Photos? I somehow find it unlikely that we wouldn't have heard of this until now if it was "very prone" to burn-in.
Any pictures to show?

Can't you just use a video of static snow to remove burn in?
Is it like that? OLED Mura effect.
dat OLED?
Did you look around if there's a way to fix it by yourself?
Not the first time I hear of Vita burn in.
If this is true, lol the 3DS screen is better in my eyes. Serious, I hate being paranoid about stuff like this. "How long should I leave the screen on for?" etc. Just let me play my damn games T_T
Oled burn in is permanent. Apparantly only the top half of my screen ha the burn in.
Burn in is not an issue unless there is a static image on your screen. It's the reason why older screens use screensavers, so that there are no static images on the screen for an extended period of time.
What do you mean it happened just now? Burn in doesn't happen like the flip of a switch.
Great, I'm getting my Vita this week and now I'll be scared to use it...

Usually a few hours, 2 hours minimum.....usuallyWhat do you mean it happened just now? Burn in doesn't happen like the flip of a switch.
Yeash, this is kind of scaring me.

OP... please post pictures.. I really want to see this.
Why would you leave a handheld on standby for long enough to burn-in an image, anyway?
Unless this happens after a really short amount of time, in which case, damn.

I didn't, I leave the screen off in stand by.
As some people have mentionned it, I figure this is the best place to ask: are a few Mura effect splotches normal on a Vita? I've had them since day 1 and only notice them on black loading screens.

That doesn't really look like, nor sound like burn in. Could just be another issue. Anyway, I think a replacement set for you is very likely.
