People are reading what he doesn't say.

Manipulating an electorate is like jazz, man. It's the notes you don't play.

Are... Are you saying that some people on here judge other people on here merely for what they don't say? Like, I'm not trying to be obtuse or anything, legitimately and because I want no misunderstandings, I am specifically asking if people get judged by what they don't post. Because isn't that ridiculous if you think about it?

According to the Parliamentary Authority found in section IV. a. the body is governed by The Charter and bylaws of the Democratic Party and the most recent edition of Robert's Rules of Order. According to such authorities, incidental motions such as Points of Order must be acknowledged if there is an appeal from the ruling of the chair (which there was)..

Where are you getting that from? My understanding of RRoO is that the chair must approve of any motion before it is allowed on the floor. The 20% alone outlined in the Nevada convention rules isn't enough to bring a motion to a vote.

This is exactly right. I'm TOTALLY FINE with Hillary winning Nevada. SHE WON NEVADA FAIR AND SQUARE.

However, the process on Saturday was completely fucked and indefensible, IMO.

Of course it's defensible. The correct amount of delegates was allocated according to the vote, and no one was harmed by the process.

While I'm not really "behind" any canidate at the moment, at least Bernie seems to care about people. Hilary doesn't care about the people. And Trump is the worst canidate I think I've ever seen, just an all around terrible human being.

Receipts?

Breitbart?? Really?

Still using Breitbart?

Oh boy.

If you can point out anything factually wrong in the following Breitbart quote I will be very impressed, but I won't be holding my breath ;):

At around 9:30 am, while many delegates were still in line to get in, the Nevada Convention Democrat Chairman Roberta Lange decided to hold a quick “voice vote” about whether to change the rules of the entire process. The vote was to essentially disregard the results of the second-tier county conventions — where Sanders’ had won —and only to only accept the results of the first-tier caucus that Clinton had won.

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
I don't think the majority were acting like children. I've personally reviewed six hours worth of footage during the convention (much of which I saw live), and their reactions were perfectly reasonable for the most part.

If that's what you consider reasonable, there is no having a discussion with you. Holy shit.
I'm out for the rest of the day until election results this evening.

"On Saturday, Sanders backers shouted down the keynote speaker, Sen. Barbara Boxer, and others they thought were tilting the rules in Clinton's favor. Protesters shouted obscenities and rushed the dais to protest rulings"

This is ok according to Brainchild. Will wonders ever cease?

what do you think about this AP article?

http://elections.ap.org/content/nevada-democrats-sanders-campaign-has-violent-streak

<LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada's Democratic party on Monday warned the Democratic National Committee that Sen. Bernie Sanders' supporters have a penchant for violence and may seek to disrupt the party's national convention in July, as they did during the Nevada convention Saturday.

The allegation is the latest fallout from a divisive Nevada Democratic convention that had to be shut down because security at the Paris Las Vegas hotel could no longer ensure order on Saturday night. The gathering closed with some Sanders supporters throwing chairs; later, some made death threats against state party chairwoman Roberta Lange.

Sanders' backers had been protesting convention rules that ultimately led to Hillary Clinton winning more pledged delegates. Clinton won the state's caucuses in February, 53-47, but Sanders backers hoped to pick up extra delegates by packing county and state party gatherings.

Sanders had released a statement Friday night asking supporters to work "together respectfully and constructively" at the convention. But the state party alleged in its letter to the co-chairs of the DNC Rules and By-laws committee, "The explosive situation arose in large part because a portion of the community of Sanders delegates arrived at the Nevada Democratic State Convention believing itself to be a vanguard intent upon sparking a street-fight rather than attending an orderly political party process."

Michael Briggs, a Sanders campaign spokesman, said, "We do not condone violence or encourage violence or even threats of violence." He added that the campaign "had no role in encouraging the activity that the party is complaining about. We have a First Amendment and respect the rights of the people to make their voices heard."

On Saturday, Sanders backers shouted down the keynote speaker, Sen. Barbara Boxer, and others they thought were tilting the rules in Clinton's favor. Protesters shouted obscenities and rushed the dais to protest rulings. The letter by the state party's general counsel, Bradley S. Schrager, warns that similarly chaotic scenes could unfold in Philadelphia, site of the Democratic National Committee's July convention.

"We believe, unfortunately, that the tactics and behavior on display here in Nevada are harbingers of things to come as Democrats gather in Philadelphia in July for our National Convention," Schrager wrote. "We write to alert you to what we perceive as the Sanders campaign's penchant for extra-parliamentary behavior — indeed, actual violence — in place of democratic conduct in a convention setting, and furthermore what we can only describe as their encouragement of, and complicity in, a very dangerous atmosphere that ended in chaos and physical threats to fellow Democrats."

Several Sanders backers have condemned some of the threats against Lange and other actions Saturday. Former state assemblywoman Lucy Flores, a current congressional candidate, said in a statement: "There were actions over the weekend and at the Democratic convention that very clearly crossed the line. Progressives need to speak out against those: Making threats against someone's life, defacing private property, and hurling vulgar language at our female leaders."

State party offices remained closed Monday for security reasons after Sanders supporters posted Lange's home and business addresses, email and cell phone number online. Copies of angry and threatening texts to Lange were included with the letter.

Lange said she'd been receiving hundreds of profanity-laced calls and texts from inside and outside of the U.S., threatening her life and her family. Lange said the restaurant where she works has received so many calls it had to unplug the phone.

"It is endless, and the longer it goes the worse it gets," Lange said in an interview. "I feel threatened everywhere I go.">

that is the definition of acting like children. it is indefensible behavior and your recent posts in this topic are disgusting as far as giving validity to their actions

I think this would be interesting. On one hand, it rewards the violence of Sanders' followers. On the otherhand, it's a good gesture for demonstrating how pathetic and reality warped Sanders camp has become thinking he has a chance that Hillary can just start handing him delegates like it's nothing.
Even better:
- Hillary stages a major rally
- says, "fine, take the two delegates. I don't need 'em."
- X number of superdelegates file onto stage, falling 1 short of nomination.
- and then the last superdelegate emerges: President Obama

(If we're gonna write fanfiction, why not go all-out?)

Still at the end of this day none of this surprises me.

The guy who was never a democrat and only joined the party last year for the purposes of raising money isn't going to drop out. Not sure why anyone is surprised by this outcome, he's going to take this garbage all the way to the convention regardless of the results.

Oh lord, if only. You're giving me a semi over here.

Seriously, I am just so sick of all of this shit. Just end it already.

Sanders for President is deep in their idea that Nevada is all Clinton's fault and she is running a smear campaign.

This really does echo the mindset of Republican vs Democrat.

I can’t help but wonder what kind of hate speech her supporters might unleash on me for asking a few pointed questions. A GQ reporter who dug into her family’s past—turning up the existence of a secret 50-year-old half-brother in her native Slovenia whom her father has never acknowledged—was subjected to anti-Semitic threats online. Of the GQ article, Melania says: “I have thick skin. It doesn’t bother me if they write about me because I know who I am. But what right does the reporter have to go and dig in court in Slovenia in 1960 about my parents? They’re private citizens. If they go after me, it’s different. But to do that, it’s a little bit nasty, it’s a little bit mean.” So if people put a swastika on my face once this article comes out, will she denounce them?

“I don’t control my fans,” Melania says, “but I don’t agree with what they’re doing. I understand what you mean, but there are people out there who maybe went too far. She provoked them.”

Mrs. Trump on NeoNazis targeting a female Jewish writer for writing an article that wasn't 100% praise to Mrs. Trump.

Man this primary has been fucking weird.
I remember 2008 being more contentious since it was actually close, but this isn't the same thing. It's just fucking strange in general.

Both sides have populist insurgents backed primarily by white voters trying to hijack the nomination.

One succeeded, one didn't.

This is the first real primary in the modern age of the internet

Gonna take away some real DANK MEMES from this primary.
One day I'll tell my grandkids about them.

Nah populism sentiments have been around forever, the fact that one is succeeding isn't anything I take as out of the ordinary. lol I didn't read the white voters bit on my first run damn son Yeah I'm not talking so much of the nationalism but I agree on that point, that's part of the issue that makes this such a weird year. In general the way everyone is acting though makes me feel like I'm watching a reality TV show more often than not.

Yep. Both Sanders and Trump cried the entire primary season about how the process was rigged. Only one of them is a winner though and had more votes than their opponents. I guess you need a revolution when you can't actually win through an election.

This one is. It's reactionary and when you look at the demographics, it tells a pretty stark story. These type of candidates have not gotten this type of success in prior elections.

According to Reddit, no chairs were thrown. It was one guy who they talked down and hugged it out with.

Okay, so no chairs.

What about the doxxing...?

Aye edited for the bit I clearly glossed over with my Nyquil induced haze.

The doxxing was actually done by Correct the Record/Hillary shills posing as Bernie supporters as a sort of false flag attack. Yeah...

I was surprised. Until his response today, and despite everything that's happened up til now, I thought he would tamp down the fervor of his most outspoken supporters, and that convention fights would never happen, because too much is at stake. I have been exasperated at him, but never aghast like today. I just still can't believe that response to violence and harassment.
