I hope they do, Phil would drag their asses.

They can do whatever stupid legal plan they have in their heads, I just hope the kids are able to get out before then. I can't help but imagine it's only going to get worse for them after this has blown up, and them being on the losing end of a lawsuit too... I don't even want to imagine.

From what I've read from Reddit, DO5 is planning to sue Phil D.

I've had to make all the videos private so we're losing money now. We're gonna have to start selling off stuff. Including our kids electronics just to be able to have a roof over our heads. As much as I hate to do this it's something we'll have to start doing soon. Unless we get enough support from you guys.

Is that a threat?, wtf is wrong with these people.

Why do youtubers insist on having these jarring cuts every 3 seconds? It makes listening to them a pain

I've seen what it looks like without editing. See: some of boogie's videos. And I gotta say his shift from looking happy and energetic to looking like someone killed his parents before a transition is less than ideal. I can appreciate cuts for that reason. I'm so used to them by now though.

Good on Phil for bringing this up to a wider audience. Not a fan of him trying to amateur diagnose that poor kid in the second video though, especially based off what his abusive parents said. You can paint a picture of the abuse without that. Sort of irresponsible given the subject matter. Kid has more than enough to deal with already.

For the kids sake, I hope they get taken away soon and are given professional help ASAP. I can only imagine the toll this will take on them in the future.

Watched that h3h3 video and what the fuck? The kids clearly aren't faking those reactions.

The worst part is - if these parents pull these "pranks" so often, why do the kids always "play along" like it's real? Gee, I wonder if it's because the parents get legitimately angry at them all the time so they never know whether it's a joke or not...

Read through the thread and didn't see anybody outright defend this. Good job gaffers.

Cody in particular needs to be a way from these abusive parents.

Playing a harmless trick on your kids is one thing, but any normal parent would feel like shit if they brought them to tears. These parents seem to really enjoy watching their kids cry, especially Cody. It's emotional abuse through and through. Poor kids.

Yeah, and the "dad" is getting off on it. What a psychopath.

I'm the only one who don't find any of those "prank your children" videos funny at all? Even the mild ones like giving them empty box for christmas instead of what they asked disgust me. Making your child emotional distressed while you laugh and film it to the word to see(who include their peers and teachers) make me wonder who is the real child there.

A good prank to pull on your child:

Get them into the car like it is a normal school day. Start driving for the airport and wait for them to notice that you are going the wrong way. Surprise, you're going to Disney World! Then you actually go to Disney World and have a beautiful family vacation where they make memories about the best prank mom and/or dad ever pulled.

You would be a nice parent.

A good prank to pull on your child:

Serve them a spaghetti dinner. Surprise! It's spaghetti squash instead of pasta. Don't tell them until they've eaten a bunch already.

I'm really glad they're being put on blast for this. I heard about them through the h3h3 vid and was immediately shocked to hear Ethan say they have a big following, considering that the video he & Steve-o were analyzing was child abuse incarnate on film.

I expect them to sell Cody if they don't get support at this point. Bunch of scumbags. They obviously don't care at all for the kid.
And they'll film it telling him they are going to Disney world instead. Then they reveal they lied and kick him out of the car.

Someone did a video like that many years ago.

I just read this on another site:

Cody and his sister were originally with their biological mother, who sent them to spend six months with their father to bond, and never got them back. The step-mother (the woman in the videos) then used her legal advantages to take control of their custody.

If that's true that's a whole different level of disturbing behavior.

You should watch the 3 Philip DeFranco videos in the OP too, he goes more in depth.

Example of a dad prank well done : https://youtu.be/OoOlFJwUb48

Proof that you can embarrass your kids and laugh with them.
Okay, that was hilarious 😄

My mom did this and I would consider it abuse of the highest order

I just feel horrible for Cody, he needs to get away from that 'family' ASAP.

That older kid who fucking body slammed and seems to be the main one abusing Cody is horrible too.

GOD DAMN this has all ruined my day.

"One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. 'Oh no,' I said, 'Disneyland burned down.' "He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. 'I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late."

One of my friends is notorious about his hate for cheese. No allergy, just the taste. It has always been kind of his thing. Then one day some of our friends served him a burger and he loved it. He opened it up to see what was in it to find cheese. Cheddar. Dude just left the house and went home without saying a word.

I'm a single father of 2 girls (7 & 9) and I've been a student of the brain and human development for some years now and watching these videos was pretty ruff. So much shit on multiple levels. The actions, words, tonality, intentions, unconscious processes being displayed and conveyed was some ruff ass shit. I have no clue how these people have had a channel this long on youtube.

Some posters above are saying Cody and the girl are step children to the mother. Would explain quite a bit in why they are targeted which makes the whole shit even worse.
