Halo |OT9| One Final Effort Is All That Remains

I kill them on New Alexandria. Can you do so on other missions as infantry? I have never seen it pulled off, and never did myself.

Using the wraith is the only way I've tried really. That was on ONI. I assume if enough damage is dealt, they will still die from enough infantry explosives as well.

Of course, people should go into a thread which post major plot lines of Halo 4 in his OP? I am sorry but please, that's not the spoiler thread people are looking for.

Well we just had a fourth of a page filled with black bars/spoilers, where else do they go but the Halo 4 spoiler thread?

No offense to you, it is correct to link to the spoiler thread but if a person just want to post their assumption, he has from the books, the terminals and the official released material, the spoiler thread is the definitely the wrong one. It has some big spoilers of Halo 4 which definitely weren't planned to be in the public yet.

Seeing we're on a nostalgia trip on Halo 3, I thought I'd post this part from the end of The Ark. (I posted this before over on HBO back in 2010).

So at the end of The Ark, there's a ring with a bunch of jetpack brutes and a Brute Chieftain in the middle. I'd always just opened up on them right away, anxious to end the level. Well, as it turns out, the Chieftain is actually shouting at you, challenging you to a duel. He yells, "“For the Prophets! Fight me! I’m right here!”

So if you accept his duel, you and him will fight to the death with the other brutes jeering you.

It's a pretty cool scene, and one that's easy to miss. The wail of the jetpack Brutes when I slew their Chieftain in solo combat was glorious. If you're replaying, I highly encourage you to accept his challenge.

I always kill that weakling before he runs away to that circle and his gang.

But the 1st time I saw that "challenge" was amazing.

I see your point, my issue is not being able to judge the magnitude of what is behind the black bars. Last page one person said "from the link Elzar posted:......" and it was said that the link Elzar posted contained huge spoilers, so I wasn't sure if his spoiler was huge as well.

Maybe if some context to the spoiler is posted before the black bars as was suggested earlier. That way I don't accidentally click on a game-ending spoiler somehow. :p

EDIT: Letters & Doziz Voting for Blops 2? :p

My problem with the spoiler thread is that I don't really want to discuss spoilers for the game, but also don't want to spoil certain things from the recent books either for people on this thread...

You can always create a thread for the Thursday War in the OT section: the Forerunner saga has one, iirc.

Does 4's theater have automatic DOF?

Watching that Abandoned walkthrough, I think it does.

Nice. Top 'o the page.

I had a similar idea. 343 really seems to like that function as they use it A LOT in their promo material (even for the Defiant map pack back in the day). I hope it's something we can toggle on/off or even control to some degree as if it were an actual camera. That would be awesome!

Sorry didn't mean to start anything, this wasn't a huge spoiler just a one sentence description of the antagonist of Halo 4, could be its not the Didact we will be fighting...?????

I can't believe I'm going to put the damn debate on tonight just to get gold spartan avatar armor. What have I become?

OT I know, but if you fine folks could take the time to wish Scorcho well, that'd be wondrous.

Thanks all.
Thanks for drawing this to my attention. Scorcho is awesome, very sad to hear about his situation. :(

Learn something new every day. The damage required has been jacked up - I've emptied multiple rocket launchers into them without success. In Halo 3 the intake fans were their weakpoint but that does not seem to be the case with Reach. I'll do some experimentation to see what happens, sometime. Thanks.

Ha, somehow I always knew this since probably the second time I played the level. I have no idea how I figured it out or noticed in the first place, either. It really is a great end to that level. Now I really can't wait to replay Halo 3. :D

I believe you need to watch for half an hour. I was originally planning on just turning it on on the Xbox and ignoring it, but it looks like there's some live interactive element, so I might actually check it out to see how that works.

No. The whole trilogy was about the war against the Covenant which ended. But if you think you won't fight the Flood anymore, you were ignorant for the past two years. Every piece of fiction which had been released, except for the Kilo-Five Trilogy, deals with the Flood: The Forerunner Trilogy, the Anniversary terminals and even the fiction behind the Prometheans.

Has it?... :/

I can't believe I'm going to leave my Xbox on in the background while I do something else.

Still probably going to watch it.

They're not as satisfying to destroy in Reach. They don't show visible damage like they do in Halo 3.

I just realized Halo now has a bunch of named trilogies. Forerunner Trilogy, Kilo-Five Trilogy, Reclaimer Trilogy (or saga, but it's three games, so whatever). Do Halo 1-3 get a fancy trilogy name now?

My xbox live subscription ran out in Jan. and I haven't had internet in the house for a year and a half now... my avatar doesn't need a gimmick just so I watch the debate.

*The previous text here had been stolen by the Didact, Have a nice day!*

I'm at work, so youtube isn't even worth trying to load, but this should be a video of what I was talking about.

I've actually wanted this for some time now. I'd probably call it The Covenant Trilogy or something similar.
