How would people react to another Sony mascot brawler in the future?

Not one similar to PlayStation All-Stars, but more 3D oriented in the battle system, and with more focus on it being a party game rather than just a Playstation character showcase? So, for example, you have characters appearing which are popular but not necessarily Playstation legacy characters.

I always felt PS All-Stars would've made more sense with 3D gameplay. Nintendo characters are mostly from the 2D era, PlayStation characters are all from the 3D era.

you can watch it live at gametrailers.com. i'm sure sony will post some links up on their blog.

Knew it would be streamed multiple places but dang, no televised conference is a little blow. I'm really the only "gaming nerd" out of my friends who will watch it online, but they would have watched it if it was on TV.

Is it because Spike and MS have some agreement? I don't buy that it's because it airs at night.

Now I'm sad.

And why can't G4 run it? I thought the change over to Esquire wasn't happening till mid-summer? My listing still has it as G4 and the programming still looks the same.

Get hype!

Sony will market the shit out of Destiny, in hopes of PS4 being the #1 platform for it, in the same way that Xbox 360 has been the #1 platform for Call of Duty.

I think it'll be the game they open with.

There's zero chance of this happening though. Bungie's audience is on Xbox just like, for example, Kojima's audience is on Playstation. Not mad at Sony for taking a gamble though, especially if the game really was Xbox exclusive.

Hopefully some special treatment for PS4 version ; )

Most likely lead platform. Already exclusive DLC deal. I have high hopes for this. It's a day 1 for me. Halo 3 was my favorite MP game this gen. Can't wait to see what this looks like.

I have no worries that this will look good. It's Bungie. They'll show something solid.

the idea is that they're hoping 360 players are coming over to ps4.

I have zero hype for Destiny, I kinda wish there was another game getting it's slot in the show :/ Maybe the gameplay will turn me around.

Same. I don't get what all the hype is about; it looks bland as hell to me. Everything I've seen of it so far looks derivative, lacks identity and plays it overly safe. Good job there's already well over a dozen next-gen titles I can get psyched for right now.

How so? I have seen a few people on twitter after seeing the commercial on tv during the Western Finals games thinking this WAS a PS4 exclusive.

Of course it's coming out on 360, PS3, Xbone, and PS4, but Sony has the chance to capture this and associate it with the PS platform. Considering it's a new IP and all.

Zero chance in the U.S. but how about worldwide?

It's not surprising if they're pushing for it. Just like COD for MS.

I hate that glowing PS4 text..

I suck at this but I played with it a bit. Wouldn't mind having a glowing blue light going round the console IF it can be switched off.

As the creator of the original mockup...I hated the glowing text as well, the idea was IR sensor to be used in conjunction with Sony's remotes from their other electronics or universal remotes (because no one wants to buy yet another remote).

Then again I've always been against pointless aesthetics on electronics including lights (no offense). There should be a reason and thorough explanation for all parts on an electronic device that goes past "it looks cool".

Personally, I never enjoyed Halo, so I have relatively zero hype for Destiny. But I know a lot of people are religious when it comes to Bungie, so I'm excited for them and happy Sony snagged their E3 allegiance and possible exclusive DLC.

Halo is the best console shooter mechanically, and Borderlands is the best in progression and scope.

Destiny is the love child of those games, with a hella ton budget.

It's going to be astonishing.

Not necessarily, if Sony manages to get through this DRM and used games BS in a good shape, many people I know who are basically 360 players are dumping MS! It just makes sense not to follow MS here and the PS4 is kinda making it easier for people to move to!

The game is on both Xbox platforms. I don't see why they would expect that.

because its a new generation? I'm not saying its going to work, I'm just saying what they're trying to do is attract people transitioning to next gen.

I honestly think Killzone is the best shooter. Borderlands is also great though, and as for Halo I always thought it was just solid. I'm hyped for Destiny though cuz the art excites me.

Are you referring to the wide level, heavy usage of physics sandbox design of Halo?

Christ! I going to have to read up on this. It caught my interest when it was announced, but never followed through on it.

There's a difference between a Halo fan and a Bungie fan. :p

I haven't been much of a Halo fan, but one thing I really respect Bungie for is their online matchmaking and variety game types. No shooter has come close.

I'm going to keep an eye on Destiny, but I'm guessing if I get it, it will be the PC version.

I guess we'll know for sure next week, but yes, that seems like what we have coming. I also like that the hub areas are shown in third person, very wise design decision.

Destiny will sell a lot more on Sony platforms than any Kojima game ever will on an Xbox platform. Millions of us on PS3 have been furiously jealous of Halo on Xbox, and we're all going to jump at Bungie's first offering on Playstation - or at least, I will be.

The "vent" is either a closeup of the headset, or it is eerily similar to the vent seen on the back side of a PC. Mini-box confirmed?

I bought an original XBox for Halo, and it was awesome... all the sequels since have been horrible in comparison. Interested to see what Destiny brings, as it looks unique, and has a magic quality like the original Halo did.

I genuinely don't know how much the average gamer cares about the studio that makes games. Kojima is treated more like a director would be, same for Kaz with GT.

Do consumers care about who publishes or creates films? They do care about directors though.

I understand why they're showing Destiny, but it's still going to be a waste in their conference. The game probably won't even be out until 2015.

nah it'll be a 2014 game I think. At the conference they want to show what launch, and the year ahead looks like. MS will do the same I imagine.

I would agree normally but Bungie was at the forefront of Xbox software development for a solid decade. A lot of people are Xbox fans because of Bungie.
