Jesus Christ man. I take it you're joking and all but in all seriousness. Aside from probably not getting to play the next Elder Scrolls on your preferred console, this is exciting news.

More pressure for Sony to do better, perhaps Bethesda games will actually ship in an acceptable condition, and most importantly.

This acquisition seems to have kicked off people's passion for the next generation in a whole new way. Doesn't matter if you're team Xbox or PS5. Lots of dumb threads but there's definitely a lot more excitement to go around, in my opinion.

A good final shakeup before the generation kicks off.

That list there is the reason I just don't care about the Bethesda deal. Last few games from their studios just didn't click for me and I have faith. Sony has so many 1st party games to lean on, and that's not counting anything we don't know about or possible returns of franchises like Resistance, Killzone, Socom, etc.

I'm not closing the door on getting a used XBS or a month of GP on my PC to play Elder Scrolls, but the amount of crazy over an announcement is nuts. The timing of this deal was no coincidence, yes the XBX/S were going to preorder sell out due to gamers and scalpers fighting for them, but this made sure of it, even though nothing will be physically or digitally in front of us for years.

Its fine, its also not the first thing MS ever did to land a big punch. When they came out with Gamepass it looked like the value alone would get them millions, except it didn't happen.

Buying zeni was a big deal for a lot of people, not me personally as I only played Doom.

Honestly I could take a pic of my physical library right now and it mostly consists of first party or exclusives. Im pretty selective and, while I didnt plan it, I tend to play PS only games with the exception of COD.

What has been nuts is the hot takes. The hardcore MS fan that is trying to antagonize everyone, and there is a lot of them. The victory laps and whatnot. If MS handed over the checkbook to those people they would spend 200 billion on every studio imaginable.

To me the only thing that has changed is MS bought some new IPs that I didnt even play.

You'd be WAY safer making the assumption the other way. We won't see Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Doom, or Dishonored on a Playstation. GaaS probably, Fallout 76-type games? Yeah absolutely. But PS can say goodbye to all the games that BGS are known for that people care about.
