I love how they redesigned him!! I'm always excited to see Final Fight characters get in to Street Fighter. This raises my hopes for Poison and Sodom.

Using YouTube "dislikes" from salty fanboys as a indicator for success is too hilarious. At least Abigail is original if anything so I'm looking forward to see how he fares.

What's hilarious is how you're out here still trying to be Clark Kent towards this game and you won't let anyone's negative opinions of it be their opinion. If people dislike it then they can dislike it as they have a right to. Secondly, nowhere did I say a thing towards success, I said that there's more dislikes than likes and that's a fact, more people even dislike it in this thread than liking it.

I stick by my statement, seems the dislikes have only gotten worse. Yikes lol.

He who pursues two rabbits gets two rabbits.
I mean I actually really appreciate that they went with 5 new characters for S2, but not all of them can be winners.

Is this a super strong but mentally disabled (mind of a child) trope? Because it looks pretty offensive.

at least Max Hass was a heartwarming example of being handicapped this just seems to be for humour.

Hopefully I'm wrong

A green dude in pants? Fuck Capcom.
A goofy bald indian that stretches limbs? Fuck Capcom.
A fat sumo guy that makes stupid faces? Fuck Capcom.
A muscle bearded russian that dances with Gorbachov? Fuck Capcom.

Thanks god people around here are not in charge, otherwise everythingl would be bros and waifus.

The FGC is just too dumb sometimes. I imagine Menat (the next character) will be received well due to her being a female with nice "assets".

Abigail's design is supposed be ridiculous though, that's exactly the sort of design philosophy from the late 80's / early 90's. It's great.

He looks tired

What's with this character and tires. What an odd aesthetic.

Can a man not love tires in peace? I'm offended by your assumptions.

It's a tired trope

We are in the cycle, people

Whine about the character choice/inclusion
Play him or her
Turns out they are fun
Riot if they don't show up in the sequel

Why Capcom, if you have to dig into your past franchise how about something a bit different....like Mack The Knife from Captain Commando or something!!

That's cool and everything but its still a lame name for a fighter. Like, when I hear the name Abigail I think of some little old lady of some 16 year old girl with an obsession with terrible young-adult novels. Not a ten foot monster of a man.
Well yeah and then this monster comes around the corner - *vroom vroom*

The fact that a 10 foot tall man is named Abigail is the best aspect of Abigail tbh.

That's the point.

This makes me wonder how many of the newbies could become franchise mainstays. RASHIDO I think has the highest chance of being part of SF's iconic lineup, then Necalli and Laura. From S2 I think nobody so far.

This probably my least favorite fighting character design, except maybe Hsu Hao.
Hes so disgusting to look at, at least make his head bigger.

Ed had potential had they used the younger version of him

Isn't CC in the FF continuity? Guy's descendant is supposed to be in that game so maybe they didn't wanna fuck with the timelines.

Really? I'm almost positive Ed is a lock for future games. Obviously I could end up being wrong, but that's what I believe.

I actually love the design but Im also a big Hugo fan, hopefully one of his alt coloers is the same as Hugo's default. This is the character that will push me into buying the season 2 pass (I realize I can buy them separately).

I feel like Ed is a good candidate to not make it in the story tbh.

Just because of his aging, him being a target for Bison and how he doesn't fit into the SF3 storyline.

Now that I'm finally hearing this, I love the actual music itself, but I don't like the vocals at all. They remind me of Megadeth, but with the really high pitched vocals that are my least favorite aspect of early metal.

Ed has "future protagonist/antagonist" written all over him. Hell, he even has his own Guardians of the Galaxy.

Of all of the newcomers, this is who I think has the best chance of returning, in order:

-Rashido
-Ed
-Kolin (assuming future games focus on the Illuminati)
-FANG
-Laura
-Necalli (like Seth, he's clearly a one-and-done plot device)

Ed is in the process of building his own Four Kings. He's absolutely being set up for future storylines.

I think he looks kind of dumb visually speaking, but his moveset seems cool enough. Not gonna make me jump back in, but he does look kind of interesting.

He's so huge, though. Like, how can you even jump over him? lol

Gross. Who asked for this... thing? D:

They already effed the timeline in SFIV and SFV by having characters from Alpha series and III together and none of them aged.

So if the mods give Abigail an overwatch skin, would it be fair to say that this one definitely will be a Reinhardt skin? While Zangief works well with that skin, it now feels like Abigail is more suited...

As for his playstyle, I'll admit that I had a good laugh since it feels like the perfect evolution of having a Hugo character that is even more exagerated. Still though, I do wonder about the design himself and him having bigger arms than the size of some of the cast.

Still, with the way they teased Abigail and the design he had before we saw this, I feel like we should have one of those "Get ripped in six weeks" meme since it is a rather staggering difference.

I personally love King Diamond's vocals. The early Mercyful Fate/ King Diamond albums are among some of the best metal albums IMO.

Rashid & Ed have the best chances at becoming mainstays. Ed in particular is setting up a new arc after the Illuminati. Kolin also has a shot if the Illuminati continues to be a thing post-SFIII.
