You can't complain the 2nd half is bad if all of them are bad.

I love the Marvel Movies but it seems i can't get into their Netflix stuff. I only finished Daredevil Season 1. The rest i started and never finished. I knew that Iron Fist will be the same after the first Trailer. They should ask FX for help Legion is so much better.

Lol at these reviews. It's beautiful to watch a presumably bad show get destroyed.
Honestly from the first trailer it looked iffy at best.

If they had to go the white rich guy (instead of reboot the character ala Nick Fury) route at least cast a compelling actor to play Danny and go balls deep into the mystical side of things.

From the looks of it they did neither.

So this is just like DD but without good action. Or JJ without a good lead or villain. Or LC without the good first half.

Oh dear.

I'm upset because I'm like even if this is bad, we'd still have the action to go off of. But apparently we can't even get that...

Same, aside from JJ which I felt did Alias' tone pretty well the rest have really missed what I love about the characters they're adapting. Who the heck wanted a Defenders show when they could've made a Heroes for Hire show anyway?

Worse than Luke Cage? Oh, my.

I just finally watched Luke Cage a couple of weeks ago while recovering from surgery. Since I can't take painkillers, surgery recovery is pretty dang rough, but not nearly as rough as the acting or dialog in Luke Cage.

Well shit. They are calling this the worst Netflix Marvel show to date and while I enjoyed Luke Cage and Jessica Jones I thought those 2 already had some major issues (Diamondback / pacing)

So for this to be substantially worse than both those is a major bummer

Both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage were treading water for me. When I have to force myself to finish a series that's not a good look. The previews sound deadly. Do we at least get a great villain? That's what carried JJ for me at least.

DD remains the best of the MCU Netflix shows imo.

Yikes, this doesn't sound good at all - a damn shame. I didn't mind Luke Cage & enjoyed it's campy nature, but I'm not sure I'll be able to slog through this.

People called Romanes they go the house?
Ugh, that sucks, but the early previews didn't wow me either.

JJ had a weak middle with the switch of focus to Killgrave and his trying to 'become a good person' or what have you, but I thought JJ was the best at really keeping things 'street level', at least with the detective/private eye aspects.

But when you take someone like Iron Fist, with so much potential mysticism therein, and just....apparently ignore/downplay it (and tbf, I can see them trying to not come across as insensitive or what have you)...that's not gonna fly well.

Especially if there's not a lot of action, or that Danny's actor is bland as all get-out.

This sounds like a cluster fuck all round based on the first half of the season. You know, the bits everyone will end up watching. Second half may be great for all we know but most won't stick around if the first eps suck. I watched the shitty part of Luke Cage because the first half was so good.

Or will we all hate watch?

The way I see it, shit must be really wry for critics to finally start blasting a Marvel/Netflix product, specially after all the lauding of horribly flawed (if not downright rotten) series like JJ, Daredevil and Luke Cage.
Finally, some sanity. I put up with DareDevil and really wanted to like it, but it was just about average. Then JJ was terrible, and I couldn't get past the first two episodes of Luke Cage.

These comic book TV series (also Flash/Arrow) keep getting hyped and I don't get why.

At least you can talk. Who are you?

I'll hate watch the hell out of it if I need to. Danny ties in to the Defenders pretty heavily apparently.

From the sound of it, there isn't any real villain in at least the first half of the series.

All I wanted were good kung-fu action sequences. The least they could have done was hire a competent action director and have the show ride off that. But nooooooo

I've never listened to internet critics and from some light research this show seemed like it was steeped in controversy from the casting, Are online sites doing a hit job on Marvel/Netflix because of this ... I hope not, it would be a shame if reviewers where that shallow. But i dont think that the people at Netflix and Marvel could be so blind as to let something with such low quality be released, especially when they are trying to cement their heels into big budget TV shows. Something tells me this will be a fans love but critics hate type of show..
Fans want crazy Kung fu action and magic. This show from the reviews tells me it had none of that, at least from the first half.

First misstep?

Lol OK
lets pretend JJ and LC were good

They are flawed shows but there are people in this very thread saying they liked/loved them. They were also both received well by critics and viewers overall. One of the bad reviews for Iron Fist refers to JJ as "a revelation."

So instead, let's not pretend your opinion is fact. :p

Everyone wanted Immortal Iron Fist, they got Arrow 2.0

And everyone was worried about the race thing...

Now it's the quality of the show itself.

I think you're ascribing too much power to the... Asian American agenda? I don't believe most people care enough for there to be a spontaneous review conspiracy.

what happened? does the show lose its focus after five episodes and meander mindlessly for the remaining eight, culminating in a final confrontation that has no weight?

Sounds like it never gets it's focus.

Damn, when it was first announced I was worried it wouldn't capitalise on the mystical stuff, and run the risk of just being a rehash of Daredevil (which is really fucking good - yes, even S2).

I hadn't counted on it being a bad rehash of Daredevil. This showrunner must really be something.

Save us, Punisher.
