I just tried out Tropico 5.
That has pretty bad frame-rate issues when your island was built up.
With Boost mode its a lot smoother. However, there is still under 30 dips going on.

Hey...I don't know why anyone would buy a Slim over a Pro. I think its a dumb idea.

But for someone to be like..well if you only listened to me you wouldn't have this problem..I would be like 1) I have no idea who you are and 2) There are 100,000 posts on GAF, sorry I haven't read them all..especially a single sentence in a post in an Arkham City video analysis thread.

Hot dayum! That's a great question.

I have both a pro and the game, but I cant even be bothered to figure out how that code begging thread works, so I'll just wait for impressions.

doesn't really require much. add your name to a doc list and wait for your turn so the ID pass from one user to the next. but you gonna be waiting 1 day at least or so .

Tried Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. It still runs like a musou game (quite tragically for a pretty basic last Gen port), but hits 60fps more frequently in calm zones.
Thanks! Now just waiting for Samurai Warriors 4 impressions... :D

Played Marvel Ultimate Alliance with Boost Mode. It was a shitty port that now runs smooth as hell (locked 60fps). The loading times are especially funny. They went from 10s to 3s-5s lol
Oh damn, I forgot that one had an unlocked framerate. This is interesting! It hovered around 30-40fps most of the time with tons of spikes all over the place.

Of course, but not all pro patches are using the full strength of the GPU and CPU......

Boost mode is basically hit the ceiling......

That's not actually how computing devices work, well for the most part.

Also if there's any situation in which the full strength isn't being used, it's the other way around, where boost mode is likely giving the system access to the increased clock speeds but not new hardware features accessible via native Pro support because they would need engine changes to utilize.

I'm still genuinely curious as to what you think boost mode is, and what you think native pro support is (or pro patches if you prefer).

Can anyone tell if this is legit, sorry on mobile right now.

I also just finished my first playthrough and cant remember if there are spots that are particularly agregious

30fps video. Those are somehow useless for games with uncapped framerates. All we can see is whether the game drops below 30fps or not.

I wanna know this and Orochi 3 but no one will test and report :(

It's sad that these games will never get some coverage. :/ We really need more sites like DF which cover these sort of games aswell and also share some love to handhelds.

Perhaps. But in this instance he was actually right lol.

lol...he wasnt RIGHT about anything...all he said was Sony MIGHT release an update allowing access to the hardware lol...

EVERYONE knew this was possible (just like the Xbone S) and that the only reason Sony HAD NOT done it, was because they were being conservative...Cerny even said it himself...

the hardware has always been capable of this from day 1...but Sony said they found some weird things that happened, thats the reason for the disclaimer when you turn on the setting...but they have given in to what was most likely external pressure, and allowed it to be turned on...anyway, thats all that im gonna say regarding this

PS4? Why? Nothing changed. Jealous of a minor power update with PS4Pro? Wait for Scorpio.

Given that the games in question are unpatched titles, waiting for Scorpio isn't going to do anything?

Year 1/2/3 titles that are framerate locked and without a patch will be slightly better on Pro then Scorpio, so I'm not even sure what you're trying to get at.

Question.

Son just today got his Pro, would he be able to sign in with my account, grab the beta fw, then remove my acc and contimue with his?

He has an obsession with being "right" and has some Nostradamus complex where he likes to pretend he predicts things are going to happen...

In reality he just makes random, vague statements, rarely based on any evidence whatsoever, and then gets to quote himself all over threads when he was "right."

In this case "boost mode" was something everyone knew was possible
Yea not this BS again. You've been following onQ into every thread he's in to shit on whatever he says. You have an obsession with proving him wrong. In reality, he doesn't make vague posts, he is very specific with what he says. From the whole FP16, "Uprendering", Checkerboard rendering, to this very thread we are in. There is no mistaking whatever he says.

Don't lie, boost mode wasn't something that everyone thought was possible. In fact i remember that thread with a lot of discussions when PS4 Pro was revealed to not allow older games without Pro support to use the full power. The main argument that time was that games would break (still true) because PS4 games use lower level access when compared to the Xbox One S situation.

Why do you care so much? It comes across a bit sad tbh.

Just let the man be right about a prediction he made. You're making a way bigger deal out of it.

Need a sale on this asap. And not that 20% bullshit.

But he said that it might be a sneak update. And that is exactly what Sony has done - there was no mention of the Pro boost mode in beta update playstation blog post.

I honestly think a few of my post made that guy cry in the past because he is still following me talking to the air because I been stop listening

3D movies in VR are pretty amazing. I haven't felt about 3D movies like this since I saw Avatar in theaters..
.. and the sad part is I spent a couple grand on a 3DTV a few years ago and the 3D pales in comparison to what I'm experiencing right now. Welp, I guess I'll be selling this TV when I move out lol

Its a use at your own risk toggle but the most it could do is cause a game to crash.

I'm amazed that no one has reported any bugs yet but I guess it was too big of a risk to come out the gate with this not knowing what bugs it was going to cause & giving PS4 Pro a bad name at launch.

Hopefully they are also testing virtual super resolution & other driver level features that can be turned off & on by the user.

There's been report of at least 2 games crashing. And i could swear i saw some rendering issues with Driveclub running in boost mode, that or it could be youtube compression messing with the video.

I mainly lurk and I swear it seems like either you or someone else are always bothered and obsessed with trying to prove the man wrong for w/e reason. The guy gets ridiculed about something he says in the past and then when time shows he was right then I see folks spinning it as if it was a mere guess,he's full of it blah blah. Let the man live. You guys come off as straight up haters in my eyes and it's embarrassing.

So I'm told easiest way to get a custom background on in 4.5 is to open a 1080/4K image in the browser and take a screenshot, then set screenshot as BG image.

Static theme creators are going to be pretty steamed :p

Now just gotta wait for a code or someone to hit me up with a 4.50 burner so I can mess around myself
