No, the short one with the eels or whatever chasing you.

Ummm...slight stutters every 2-3 seconds. Drops to 57 fps momentarily. If I can't fix this...yeah, not going with the PC version.

disc-based PC game = book chiseled onto stone tabletsIt says in the thread title the retail version is DRM free...
For some reason the PC demo is on my Steam list, even though I never installed it. Can't seem to uninstall it either.
Strange, I had no such problems.Ummm...slight stutters every 2-3 seconds. Drops to 57 fps momentarily. If I can't fix this...yeah, not going with the PC version.

That's weird, after trying without success to download the demo for a hour, I read Steam forum and I noticed the demo was already in my library (and I never installed it)...
Except it wasn't, as when I tried to run it, it started the actual download...

Demo runs well for me, but it reminded me of how much I hate the swimming controls.
I didn't like them until I realized you can just hold dash to swim fast
I just spent a few minutes running back and forth and I can't reproduce this at all, even after alt-tabbing away. Which isn't to say that I don't believe you! I just want to clarify that the game at least has the potential to work properly. ie. it's not fundamentally brokenUmmm...slight stutters every 2-3 seconds. Drops to 57 fps momentarily. Now I have the tough decision between a higher resolution/bigger screen/DRM riddled/cheaper PC version or the OLED/portable/more expensive Vita port.
Decisions...
Get the Vita version, also get on Steam you moot.
Game looks beautiful.
Don't know if I should get this on PC or vita
Ubi said as much a few weeks ago but the Steam profile still doesn't list any DRM. No official word on that.So... is the DRM 100% confirmed?
The same thing happened to me. The demo was just on the "common" subfolder and it worked just fine, by the way.I'm trying to get the demo too, it appeared in my library but when I tried to install it I was given that file conversion dialogue. I restarted steam, and now it's gone entirely and the links don't work. Anyone able to help?
I actually think it works best on the Vita due to the ability to pick up and play at will. It's a great game for both short and lengthy sessions. Plus, it looks absolutely stunning on the OLED screen which delivers faster response and deeper blacks than any PC LCD you might be using.Game looks beautiful.

There's actually a lot of great tunes in the game, but yeah, I've never been too fond of the high pitched singing either. The soundtrack though... ear rape. It sounds like the chipmunks singing 50's commercial jingles. So. Bad.
good god what a mess
I think it's a new ubisoft marketing stunt; pretend to add drm, then list no drm, then add drm when sales are low.
Didn't know about this, but seems Ancel wanted to deliver the UbiART framework as open source. And it says this on the Steam page:
A Handful of Highly Talented Artists and Engineers: Rayman Origins was developed by the UBIart team in Montpellier and is built on an open-source game engine - the UBIart Framework - designed by Michel Ancel to allow much smaller teams of artists and developers to produce incredibly high-quality graphics and gameplay quickly and efficiently. This garage-game approach has led to great strides in creativity and innovation.
Maybe they are still planning it? Probably just a mistake, but there is a small possibility.
