Yeah - like I say on paper it was a strong and well organised release schedule, and I know many people had a great year. If they have a similar year this year in terms of numbers and spacing I'll be happy. I just hope I actually like the games, lol.

With Link's Awakening I'm normally not a framerate uber alles guy at all - I usually don't even notice drops - but I found the performance in that game unacceptably distracting again and again. So un-Nintendo-like to ship the game in that state, especially when it's a simple isometric view game. Add in the fact that I simply didn't like the toy-like artstyle or the blur shaders and that they charged $60 for a tile-for-tile remake of a game I'd bought twice and beaten 6 times... PLUS the fact that Dampe's dungeon maker was clearly just uninspired padding to justify the price and I found nothing there to like at all. A shame, because I liked Grezzo's N64 remakes a lot. I'm still looking forward to what they do next.
I do wish the dungeon maker had been expanded on more, lots of potential there. The good news is that it looks like Grezzo has moved onto Unity for their next game so hopefully that removes any framerate issues for their next title.

What sort of games would you like to see Nintnedo do this year?

My favourite Nintendo games tend to be the more mechanically complex ones.

So I'd love to see new entries in any of these series this year:

Zelda 3d (I think BotW 2 is coming, thankfully)
Metroid 2d or 3d (We've got a good chance at a Mercurysteam Metroid)
Mario 3d (Probably not coming after 3d World and All-Stars recently released)
Donkey Kong 2d (Highly unlikely)
Splatoon (Possible but not likely)
Xenoblade or other Monolithsoft game (Who knows)
Mario Golf (Good chance here)
F-Zero, Wave Race or ANY racing game (Survey says NO)
Advance Wars or ANY strategy game (Survey also says NO)
Star Fox (Most star fox games are mediocre BUT they have so much potential, doesn't matter as we're not getting one)

I have little to no interest in:
Wii U ports (played them all on Wii U); Warioware; Mario Tennis; Mario Party; Mario Olympics; Paper Mario; Kirby games; Yoshi games; and I've fallen out of love with both Pokemon and Fire Emblem - though I'd be down for another old-school Fire Emblem remake. I'm also not interested in Smash Bros DLC as I'm that rare guy who prefers a small character roster, so... uh... yeah. Smash doesn't work for me anymore, though Ultimate was a great game in many ways.

If we saw proper reveals of any THREE of the series in my top list tomorrow I'd be so damn happy. I'd even accept two. My bets would be BotW2 properly revealed; Metroid 2d and Mario Golf tomorrow. Probably Zelda HD ports from Wii U to round it out, and a LOT of Japanese 3rd party games.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I would love if Monolith stepped back from Xenoblade and went back to Mugen No Frontier, even if it's for a low budget project. Man I do miss that combat system and the cool spritework.

Bolded the ones I think we'll see tomorrow and put in italics the ones I think will come out before the end of March 2022.

I think you're gunna be happy.

I hope we’ll see...

Some more of that Capcom love with a Resident Evil game announcement - hoping it’s either RE4 remake or a new title.

Metroid Prime Trilogy announced and release date given, along with a trailer for MP4.

Eternal Darkness remake would be nice and I wouldn’t say no to Konami splashing some of their Switch cash on a MGS: The Twin Snakes remake.

New BOTW2 trailer and Zelda Anniversary games revealed.

F**ck all that we have enough RE!!! Capcom needs to give some love to Ace Attorney series and if I don't get official announcement for Great Ace Attorney western release then they better suit up....

I'm gonna sue their ass!

Let me tell you about the last Nintendo Direct….10,000 years ago.

I’m gonna guess a 2d Metroid, Zelda remakes, a Splatoon spinoff, Mario golf and another tease of BOTW 2 with a release date of late 2021.

oh and some animal crossing stuff.

I would love some Mario news, I don't think the core team was too occupied with the mario 3d world port (+ bowser's fury). But its probably too early.

I would also love some Zelda collection with a little bit more effort than the Mario Collection, but knowing Nintendo, it will be a collection of Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker and Twilight princess (all without any big improvements) and Skyward Sword as a 60$ port.

Anyway, I will be entertaining even if I am not interested in most of the games.

Their recent track record with their Directs has been somewhat disappointing, however this one going for 50mins gives me hope.

I'm sure we will see more Monster Hunter Rise and Stories 2, and of course whatever they'll drop regarding Smash, but theres just so much time left and for games releasing in the 1st half 2021!?

Which recent track record? There have been no real Nintendo direct since 2019. You cannot compare the mini directs or particular game directs to this one.

One of two Vanillaware games I have yet to play. Grimgrimoire is the other one.
The only issue is Vanillaware hasn’t made games for Nintendo since original Muramasa on Wii. Even we do see remake/remaster of the game, it’s probably going to PlayStation system.

YES! Finally we get an hour long playthrough of Metroid Prime 4 on 8k Switch 2 VR with haptic feedback!

For a slightly realistic prediction, an announcement that Fortnite's Jonesy will be coming to Smash, while Samus Aran will be released as a skin on Fortnite to represent Nintendo amidst the Kratos and Master Chief releases earlier this year.

(Although, even as a Fortnite fan...I don't really want Jonesy in Smash)
