BOOM, Watch Dogs now listed for Wii U at GameStop's website, I say it's a done deal

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
Wonder if this is getting officially announced Wednesday for PS4, which would make a simultaneous Wii U confirmation make some sense.

I'm not trying to pick on you Baconsammy but it boggles my mind people distracted by tearing and framerate drops continue to buy games available for PCs on console. You already have a Mac so most likely all you need is a copy of Windows and a $250 graphics card and you have exactly what you want from next gen already.

Even if a new console remedies the problem for a couple of years. You don't think you will be in a similar situation shaking your head at these problems in the later half of the generation? Isn't it worth not experiencing tearing to drop $250 now and $250 3 years from now?

The difference between the version for PS3/360/Wii U and the version for Orbis/Durango will most likely be as dramatic if not more so. And don't expect it to look even close to what the E3 demo looked like on the former 3 platforms.

Wait, which one is the lead one?

according to Ideaman, the are 2 versions a next gen version and current gen, with WiiU landing somewhere in the middle, closer to current gen build. So maybe that makes it 3 versions?

Anyways, I would assume that the PC versions the lead. But it with games like this, maybe such a distinction doesn't really make sense anymore. With engines designed to scale all over the place.

Are they porting the 360/PS3 version to the Wii U or will it be a ps4/durango port?

We still don't know
Idea Man said the Wii U version is somehow.. caught in the middle
for all we know, it could share stuff from both generations.

I'll use this example again and say it'll be closer to Durango/Orbis/PC basing my comment on Criterion's statement about NFS: MWU
but I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't end up being the case... at this point, a Wii U version is already an achievement

The difference between Watch_Dogs for Wii U/PS3/360 and for Durango/Orbis won't be that big, I can guarantee you that.

I'm looking for the slot in this new Macbook Air to cram the 250 dollar graphics card into. =)

I'm lucky to have enough room on these small drives to load WoW, the OS, Office, and all the stuff I need for work. Adding Windows and games on top of that on a system that couldnt handle them to begin with isn't all that high on my list. I'm happily a console gamer. Even we get sick of the current consoles and look forward to the next ones. I don't think I'm alone.

I'm half convinced you're a joke poster due to the only posts you apparently make being negative ones in WiiU threads.

May I suggest reading the sticky? Attack the message, not the messenger. If you ever have a problem with my opinion, go for it. I have no problem with that. But claiming I'm out to get Nintendo is just infantile and does nothing but shit up threads. As you're doing here. Take it PMs if you'd like to attack me further.

How do you figure?

Seeing as this is the same publisher releasing a game on multiple platforms during a new generation's launch window I'd call it relevant.

Watch Dogs Wii U is actually a completely unrelated game where you play as a pomeranian who trolls the streets of 1970s Chicago and sniffs out petty crime.

Touch screen and gyroscopic minigames abound!

This made me spit out my drink.

Good news for the faithful if this listing is true.

Someone's gonna be very disappointed with Orbango's first gen titles.

And you don't think the Orbis/Durango version will have superior textures with all that extra RAM?

I'm sure they will, but you're trying to draw a linear comparison between how GRAW turned out on two different generations of consoles, and I seriously doubt that we're going to see such a massive difference like what you're suggesting.

If Nintendo really wanted to try and siphon off some heat from Durango and Orbis, they'd pack this game in with a Wii U premium along with 3D Mario and sell it for $20 less than whatever Orbis and Durango end up selling for.

0_0 so 3D Mario + Watch_Dogs + Premium Console less than 1.5 years into the WiiU's life....

I would hate to see the situation and desperation that would push them to even consider this.

The E3 demo looked amazing, beyond anything we've seen multiplatform current gen games pull off and IIRC it ran on a PC. I'll bet my account that the PSWiiU60 version doesn't look anywhere near as good as that demo, and the Orbango version looks damn close if not just like the E3 demo.

Of course those won't look anywhere nearly as good, but you're crazy if you think they're going to look like GRAW PS2 in comparison.

Unless the Pad implementation is amazingly crap somehow, will buy the Wii U version if true. Either that or PC.

yes we are

Nope, sorry. I play current PC games maxed out where the jump is as dramatic as that jump with current gen titles.

In Watch Dogs alone, there are tons of effects going on that have not been in any current gen games - and that's a first gen next-gen title.

You went to the future and saw how it looks?
No, but owning a computer capable of playing PC games at high end settings gives me a general idea of what can be done with textures when you have more memory to work with, and this is even when dealing with the Windows overhead along with having a very expensive API in your way.

On that point, regardless of how these next-gen titles turn out visually, opinions will be split depending on what you were exposed to last gen.

For fucks sake this looks like a poor Dreamcast game

Besides hoping to widen the gap between systems as much as possible with these shoddy comparisons, you're doing the PS2 a disservice.

But I thought NSMBU and Zombi U were first gen next-gen titles

Yeah because it's a game designed for a more powerful platform scaled down so it can work on a less powerful one rather than something built from the ground up for said less powerful console.

I expect the PS3/360/Wii U versions to look no better than GTA V, or about the same, and the PS4/720 versions to look close to if not the same as the E3 demo.

In that regard, that's a significantly large difference between the 2 versions.

Wow i was impressed from the wii-> wiiu graphics transition. Are you saying that the 360/ps3-> Durango/orbis will be even more prevalent? I didn't think the specs were THAT good.

Heh. Obviously those are 'next-gen titles', but I was talking about purely in terms of the leap in hardware power here, since we're discussing visuals and whatnot. I know you're joking but I think I should clarify for anyone else ;)
