I’ll get around to playing this for sure…. Looking forward to it.

But Elden ring, gt7, horizon will keep me busy for awhile I would suspect. Maybe after that in the slow summer months

You had a PS5 for this game and then you sold it because you couldn't play this game? Congratulations.
giphy.gif

HDR is still broken, looks washed out on xsx.
It’s not broken so much as you need to tweak the settings to look good on your TV. It’s not ideal but its fine when you get it working.

I nvr played much of the game prior. Maybe just 3 hours before the patch.

Jumped in today post patch. Def not 60fps. Feel like 50 or something. Its improved for sure but choppy not smooth.

Driving feels worse than i remember. I dont recall having such an issue with braking prior to the patch. Reverse enables way too quick. Instead of braking im just immediately going backwards sometimes. Driving wasn't great pre-patch and i dont like it post patch either. First person camera driving is better. not so low.

I still can't walk around naked. And now when u look down in the shower u dont see anything.

game still feels clunky and heavy. Its also still buggy. Near my apartment there was a gated off hall and NPCs were just phasing through it as if there was nothing there. NPCs just pop-in out of nowhere near my apartment. If u back up a foot they disappear. Step forward they reappear and will sometimes be different skins.
and i was getting clipping. My penis was clipping through my shirt. And some NPC had his tattoo over his shirt. Like part of his shirt clipped behind the tat on his chest

HDR is the same. Still dark and washed out. Audio mix is still bad. City sounds quiet. In-car is dead quiet. U still got to fiddle around with settings to make it sound like a normal videogame.

world is still just kinda dead and flat and no interactivity. But u can change ur hairstyle in a clunky menu in ur apartment now. So great i guess

Played the first 3 hours on Series X, game was amazing , great story and one of the best visuals I have seen.
The first act is legit awesome.
Been playing a couple hundred hours on PC but I’m downloading the XSX version right now, going by the stream it’s a nice version, I want to see it on the big telly. Could see myself double dip if it’s good enough, 50% off right now.

Everything looks better to me now, just it messed up my HDR settings at first so I had to turn that on and adjust the 3 settings again.

I don’t know what you’ve been drinking man 🤭. Got the game on ps5 and hdr is awesome, not washed out at all and the audio is fantastic. Maybe you should be looking in investing in some nice audio/video equipment. 👍. Also, on game mode on myLG CX it feels really like 60fps, only thing I noticed is with turn acceleration, it feels like after rotating a little bit you suddenly get a huge acceleration boost that feels a bit unnatural

I've had to uninstall. When you play other games, then come back to this after so long, its horrible. It looks good, but i had enemies floating past me, fighting through me, and passing through walls. Waste of 6 minutes downloading it again. 😄 uninstalled forever.
The amount of these off putting bugs it’s my problem with it. I constantly see characters trespassing walls and furniture.

I like the game and I think it looks great on PS5 but it’s so rough. Total bugfest still. I also saw these giant textures on a bridge glitching while I was driving. You want to be in that world and there are so many things to like but the bugs take you out. It’s a very subpar technical experience coming from other games.

I’ll finish it this time though. Halfway there with my 35 hour save from PS4.

This is a very, very underwhelming update for the PS5 in my opinion. Sure, the file size is almost halved, which is great, and loading times are improved but, although I only tested it for 10 minutes last night, I came across two bugs. One with NPCs walking into each other and trying to walk through one another, a result of the poor pathfinding/A.I. and increased crowd density (which isn't a good look!), and several NPCs floating about the ground. Also, the HDR mode still looks broken to me. Enabling it causes the menus to suddenly appear really washed out but in-game it seems to look okay but because the menu colours look wrong then it is hard to know if the HDR is actually as intended.

Sorry but I'm not impressed by the PS5 update. The RT mode is just a complete waste of resources as it barely looks any different from the Performance mode but runs at a sluggish 30 fps. There's no RT reflections or global illumination; it's just RT shadows which look almost identical to normal shadows and, believe you me, I watched and paused comparison shots in YouTube videos to see if I could see where the differences actually were!!!

So mediocre game is still... well... mediocre. Cyberpunk 2077 remains CD Projekt RED's most disappointing game to date.

I noticed that on PC too. Was it like that before the patch too? Never played this with a controller before.

i by no means have a good setup. And hey im sure u do. But what im also sure of, is ur just getting a placebo effect. Because when everyone is yelling from the rooftops that HDR is broken on a game, there is always that one dude that says it looks fine. Without fail u always see it. Check RDR 2 reddits...or AC valhalla or any other game with notoriously broken, bad or fake HDR. It will be 100 ppl saying it looks bad and that one guy saying everyones crazy lol

it looks exactly the same post patch as it did pre-patch.

I never played it pre patch so I can not say how it looked before and if it’s the same, just saying it looks great on my setup. There are some hdr slider settings so maybe try to fiddle around with that a bit 🙂

if u like it or if its miraculously working and looking fine for u. Im happy for ya. But. What i would say is. If u keep seeing more ppl like me. Saying that its still broken. Which if u check around the reddit. U will. Just please consider that maybe. Just maybe. Ppl are saying the same thing, because there is some truth to it.

When i got Red Dead Redemption 2. I thought the game looked beautiful. Best looking game i had seen up until that point. I saw the murmurs of fake HDR. Broken HDR etc. I played the game not being able to see a GD thing at nightime in-game. For months. For months i played with the default settings. Until i eventually got sick of how muddy and dark things would look at nite when i was trying to rob stuff. So i finally turned HDR off.

and it opened my eyes. I was wrong. They were right. My game looked terrible and i had no clue. It was a worlds difference when i removed the HDR

I don’t know, looks great here. I did notice RE2 hdr was horrible though, very washed out and black hallways were looking grey instead

Yeah, I can probably see the graphics being improved, cars handle like ass now (tried the Nomad path, the car at the very beginning has a drifting booty AF), plus I guess after playing it for at least 50hrs+ it's just....not very compelling to go forward. The gameplay loop is not there for me to put 200hrs+ like I did with the Witcher.

Horrible timing for this with so many amazing games coming soon...but hopefully they'll spend more time improving it. I'll play it after Elden Ring, horizon, witch queen , and a couple more.

Looks a lot cleaner for sure. The issue is still this absolutely incredible world which is all just for visuals. Playing Dying Light 2 where exploration is actually worthwhile and a decent chunk of buildings let you go inside, shows this game up ridiculously. They should have kept this cooking for another 2 years imo

Very satisfied. Won't bring back the haters I guess but tbh nothing will at this point. For fans though this is a really really good update.
Define haters. I've finished the game in release state because I've been a fan of CDPR and hyped for the game.

The Game is mostly garbage though. Its an overhyped, buggy and comparatively bad (featurewise) open world game.

For now, I am, so I voted the "first step" option. The game finally looks closer in terms of lights and shadows to how it was on PC, the AI and such seem better, and a lot of QoL updates have hit consoles like the faster UI, finally customizeable look well into the game, etc.. 14 months later, the game is a lot closer to how it should have been, and that game was already my 3rd favourite game of 2020. I'm happy they took the No Man's Sky "shut up and work" approach - no absurd promises, no unrealistic expectations - just come out with the good changes when they're ready. That game managed to surpass what the game's original vision was, even. Let's see if Cyberpunk manages to do the same. But this patch gives me hope.

Definitely a step in the right direction. Cyberpunk has been my favorite game of the last 5 years easily. The apartments are pretty cool and the UI is much improved, especially the map. One of the biggest gripes I had with the game was the end of the romance saga just stops and you can’t do anything with them. I remember GTA IV you could go on dates and do all these cool things, was hoping CP would do the same. Good to see they at least thought of that and are adding some content in regards to that

After playing it on base PS4 it now looks on my PS5 like a different game. The visual fidelity is incredible and finally, there are people and traffic on the streets.

I will finish Dying Light 2, then I will start Horizon and if I have some time left between finishing horizon and starting Gran Turismo I will try to squeeze in the third playthrough of Cyberpunk. The timing for this really sucks...

Fuck no, I'm not satisfied. I turned on the game, downloaded the update on my XSX, started the game and low and behold it STILL had the annoying ass NPC's pop-in right in front of your face issue. I have the game saved on a set of steps. I walk up the steps into a porch area. At first you don't see any NPCs, but if I walk right up close they appear. Until that gets fixed, I will consider the game broken.

Fuck you CDPR for getting my hopes up.
The cops also spawn right behind you. Rubbish game

After reading the list of the changes I think this is rather good.

The most serious issues are baked in the game so they will not change (like the false choices the game is presenting you all the time and lack of branching of the sidequests into the main story like in the witcher), but even if the game could have been (and should have been) so much better, I loved it. So I'll be replaying this some time soon.

As unfair as it sounds, this was essentially what players where expecting to get with the 1.2 or 1.3 patch... its taken a hell of alot longer to get here. Honestly I put it down as a good first step, its like it's at the point where no Man's Sky was where its the first big solid patch outside of bug fixes with some new content that helps push it towards what was promised, but its not quite there yet.

With my PC I hadn't had much issues to begin with, these are more QOF improvements and some additional content for me. Good first step towards the future!

I saw a woman peeing standing up ,ruined the experience for me😅, overall it's a nice update considering the unplayable PS4 version

The only 2 games with shitty HDR i experienced so far are RDR2 and MHW, is it as bad?
No, it looks great on my setup. I can imagine if you have a hdr ready tv it might not look good, but with proper tv it’s amazingly nice. Don’t forget to choose hgig as hdr setting on the tv though.

Just fired up, started a new game as a nomad. Looks great on series x at 60fps. Will give it a good go.

on an LG CX what should my HDR settings be?

Played the trial a bit and it was ok. Not gonna buy it right now since elden ring is just around the corner, but i'll get it used once i have more time on my hands. Gunplay felt nice on the dualsense and the framerate is stable.

Town seems empty as fuck though. Whats going on there??

The Witcher 3 is messing with my head. I played 50+ hours, mostly loved it, best side quest design in the genre. But then I started thinking there was too much grinding to reach rec levels for new areas, I was always below where I needed to be, in short it became a chore, and with no character creation a replay with different playstyle never interested me. And the combat never stopped being clunky. People are loving it and I did too for awhile but I never actually finished it.

Cyberpunk is an odd one too. I usually dislike first person shooters, can barely play them at all because they make me motion sick. Then comes this game and completely blows me away. Zero motion sickness. And the FPS action is actually fun. I’ve played 200+ hours, multiple characters, I loved my first playthrough, was even my GOTY. For me it has the best combat, traversal, immersion and story telling in the genre. And I still find it interesting to start over again. There is just something that keeps pulling me in. Started a nomad character last night, stealth build, netrunner, ninjutsu, I think it’ll be fun. Considered going with a female V to get some cuddling time with Judy but eventually went with male V again.

Regarding the driving, I tried to use an old 360 pad for once, sensitive steering for sure but I thought the driving were fun, surprisingly so, lots of sliding but fun. For a RPG it’s amazing how much care they’ve put into the cars with the suspension and tire tracks etc.
Unfortunately the shooting sucks with a controller imo.

There are still NPC spawning issues from time to time which is annoying. Other than that though, it's great.

I don't give a fuck about police because this is not GTA and making mayhem on streets is not something I do.
Yep totally. In the normal flow of the game you never ever open fire on the street towards civilians

Not true. I spent 10 hours with Judy after her main story quest ended. Lots of stuff are optional, you dont even need to pursue Panam and her nomad family beyond what Rogue ask you to do.

Any list of the "secret stuff" they've supposedly added? I checked and the railroad system is still not activated, so nothing there. I now the game has a metric ton of hidden stuff and I've found a lot in my 5 play throughs, but there's more now supposedly.

Anyways I have the PS4 disc sitting waiting to pop in but I may hold off and let them patch this patch, I'm halfway through another UC4 playthrough and I've got the PS5 version of Death Stranding im trying to get into, sounds like this game can do with another month or two worth of patches

Keep us updated on Performance Mode vs RT30fps mode.
Performance mode is good so far, seems stable. RT mode is unplayable imo, it feels very unresponsive and feels like you are moving through Vaseline, with little noticeable gain in visual quality.

Also noticed a bug where switching between performance and quality causes the graphics settings such as film grain and motion blur to turn on even if they are toggled off in the settings. The fix is to toggle them on and back off.

I highly recommend turning off motion blur, film grain and lens flare immediately.

NOT satisfied

Keep my copy sealed and will spend my time with a game which deserves it.

Hopefully HFW or The Elden Ring

Game is one of the best in the cyberpunk genre I love it but I had to put it on hold until now. Let's see if it's any better on PC. As much as I love the game, they fucked up so bad.
