Songs that were forever altered by their iconic use in TV/Film

I'm sitting at this coffee shop and Goodbye Horses by q lazzerus is playing and of course the first thing that pops into my head is buffalo bill dancing around in Silence of the Lambs. I can't separate the two. Are there any other songs that have become almost dependent on the other work for meaning or cultural relevance?

Other Examples:

Stuck in the Middle With You - Reservoir Dogs
In Your Eyes - Say Anything
Oh Yeah- Ferris Bueller

I'm not talking about songs like Bad to the Bone, Gimme Shelters, Born to Be Wild and iconic film songs that have been in everything (though their first use might fit). And songs written for movies are kinda cheating (Stayin' Alive, Don't You (Forget About Me))

Singing in the rain...and the movie is not Singing in the rain

I swear I had never heard Don't Stop Me Now until Shaun of the Dead. Almost feels like it single-handedly made it popular again, despite Queen never being out of fashion.

Don't Stop Believin' by Journey in the final scenes of The Sopranos. Can never listen to it now without thinking about that.

This one is good. It was big before but its become so associated with that its hard to remember what is was before.

I'm trying to think if I can think of any gaming ones but games didn't really use licensed music until recently so there's not much.

Bohemian Rhapsody and Wayne's World
It put the song back on the charts.

What Is Love and A Night at the Roxbury.

No one would've cared about Bohemian Rhapsody if it wasn't for Wayne's World.

Also, Where is My Mind in fight Club.

i think that o death was made for Supernatural so it doesnt count

Oh yeah, that was a cover of it made specifically for it. I mean it might kinda count considering it was a folk song before appearing on Supernatural. And it was used in Until Dawn pretty recently.

Whenever I hear Johnny B. Goode I always think of the end of Back to the Future as well.

Also I think most of the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack probably qualifies.

Graduate the whole Simon and Garfunkel soundtrack. I can't hear Sound of Silence and think of anything else but the movie.

As Time Goes By was all but forgotten until Casablanca came out.

I Will Always Love You was a respectable Dolly Parton song and then The Bodyguard happened.

Wayne's World, obviously.

Love and Marriage was a footnote until Married with Children.

Also Sprach Zarathustra

Unchained Melody - Ghost

I Like to Move It Move It

Kiss From a Rose

Stand by Me

Half of the entire soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy

I can't believe nobody has mentioned "Stuck In The Middle With You" by Stealers Wheel from Reservoir Dogs.

Nevermind, It's in the OP. Doh.

Personally speaking, the trailer for Suicide Squad changed Bohemian Rhapsody forever for me.

My second favorite song of all time masterfully used in a trailer for one of my most anticipated, if not my absolute most anticipated movie ever. Every time I listen to it I now think of the trailer and made me love the masterpiece EVEN MORE than I already did <3

'Til I Collapse by Eminem will forever remind me of that MW2 trailer. That was awesome, at the time.

A really crappy (ish) one, is Papa Roach's Last Resort reminding me of the closing scene in Jet Li's The One.

Anyway, the thread wasn't asking for my crappy personal throwbacks.

The Bohemian Rhapsody example is probably the best. It's basically become synonymous with that scene, and vice versa.

Stuck in the Middle by Steelers Wheels is another one, also from Reservoir Dogs, much like Little Green Bag too.

To be fair, most of Tarantino's films use their music in such a way, they kinda become synonymous with their relevant scenes. Jungle Boogey, the Ironside theme, Chuck Berry's You Can Never Tell...
