To note, "360/PS3 release confirmed" on that list means "it's at least coming to those based on job postings", not "it's only coming to those".

Well this dude's Japanese, so he probably doesn't know what steam even is, you can give me a 1 week ban if this game is announced for PC as well, I'm that confident.

I can't imagine Bethesda breaking their PC/PS3/360 tradition with this one, their last HD game that not on PC was Wet(2009).

Way to generalize. And even if he hadn't heard of Steam after being owned by a Western publisher, the publisher/owner gets to decide what that multiplatform game goes on.

Guys

Mikami isn't dumb - I don't think that MP will be mandatory, you don't make MP mandatory if you plan to create the ultimate survival horror game

Why is a mp component attatched to being a shit game nowadays?

If the developer team can find a way to make a solid mp component, with the single player not being affected (like naughty dog and the uncharted team), than I say why not?

1 more feature to potentially get excited for, and stay around after the main campaign is finished.

There isn't a chance that the MP is something akin to Dark Souls? I don't think people would mind mp if its geared like that.
Out of curiosity, how many times has someone said "Maybe the multiplayer is like Dark Souls?" and it actually turns out to be like Dark Souls.

Survival horror and co-op don't have a great history

I think it comes from the fact that we're in an era where a lot of games feel like they have tacked on multiplayer, so any game or studio that traditionally wouldn't have anything multiplayer focused is either seen as "selling out" or "caving in" to the publisher, when in fact people forget multiplayer can be just as creative and unique if done right (i.e. Journey).

Yeah but those games weren't directed by Mikami either

To me Mikami is on the same level as Ken Levine. If Ken decided he wanted to make a mp component for his next game, I would have no qualms because I know he's a talented visionary and game director, and that the single player will still be up to snuff regardless of the mp component.

Exactly, and that's why I think we didn't see MP in Bioshock: Infinite. Whatever they had planned either didn't pan out or just wasn't feasible.

To be fair DS3 (what I've heard of it) seems to have stumbled into a interesting direction. If you can create mistrust between co-op partners by showing each one conflicting information a horror game could work. Turning your co-op partner into a enemy model while you're not looking (while turning friendly fire on) or placing enemies at different spots for each player could be fun.

Probably to many times to count.
Still its shinji mikami, so I'm going to trust he has his reasons on whatever MP he's throwing in. RE1 was originally going to be a MP game so maybe he feels its time to go back to whatever idea he had for that maybe?

I don't know why, but I feel honestly that Zwei can have similar "shocking" impact on this generation that Bioshock 1 had.

Not sure why, but I just get that vibe even not knowing much about it. I guess his previous work just instills that much faith in me.

Caring more about a bethesda fallout than mikami's new game should be a paddlin' offense.

They're two completely different things (at least from hat I can surmise from ZWEI and from what I would assume Fallout 4 would be). Different strokes.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Because everyone was like "lol Vanquish should have been multiplayer so much potential"

Well then save it for a Vanquish sequel but don't put multiplayer in a "survival horror" game.

Still in Mikami i trust.

Vanquish failed because of the setting, everyone knows that.

Vanquish failed because it was a spiritual successor to side scrolling shoot-em-ups that most people decided was a Japanese game trying to be Gears of War without even wasting the time to download the demo.

Is it unfair of me that if it's not fallout I literally do not care a single bit what it is.

I mean, not really, if that's what you like. I think it's ludicrous preferring one of the jankiest, most boring Western series reboots of all time to a new product from one of the greatest Japanese designers of all time, but that's your prerogative.

Why is the thought of multiplayer bugging out some people?

Because most associate MP with action or a Deathmatch type setting.

While not mikami I just want to point out Resident Evil Outbreak was MP and kept its scariness and survival horror in check.

Some of you are just to quick to lose hope. Especially in Mikami.

I hope it's a spiritual successor to RE4. If only to show Capcom how much they fucked up RE5 and 6. To bad that it probably wont do RE numbers though.
