The most we know is that basically cross-classes will now go into the common pool and are unlocked for all jobs that need them rather than requiring you to obtain them separately from classes they're initially attached to.
Gold Saucer unlock quest is in Ul'dah, should be pretty close to the main aetheryte.

Resubbed to the game today after quitting right before Heavensward as a lvl 37 Warrior and I'm not sure about my class at the moment (iirc last time I played people got pissed at me for somethig during a raid).
I've read that it's smart to get the Brand-new Ring from the Hall of the Novice before leveling another classes so that will be my first goal.

I believe the ring will only boost you until lvl 30 and WAR is supposedly THE offtank in raids so shouldn't be any problems with how desirable they are.

I'll probably start to level an Archer or Thaumaturge with the ring.
Isn't the tank role supposed to be the hardest one to play in MMORPGS with keeping the aggro all the time? This is the first MMORPG for me and I'm not sure about all the roles yet, have to read some guides/watch videos in the next few days.
Being able to coordinate with people over voice chat makes a world of difference (even though I tend to call out literally every important healing move I make when I'm playing Scholar) because my FC friends can always call out mechanics or tank busters and direct them to me and vice versa.
Yeah if you already did the quest and changed Grand Companies you don't need to do it again. Just go to your GC area and look for the door nearby to enter your barracks.

Oh do they only send them out once a week? That would explain why the person I had one sent to never got it before they resubbed the next day.
Well that is what I am thinking based on my Google searching but I haven't found a definitive answer other than potentially every Tuesday.

I like how even with the mog station store they still give us free stuff every so often with the events.

Just hopped onto the FFXIV hype train, got FFXIV and the Heavensward expansion. League of Legends finally bored me after playing it for 5 years, game is pretty stale now, and I want to keep playing something on my PC other than BF1 and FFXIV looks great. Going to be my first MMO ever really, I played around with WoW back in middle school but I never got into it.
What are some tips for newcomers?
Is there a 3rd party voice program the fanbase prefers?

Ugh I hate racist trolls and asshole players when running Alex. The racist ones caused group to wipe because they weren't following mechanics and then the asshole was commenting on a scholars healing even though it was fine and the fight was finished.
Sometimes it sucks dealing with shitty players in the community.

You should have no issues on medium with this setup.

Starting areas don't really matter, you'll visit the rest with Main Scenario eventually.
Make sure to do your class quests to unlock important skills.
Ignore non-vital sidequests, Main Story, Dungeons & Job Quests should be your priority unless you're unlocking stuff that's useful & helpful. Palace of the dead for example Also this is REALLY good for starting classes if you're wanting to practice your class and get a good feel for it.
Your settings should be fine for Medium/High.
Also Guilds (Free Company) might randomly invite you to theirs as you progress through the game. If you're not up for joining until later then just decline.
Most Free Companies & Players use Discord but I do know a few that use Teamspeak too.

It took many attempts in the Character Creator. At first I was a Highlander, then Midlander, Miqo'te, then Au Ra when Heavensward came out then I eventually settled on what you see now.
Don't think I'm going to be making any further changes.
Biggest tip I can give is to start fresh multiple times in the CC and try to go for different options. Make a bunch of different characters and save what you like then narrow the list down after you've made a handful. I think this way you usually discover some good combinations that weren't apparent on your first attempt at making a character.

Exactly what I did with my Elezen and I haven't really seen anyone that exactly looks like her. I appreciate people that take time to create their characters so they don't end up looking as bland as an npc. This happened with my first hyur... she looked so bland and generic. Also, I agree... niice catgirl!

I haven't seen a character that looks like mine yet so I'm pretty happy and thanks again.
Gpose is one of the best features they have added for a while
