no they aren't hell even if you think of true exclusives Demon Souls Remake was the only true exclusive launching this gen because Miles Morales was also on ps4

So what you're saying is miles Morales was multiplatform lol.

Taking multi plat to a real far stretch here.

Asobo made plague tale and then created 90 + Metacritic flight simulator.

So why you doubting Machine games?
Not doubting them at all. Just surprised. Wondering if the game will be 3rd person, First-person, or a combination. Maybe even something VR?

dont switch jargon around sir, exclusive means one platform. there is no such thing as an "ecosystem" in gaming. Its either exclusive or it's not. Why is it xbox dudes always try to come up with a new definition of what "exclusive" is.
Forget PC.

Exclusive is simple. Is it only on Xbox? Or is it only on PlayStation?

its either exclusive or its not. Hell Sony even irritates me with this console exclusive BS, if its on another platform its not exclusive.

so horizon is not exclusive
death stranding is not exclusive
project athia not exclusive

also, are remakes of older games exclusives If the previous versions appeared on other platforms?

Obviously, it's a new game, regardless if it has identical source code and no new content, because it says Remastered on it. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Obvious, isn’t it? ;)

thank god for this forum, otherwise I wouldn’t know what is exclusive and what is not /s

Indiana Jones going around to other countries killing people as a white man is racist now so I fully expect him to be black or a woman.

you sexist, Indie will be black transgender without any specific gender identity /s

Horizon WAS exclsive, it is no longer
Death Stranding WAS exclusive, it is no longer
Project Athia if coming to pc as well is not an exclusive.

the above 3 is correct, remakes are different because the game was remade from the ground up using different engine, assets etc. is the remade version on another platform? Or just the ps5?

Lol at “this is how Xbox gets its Uncharted”

100% it’s a multiplatform game.
Why’s that?

Unless it’s caught in previous contractual discussions and Microsoft chose not to buy those rights out (which would be odd) there’s no reason for it not to be exclusive.

What exactly do people think MS dropped billions on? A couple of timed exclusives?

This is what they paid money for. AAA games that, in terms of consoles, are Xbox only.

Microsoft paid $7.5 Billion dollars for Bethesda in order to give away arguably one of the biggest IP rights in the movie franchise world.

Sure.

I’m sure business is difficult to understand but MS still doesn’t yet own Bethesda and this will be a Disney/Bethesda contract which they will have to fulfill, otherwise they lose the license.

What you thought MS had bought Indiana Jones or something?

Oh so now MS is not only in the process of acquiring Bethesda but they are also in the process of acquiring Indians Jones... because Disney will just sell Indiana Jones to MS?

What?

There’s a reason Phil Spencer said they will fulfill existing contracts...

Not if it was factored into the contractual discussions.

That’s why it cost so much.

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Nice, big get for MS if it’s half as good as most of there other games.

They aren’t buying contracts, they are buying a company.

You are just speculating that Disney already has a new contract with MS for an exclusive Indiana Jones, and that doesn’t make any sense.

But hey will see, and once again it will be just as predicted.

The contracts he said they would honour are the ones involving Sony. So Deathloop. I imagine MS may well have offered to buy that too, but development was likely too far down the road.

All a company is *is* it’s contracts and IP.

Where exactly is Sony offered an obligation under the contract between Disney and Bethesda to develop an Indiana Jones game?

He didn’t specify, “existing contracts”.

And now you’re just into “Disney will sell exclusive rights to Ms because MS has a lot of money” and that’s just gibberish.

Yes.

But the term ‘exclusive’, as we righteous nerds use it, only really applies to Xbox and PlayStation. No one calls World of Warcraft an ‘exclusive’. It’s just a PC game.
than thats the problem with your jargon, exclusive means one and exclusive game means one platform.

Disney already sold the rights to Bethesda. This has nothing to do with Disney anymore.

What exactly do you think MS spent all that money on?

just a reminder, the Bethesda deal is not yet finalised, until it is, ms and Bethesda are completely separate companies

We don't know anything about the Disney Bethesda deal - it may have specified platforms for one game, or not. It may have been more like Disney subcontracting the development of the game to a third party, with specific terms in the contract.

Nobody knows.

Loving the idea of action-adventure Indiana game. If it's Bethesda that means the game will be Xbox exclusive, I wonder if it's part of the larger deal for the IP.
machinegames is a microsoft first party studio ..Bethesda is owned by ms (officially in less than 30 days). what deal? it will be xbox/pc exclusive 100%

if u implying this game will be in other console platform outside xbox ..there's nothing to hope about and is starting to get tiring and seem like trolling at this point .

“Sold the rights”, more like it’s a contract with Bethesda for them to develop and produce alongside Lucas, with the contract stipulating everything from development goals to target platforms.

MS can buy Bethesda out of the contract, but they can’t change the contract just because they bought Bethesda. How come you don’t understand this? This is basic.

My first thought on the Bethesda sale was that everything would be exclusive going forward, but the actual answer to your question is apparently not "Xbox exclusivity", it seems to be instead "GamePass market expansion" and "profit."

I'm too old-school to hold much hope that Elder Scrolls and Starfield and Indiana Jones will ever show up for my PlayStation with MS acquiring the company, but it's a strange new gaming market we live in now, and the major players aren't using all the old rules anymore

The game isn't ready to be shown, so it's nowhere near to get released (another year or two).
... by the time the game gets released, Microsoft will likely own Bethesda.

Maybe Sony will just say "fuck it" and let there be a gamepass app on PS5 , assuming MS wants that too. Strange times indeed
