I'd imagine a super powerful third party friendly console that has all the hot AAA games coming out. Something like that.
They could call it the Gamecube. It's sure to be huge.

Yeah but they never said that the NX experience would be the same on the handheld as on the console, did they?didnt they said that is the same experience between Wii U and NX?
I guess the real question is what appeals to PS4 fans? AAA games? Shooters? Seems like a strange and general statement to make. I'd have asked him to clarify that a bit.
Also, the editor of that story also wrote one on the cost of the NX. He mentioned it on Twitter and had this to say:

No mention about Level 5 nor capcom.
Is MH jumping ship? Is the 3ds going to create a hard transition for NX in japan (Layton, snack world, megaton musashi)
Watch it be New Super Mario Bros.

Zelda would be good to get the hardcore games on board (which will likely lead the sales in the early months), so it would be a smart launch title. But if they really want to position the system towards families and smartphone gamers, they may have something else.
You almost have to wonder if Nintendo is working on a new Zelda game for the NX launch.
In what way? Here stops the hype train. Let the meltdowns begin!
Man, every Nintendo machine since gamecube is the same.
Couldn't they have different 'mobile looking' and 'console looking' versions of the same games (like what they showed with DQ XI)
I would love three Mario titles for the NX:
A "true" single player 3D Mario game, which is a sequel to 64/Sunshine/Galaxy.
Another isometric co-op game, a sequel to Super Mario 3D World/Land.
And another co-op 2D New Super Mario Bros instalment.
I really am craving for a proper 3D game again, but I love all 3 aspects of the franchise.
Better hope the Sterling recovers by the time the NX launches then otherwise Nintendo will be eating heavy loses just to please UK retailers.
So you want a clone of a console that is already made by two other companies?
And if you bought this console you'd stop buying the third party games on Xbone and/or PS4 and buy them on the Nintendo console instead?

Imagine: 3D Mario on console, 2D on handheld (same game)
3D style Zelda on TV, top-down of same game on handheld
It would be creative and could appeal to different markets with the same game.
Oh absolutely. I'm not doubting that at all. My point is that it's not a good idea to launch all your big sellers at once. Even 3D Land and MK7 were released a month apart (or maybe it was a few weeks).
Whose rumor? 10k or SuperMetalDave? lol
Activision bring the Skylanders and Warners bring the Legos I assume... ugh... I expect third party support for this thing to be garbage.
Not appealing to PS4 fans just means no David Cage-esque games where we press X to Mario. Not a big loss.
"Within 6 months" sound like "Enjoy Zelda at launch and hopefully we will have something else for you half a year later".

1. There are multiple form factors of the NX suited to peoples needs.
2.Eurogamer, MCV and Emily Rogers and the like know only about the handheld form factor of the NX and there is much more that they don't know or are refusing to tell us because of reasons unknown.
3. Nintendo is tirelessly working behind the scenes to ensure that the software, hardware exceeds their previous efforts and that their software partners output equal that quality out the gate. They've taken the message about their platforms lack of variety to heart and the launch lineup will reflect that. Nothing short of amazing is what they're striving for.
4. MyNintendo will play a major role in the NX. Cross platform saves, achievements (real world and in-game), and digital downloads will all be tied to the service.

Because it's only going to be a handheld. The expectation that Nintendo is also working on some sort of Neo-level hardcore gaming console also sharing the same codename is delusional. What you see is what you're getting.
That woul mean making two games but selling it as one. It's not going to happen.
Playing on the 'base' connected to the TV would trigger the 'console' version in my guess, since it will likely have more processing power.ah ok
but in your scenario, there are 2 NX variants?
or just by putting the NX on the Dock you play the console experince?
i rather play the wii u version then

This source make sense. It falls in line perfectly with Eurogamer spec rumors, Ubisoft president comments that "They'll regain the casual market" and Nintendo philosophy of not competing with Sony and MS.
And yes it is enough time. Game Freak works on more than one game at a time and there was a year break remember? It's not implausible at all that sun/moon 2 will be finished in 2017
Exactly... except it could happen.
Maybe Nintendo realizes that some people like 3D mario and others prefer 2D mario, for example. This would let them sell a game to both. They're not just spending more to develop, they are increasing the potential sales base. And I bet developing a 2D mobile version of a game is fairly cost-effective compared to a scaled-down port of a full 3D game.
Example of a game for NX that's already kind of like this: https://youtu.be/Ndi_46bKZVQ

Nobody said anything about "Neo-level" console. Not sure why this narrative keeps being created.
6 months can'tbe right. Mario should be their big November game. Odd move. What could possibly be their November game!?
Dunno if I should get Moon now or hold off. Although keeping Moon for a couple years on 3DS will be cool since the 3DS will mostly have Moon to itself. I could basically have the 3Ds be a Pokemon machine for a couple years hhmm..
