bc2 multiplayer is awesome as hell, but you can't expect random people who just bought the game to work together well. find people on gaf to play with.

That´s so true, when me and my brother just started yesterday playing it online, we were like, WTF are we supposed to do?!? One must familiarise himeself with that game.

steam, why are you so money-hungry?!?!

almost did but the 30GB download held me at bay, that's a little less than 1/3 of my monthly limit... (Canada is the suxxor for ISP's)

I have been playing the heck out of Dead Rising 2 and Defense Grid whenever I have the chance. This is my first holiday Steam sale, I really appreciate some of these deals. Once I am done with DR2 I've got Darksiders, Bully, and Dragon Age to jump into. Hooray!

I'm really happy I got the games I wanted in this sale and more importantly that my 4 year old system that has only seen minor upgrades (Up to 6 GB of RAM from 2 GB, now using an HD 4670 1 GB instead of the old Geforce 7600 GT 256 MB) can run all of these games @ 1280 without a hitch. Pair it with a wired 360 controller and it's more fun than I had anticipated.

Um its 11GB

seriously?!?!? I read a Gaf post that it was 30gb and didnt bother to check :lol

Thankfully I am safely at work and will not be able to make the purchase before the 1pm changover. I would purchase and very likely never play it, I have at least 10 games from last year that have been unplayed

So far my damage has been minimal:

Tomb Raider
SMB
King Authur

Heh, I've bought 22 games this sale.. And I haven't played but one so far - Defense Grid. It's so oddly addicting and awesome.. Already went back and bought all the DLC. Best $2.49 I've spent in a long while :)

Just added a bunch of you guys. My Steam id is the same as my GAF. Add away folks...

Now to get Shattered Union up and running. It's a shame that Vista/Win7 folks with more than 2GB of RAM have to go through this to utilize a 50 cent purchase...

KOTOR for $2.50? what a great deal for an amazing game... i wonder if i would find time to play it?

hrmmmm

You'll find time. I once thought the same thing when I picked it up for $2.50 a while back and beat the game in three days while having no life outside of it for the amount of time I was playing.

I want to go back and play it again but I'm afraid of a repeat gaming binge.

I bought Killing Floor this morning, but I haven't been given my TF2 items yet.

Do I need to have played it once to get it? Or does it just take awhile to register? The Twisted Christmas update page says it lasts until January 4th... so why didn't I get the items?

Does it matter? You'll play the game for 5 minutes before deleting it off your drive. As for the TF2 items, you'll eventually get them. I just don't know how soon, though.

What?! No, Killing Floor is awesome. Some of us (not me) have played into the hundreds of hours. I'm only at ~40hrs. But no, just wrong sir.

I don't even pay attention to it because in my head it's a crappy L4D clone. Am I wrong?

Agreed. Great fun game!

It is NOTHING like L4D. The concept is very similar but the feel and gameplay is different.

Grmbl, silly steam I CURSE AT THEE! Why couldn't I resist buying NWN2 platinum... Already got it all on disc... :lol

I broke down and got the Serious Sam pack. The old versions arn't working with my 360 controller and if the same goes for the HD version, I'll have lost 4 bucks.

360 does work fine with the new versions. The old version pre-date the 360 pad so you would *obviously* have to go use one of the programs that lets you emulate the MKB with a pad.

Quite wrong.

L4D is about surviving from moving to Point A to Point B.
Killing Floor is about surviving various waves of constantly spawning (and increasing) enemies, with breaks between each wave to purchase ammo, armor, and weapons at a shop.
Killing Floor also has the "Perk" system, which are basically classes you level up that effect how proficient you are with various weapons, items, and skills.

Yes. Outside of the vague theme of "fighting against hordes of enemies" they play very differently.

Huh, well, thanks for the info, guys. Don't think I'll get it simply because it would be so buried in my steam backlog, but at least I'm informed now.

Well, I've learned that the "shame" comes from admitting that I bought that game. Are there any decent Dai Senryaku clones on Steam? I've found Future Wars but it supposedly
...takes strategy gaming away from the micro-management overkill that it has become and using simple, proven rock-paper-scissors principles...
The whole point for me is the "micro-management overkill" so I don't think Future Wars will scratch my itch...

Suggestions, GAF?

It is it's own monster really. It's totally worth giving a shot.

I was slow to check it out, but really liked it once I did.

C'mon steam, where is Oblivion GOTY?? I'm thinking maybe i'll just go ahead and just buy it. I don't think they're going to discount it any more than what they have...but I guess i'll wait until the last day.

Meanwhile thinking of picking up NWN.

LP2... Buy or no buy? I liked the PS3 demo alot and I think my PC will run it. But will there be enough people to play co-op with?

If I get US GAF to gift it to me (with extra discount) it's only 12€... Which is a pretty dandy price right?

What say you?

Edit: Also on the fence for Serious Sam. opinions?

:lol I keep going back and forth about buying Meat Boy, decided to pull the trigger and now it's $7. Not sure why but I thought it was one of today's deals as well.

Edit: Also on the fence for Serious Sam. opinions?

Top tier arcade FPS. Up there with the Doom 1/2, Painkiller and the earlier FPSs.

~90 mins left on one of the better deals I've seen on Steam so far, $10 for NWN2 + 2 expansions is a steal.

Hell, the non-sale price of $20 for just MotB alone is worth it, and you're getting that and 2 other games for just $10!

Wait dude.

I wouldnt be surprised if Oblivion went lower, specially considering the announcement of Skyrim.

Im tempted to get Tomb Raider Anniversary as it is just 5 bucks and heard tons of good things about it..

holding out on some sort of "tomb raider pack" though..

Holy moly! The Witcher is fucking marvelous. 13 hours and im in chapter 2.

Geralt is like, fuck all of you, Im going my way and do it how I want. He speaks with any anger in his words, but you know that if you do something wrong, you are going to get your ass kicked. :lol

And Ive been reding people dont like much the fighting style, well, I really like it.

Is NWN2 any good? I always heard mixed stuff about it, but I think the editor is pretty comprehensive?
Pretrty much all the impressions posted in here were positive and a number of people said that Mask of the Betrayer would be worth the asking price alone.
