A few months ago i asked the contact about some concept art that was belived to be leaked from Fromsoft's next IP (its not) and i asked them to reiterate whether or not we'd see said ARPG project this year and whether or not it would be around E3 or TGS, they said they weren't comfortable discussing such details but not to hold my breath.
So, im going to say 2018 for reveal.

Maybe I didnt look back far enough but I thought you were saying it was just not happening at all. I can wait for whatever they are cooking up with Japan Studio/Sony.

Bloodborne 2 is not
A Fromsoft ARPG is
Whether or not its a sony collab i don't know
It just seems unlikely that the ARPG will be shown this year.

Would this contact be aware of what all the teams at From are working on? Could it be possible that his knowledge is limited to certain projects?

Seriously what is going on with the FROM rumors from people who claim to be insiders? We are hearing so many conflicting things.

First a developer says that he is 99% certain that Bloodborne 2 will get announced at E3. Then we have another one saying that Bloodborne 2 is not happening. Then we have another one saying that FROM's ARPG probably won't be at E3 but wait! FROM will be at E3 in some capacity. Then we have another one saying that FROM x Sony is coming. And in top of all that an other member in a Bloodborne 2 thread was saying that he heard from a friend over Bend that Demon's Souls Remastered is getting announced at E3 along Demon's Souls 2.

Well, one of the questions i asked them was whether or not we'd get Bloodborne 2 or more souls games/spinoffs, and out of all the answers i got that was the clearest and most decisive.
I have no idea on their position within or in relation to the company, theyd like to protect their identity which is understandable so that's not information theyre going to give out.

But using logic. Fromsoft had 260 employees, we know they're working on three projects. 260/3 is 86 which is about the average dev team size for a triple A game.

I don't think they have the man power to work on that many games. But lets say hypothetically they have 3 games in full development right now and maybe a few more in a prototyping/idea phase and one of those projects will start development when one of the current ones is close to launch. But that's not fuel for more Bloodborne rumors, but maybe more unrelated ARPGs.

Edit: I can tell you right now that Demon Souls 2 is not happening either, remaster is a maybe.

If From shows up at E3 itll be for Armored Core, likely with VR support and on Sony's stage.,

Do you think that Demon's Souls 2 could happening without FROM? I mean it is Sony's IP after all.

Thank you. I never really expected a demon souls 2 but a remaster would be awesome.

Yeah, i also don't think they will go ahead with these two games without FROM. Anyway, whatever FROM does (especially in the RPG gerne) i will be there day one. I was a little dissapointed when you said that they will not announce their next ARPG at E3. I thought a reveal now was more likely since DS3 launched one year ago but i guess they are still not ready.

Disclaimer: Demon Souls remaster is a maybe only because Miyazaki said he would be okay with an external studio doing such a thing. So that's not out of the question.

I mean, Demon Souls was a sony exclusive, they then went on to make Dark Souls multiplat and Dark Souls is practically Demon Souls 2.0. After the first Dark Souls Sony asked them for another exclusive game and Fromsoft gave them Bloodborne. So never say never.

Miyazaki himself said he doesn't want to do sequels at the moment. We know that he's working on two new IPs and Armored Core, so unless Sony is making Bloodborne 2 themselves, which I hope not, it's not gonna happen anytime soon.

A lot of pc gamers are vehemently against the prospect of Sony getting another exclusive from From so not surprised with responses like that.

The project beast reveal leak in 2014 was hilarious in that aspect

That hasn't stopped Nintendo from getting tons of exclusives from various Japanese devs as big as From Software. Sony is no exception.

I tend to believe they might show their ARPG. FROM doesn't reveal their ARPGs in anything other than CGI form these days and if there is indeed a Collab effort with Sony, they kind of need it. We already know most of what Sony's first party is working on so they'll most likely lean on their second party efforts for announcements.

Armored Core could maybe show up in the VR section of E3 if they push it, but as an overall announcement it's not high profile enough for Sony's stage.

This is of course all my opinion.
