makes your free time at a premium so sadly posting on GAF wasn't exactly at the top of my priorities the past couple of weeks.

I'm going Pyromancer and I'm struggling...hard

spells taking time to work + enemies that are quick + they can either hit like a truck or do multi-hit combos that lock you in place = me dying a lot

Killed Vordt second attempt ;)

Not sure if bad ass Souls veteran or if start of game is really easy =/

things ramp up once you get past that boss...gotta keep your head on a swivel and pay attention once you get to the Settlement

is it me or is dark souls 2 littered with enemies? it feels like dark souls 1, demon souls, and bloodborne go with encounters of 2-3 vs 1 with strong enemies, compared to dark souls 2 which is like 5+ vs 1. its really frustrating, I've just started running through the world trying to get shortcuts and bonfires.

One thing about the Corpse Party PC version though.

What the hell? Why does the 3DS version sound like it's getting more love than the PC version?

Remastered from the 2011 PSP game, the Nintendo 3DS rendition of Corpse Party will feature redrawn, high-resolution character sprites, newly arranged music tracks, and 3D art stills, as well as four new Extra Chapters exclusive to this version that provide insight into lesser-shown characters and plot elements previously left unexplained. This title has been rated “M for Mature” by the ESRB.

Localized directly from the original independent PC version, which was previously never released outside of Japan, the worldwide Windows PC release of Corpse Party will feature all the original art and voice-acting, as well as a bevy of new features exclusive to this version. Among other inclusions, such as multiple endings and scenes that differ from the PSP and upcoming Nintendo 3DS releases, this version boasts four bonus chapters on top of the game’s five main story chapters, one of which is a PC-exclusive retelling of the “Tooth” story from Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, recreated with added content in classic Corpse Party adventure style. Players seeking to complete every ending will find that this version also contains a speedy fast-forward function for seamless replayability. The Windows PC version of Corpse Party is not rated by the ESRB.

I'm all for playing the original indie version of Corpse Party, and I realize that the original version had different voice acting and some different scenarios (some of the most brutal scenes in the original indie version were left out of the PSP version since it would get the game an AO rating through ERSB and other rating boards), but really I think no one would of complained if they made an option to choose art format for the character portraits.

It's the difference between this:

In one frame of the trailer they show updated art for one of the character portraits, I do hope with all the extra development time they may have included the option to use the newer art style. XD;

Yeah, there are more enemies in DS2 (and even more in Scholar of the First Sin)

You just need to find a different method to approach things.
I had more difficulty with the
Outrider
(A mini boss) than bosses. Decided to go more aggressive against it and it paid off.

I bought FF9 :) its actually my first FF game on steam. I have the ps1 classic on ps3/vita but my save got lost (i was like more than half way through disc 2) with 45 hrs and didn't want to replay all that. enough time has passed where i think i can go at it again.

I think for some games it's on by default, I just never change it

my brother also doesn't like playing with vibration on, i personally love it. it feels weird when i play something on my brother's ps4 and i notice the controller isn't vibratitng when i know it should for certain parts

ah thats the version im playing too. i was at the place where the ghost ship is at and i had like 9 enemies chasing me around.

I'm hoping the game can be modded so the newer art can be used at least.

Nah. if you're playing SOTFS they are a pretty easy to get through, just dont try to rush.

And if you think 2 is littered with enemies... You're going to have a bad time with 3 :p

aww man my friend gifted me ffix, I know what I'm playing this weekend!

I don't actually notice it that much so I can play with or without it, only game I noticed/disliked it was Mass Effect 3, I remember it was going nuts when you ride that robot thing in that one level

its that im still in bloodborne mode and I'm trying to speed my way through and be super aggressive but the thing is i barely have stamina and it recharges slower compared to bloodborne... a few more deaths and I'm sure I'll go back to dark souls mode :p

I'm not having too much trouble with DS3 but I wonder what someone new to the series would feel because the game seems harder at the beginning than 1 or 2.

I remember playing DS1 as my first Souls game and it taking forever just to get to the next bonfire from undead burg, and this game is throwing super aggressive knights at you from the get go. if you don't know how to play a Souls game and how to deal with those enemies then I don't even know

I've been craving Spiderman on Steam, but it looks like every game has a crap port.

Also sick of Activision never dropping the base-price of their library.

I haven't played a Souls game in a while so I'm having some issues too in the early game.

Spent a few tries killing the fat guy in the courtyard in the High Wall of Lothric area last night. Was a good fight, he has some moves. Got the boss of that area down to ~15% health on my first try (he essentially one shots me) so it will come back

Corpse Party on Steam is neat. I've owned the first two games in the series for awhile now on my PSTV, but the platform in question is a bit of a turn off for me, so never made any significant progress in either. Hopefully Steins;Gate will follow accordingly.
Maybe Ace Attorney too? Pretty please, Capcom?

I was really hoping that after Dragons Dogma, capcom had more old games to release on PC. Shame at the moment nothing has come from that success.

did you guys forget SH2-4 came out on pc :p we had high res monitors back then
my memories of silent hill are all on console so as a matter of fact i did!

Well everybody is making mobas all around but I don't know if most know what made lol and dota so successful and what it takes for them to be dethroned.
But that's how it goes. They just die before their feet. Just like MMORPGS and wow.

I really should look into emulators, only tried once and that was a long time ago.
i dont think you can dethrone league with a moba tbh. like

70 million monthly players

there's no dethroning that

you can like make ur own thing some years down the line when the core league playerbase is smaller and those people are ripe for the taking, but you're not gonna take a stab at it right now when it's huge and it's free and it's not going away for a long while

and u should, emulators are awesome

It finally got a store page

as a ps1/n64 child i like this retro 3d stuff a lot

Killed Vordt second attempt ;)

Not sure if bad ass Souls veteran or if start of game is really easy =/
vordt is pretty easy, the next boss fight is quite a bit harder

Out of these, what do you guys think will be next for PC?

There are also Final Fantasy Tactics, Crystal Defenders, and Final Fantasy Dimensions that have existing mobile ports that might be prime candidates for a PC re-release.

Honestly, I kind of wish they'd port Secret of Mana instead of any of those. But in a pinch I'd take FFT of the existing ones.

But FF12HD would be my main pick, assuming they are making it.

Duck Dinasty @80%off... I wonder if its about to get removed soon.

That does tend to be Activision's pattern.

I fully expect to see everything from them with an android port on Steam eventually. Which means at least Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy Tactics.

It's a franchise pack. It's how they behave.

The real problem there is that you get the bloodsucker headsnap replacement for SR3 buying the pack.

Not a problem now that you can disable individual DLC. And Gat out of Hell is well worth $4ish, I got it for $5 on that price error when it released and loved every minute of it. It's a great bite sized Saints Row experience for that price.

It hasn't been out that long, game development takes time. Capcom has shown they are interested in continuing these ports as they pose almost zero risk.

Just be patient.
