Been having nothing but problems with this game and Origin and I think I might just give up and uninstall it. The game doesn't launch 8 times out of 10, when it does it'll randomly crash once a map loads or the party system will fuck up and put everyone in separate matches in the same game mode, invites will be sent to some people but not everyone in a network, some people will be allowed to join a party while the option doesn't show up for others in Origin, random disconnects to the main menu, Origin crashes that won't let me log back into the client, the log-in screen will say "Your session has expired", can't join in progress if you're kicked because you're still taking up a player slot that can't be replaced. Tried to play ONE match during my Network's Happy Hour since it started and there's now 20 minutes to go and I've yet to play. I've repaired the installation and I'm at my wits end. I love the singleplayer but the multiplayer has just been a technical disaster for me.
That's really weird. I've had one crash in my 13 hours of game time, and that was when it was loading a multiplayer match.

"Your session has expired" seems like your account might have been compromised?

New Patch Update on PC for Titanfall 2:

Hey all, a new patch for the PC version of Titanfall 2 is now live. You will need to update for changes to take effect. See below for changes:

Titanfall 2 PC v2.0.0.7 Patch Notes 11.01.2016

Adaptive resolution scaling (requires TSAA enabled) - This feature allows the game to downscale the rendered image to help maintain a consistent framerate. This will be especially helpful for our users running lower spec video cards, allowing them to maintain 60fps more often, as well as those of you running 4K monitors with more midrange GPUs. Adaptive Resolution uses TSAA's resolve step to output to screen, thus the feature is only enabled when TSAA is enabled.

Word of warning: if you run a resolution or target framerate much higher than your machine will be capable of achieving you will be hindering image quality significantly as the Adaptive Resolution feature will be constantly downscaling your output to maintain performance. All systems will be different, so you should try different settings to see what works best for you and your configuration.

Other fixes in this patch. Thanks to all that have reported bugs and helped us identify these issues!

Same. I should probably try the other modes, but I've dedicated 100% of my multiplayer time to Attrition. That's all I need to be honest.

Yeah, it's really fun. I mostly want a TDM type mode and the bots make the maps feel more like a battlefield without being necessary for titan access. Bounty hunt in the beta boiled down to teams just sitting in their zones farming bots. I'm sure it's different now, but I haven't wanted to mess with it at all.

I'm extremely happy to hear that Respawn nailed the campaign. I'll definitely pick this up when it drops to $30 or so.

Quick question for anyone who might be in the know. Do we have any idea why Titanfall 2 got to skip EA Access? It seems odd to me that EA "locked in" a release date for the game, but let Respawn opt out of EA Access.

As it is, they dropped the game between BF and CoD without a trial or discount for Access subscribers. I'm not sure if that would have made a huge difference in their slow-to-start sales, but I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt.

Maybe let me rephrase - if you could tell someone new to Titanfall 2 some basic tips to survive longer or handle their titans more effectively, what would you suggest?

Titan advantage is the number one thing I would say to do. What I mean by that is to try to have more titans on the field than your opponents. If I'm playing alone, I very seldom drop a titan unless my team has more titans either on the field or built up than the other team.

I have seen titan advantage turn a losing match into a winning one a lot of times.

For pilot play it's mostly about positioning, always be moving, and find a gun that suits your play style. For me, it's smg, because of hip fire accuracy. I like being able to get the drop on an opponent because I can accurately shoot them before they can even ADS. Shotgun can probably be played the same way, but I don't use it much.

Currently radar jammer is useless, wouldn't the best fix for Map Hack be to have radar jammer counter it?

Map Hack should just be removed to be completely honesty. There are enough of those damn sonar blades being spammed everywhere constantly... there is no need for the Map Hack. Would rejoice if it was nuked from orbit.

Any updates regarding the server timeouts a lot of us are having? Radio silent on the official bug report forum and there seems to be more and more if us reporting it, across all 3 platforms. Just sold my ps4 so won't be playing it again till the 10th on the Pro.

Really hope it's fixed by then.

part of it is learning the maps, where the typical hiding places are. SMGs like the Volt and the Car are the best 'all-rounder' weapons that can help you continually sprinting/strafing/wall-running in tight corridors and hip-fire your opponents. Wait for teammates to have a titan or two before dropping your own. Use Tone, as I think it's a good mix of defense and long range attack for beginners. it's also a pilot killing machine. I like the Dash-Core feature, as that extra dash is reaaaaaally useful for escaping and closing down titans/pilots.

Probably learn the maps through Bounty-Hunt, as that's the mode that I think both teaches you the maps and provides less bonus for simply killing other pilots. In Amped Hardpoint, I always love a player who sits on the closest point at the beginning of the map. If s/he can keep that point through most of the match I know my team will win. As a more attack minded player (in this game), it gives me free reign to fuck with the opponent's main base and/or B depending on how the other team is playing.

That being said, I played with a Gen4 player yesterday who was GOD-like. He single-handedly distracted three players on a point preventing us from Amping while Phase shifting and wall running around a base. (If I had my satchel power up, he would have been toast...but alas I regened to G2).

Maybe let me rephrase - if you could tell someone new to Titanfall 2 some basic tips to survive longer or handle their titans more effectively, what would you suggest?

1. Like Obi-Wan, get the high ground. When perched on a rooftop, players on the ground are easy targets. Stay up high whenever possible.

2. Keep track of your radar to identify the direction of enemy threats.

3. As a titan, play to your strengths. For example, don't pick a direct fight unless you can tip the odds in your favor with something like Tone's particle wall or Legion's gun shield. If I'm an Ion, I don't want to engage another titan head on unless they're low on health. Trading hits with a titan of roughly equal health doesn't really get you anywhere. In this situation, I would either look for flanks, or stick to long range laser shots to protect myself while still dealing damage. But if I'm Tone, for example, I'm looking to get directly in other titans' sightlines because I can drop that shield and fire away with no fear.

PSA: You can change HUD options on Xbox One.

Settings > Audio/Video > HUD Options

It brings up a series of options which you can see below.

Being on high ground also makes you a target to every titan and pilot looking to take you out, so you have to be careful about that.

On that note I sometimes think of the titan as a tank, and a tank is most secure when firing from a position where only the cannon is exposed (hull down). So try to make use of the map geometry to expose as little as possible of the top of your titan whenever possible.

Game is much improved from the Beta, really enjoying it. Shame it's gonna sell really bad but word of mouth could help it a lot. Some of the stuff I'm seeing on twitter about it though is utterly disgusting.

Also the way the AI spawns in Bounty Hunt makes them easy to find and more enjoyable to shoot at, as he way the AI spawns on Attrition can often feel a bit sparse.

I noticed this as well. I'm still digging Attrition, but it seems like they increased the size of the maps without increasing the amount of AI so the maps feel empty at times.

I liked the focused hot points in Bounty Hunt, but i don't care for the camping that's encouraged around the banks.

There were a few crazies who were furious they posted a picture of a PS4 disk. Fucking pathetic.
Sounds like he's joking with the overuse of !'s but I don't know why you go on their twitter, they are all toxic... That group of people are the worst :/

The whole PS4 disc nonsense might honestly be the stupidest shit ever... Like I can't believe people get mad over that.

I just saw this specific picture get thrown around on Twitter.

Also, is it "disc" or "disk"?

He's not. Read through his tweets. He's like Tim Dog v2.

oh yeah I'd definitely take that too but I think there's almost a 0% chance they remove anything

That PC patch sounds awesome. I was wondering how Adaptive Resolution gets enabled- GeForce Experience lists it as an option but I couldn't find out anything about it.

Hopefully the performance improvements are noticeable, especially on lower end GPUs.

From his Twitter... self described as "One of the most controversial game related YouTube personalities."

Isn't that Sterling's job title? I'm not sure we should take anything he's saying as serious judging from his posts lol.

I'd say to focus on the strengths of the different tactic abilities, boosts and titans. Co-operation seems to make more of a difference in Titanfall2, especially with stuff like pulse-knife, Titan batteries, complementary Titan specificities,...
The game is more complex all around, especially for Titans which have more abilities. Maybe focus on one titan and take the time to master it, using all its tools.
