P4A does take place after the events of P4. Maybe one of his attacks will be to throw cabbage.
Nothing, but some people want news on Persona 5 before hearing anything about another fighting game. Sort of like how people were waiting for Versus, yet all they had was Lightning.
Hopefully we get something soon.
Probably soon now that the Persona concert has passed, that would be logical.

Could have sworn that was cleared up in The Answer.
At the end when they are all deciding what to do with the key he mentions something about going back and saving Chidori. Seemed to imply that she is still dead.
Well they were supposed to be announcing P5 soon so I was taken by surprise that there announcing a sequel to arena now. It's most likely to generate more hype before that P3 movie. I wonder if they decide to push P5 announcement now or the weren't going to announce P5 any time soon anyway.
Yeah, he sucks too but at least we'd get a new design and see how he matured over the last three years. His Arena appearance could even somewhat redeem his character!

Too bad. ASW =/= Atlus. It's that simple. This isn't like Versus and Lightning either. The former spent years in stalled development hell and the latter is a maligned series of games whereas P4A was well liked more often not.

I found her personality incredibly obnoxious and annoying, particularly her constant fighting/insults with Junpei. The "DERP I won't hang out with you because you're not popular enough" crap didn't reflect well on her either.
Regardless while I really don't like her at all I don't have an issue with her being and and fully expected her and Junpei to be added when they announced a sequel to this.
It's more about time of the announcement rather than who is developing it. I just can't see announcing a two different Persona games so close ( supposedly )to each other even if there different genres.

At least with Shinjiro, it makes more sense since
you could only save him in the FeMC story, who technically isn't "canon".

I stopped buying the first second or third iterations of ASW games after the madness that was Guilty Gear. It continued with BlazBlue and it looks to be happening all over again with P4A.

It's been almost 5 years since Persona 4, some people want Persona 5 news before ANOTHER fighting game, why is that Logic hard to understand?
Yeah Arena was liked, (never bought it because of the Europe release BS) but it's still a fighting game, it's no RPG.
I'm not gonna complain any longer, it's not a big deal for me, I'm just explaining why someone would initially be surprised and disappointed.
Also I edited my post about the Persona concert already.

Honestly as much as I like Junpei his growth as a character was largely the result of
Chidori's Death so having her come back to life cheapens that. I peffer her being dead as canon.
Also no idea how someone would think Yukari was the MC's canon girlfriend, seemed to me like Aigis was the character they matched him with. Care to elaborate?
Don't think I haven't forgotten about your region-lock bs, Atlus/ASW. I won't buy this either if isn't dropped, even with P2 characters.

Much like the Persona 4 anime and Persona 4 Arena, I don't think there's a "canon" love interest. Elizabeth, Aigis and Yukari (and maybe Mitsuru) certainly had certain dedication towards him, but there's nothing official.
She's also pretty violent to boys.
His new design resembles one of my favourite characters so I really like him.

It's not surprising that people want Persona 5 news before hearing about another Arena. Simple as that. The logic is sound.

There were hints during P3 that she was the "girlfriend". Like at
Yakushima beach and she's also the default choice for the summer festival and Christmas.
Also her behavior in the Answer really only makes total sense in the context of her being the "canon" girlfriend who was dating Makoto. Or at the very least just very in love with him.
I always go with Yukari, but I know if I picked Mitsuru or Fuuka as the gf, I would have been kinda disappointed by their reaction in the Answer, since they didn't seem as affected as Yuka-tan. Yukari (and Aigis, obviously) just seemed the most close to Makoto.
If it's about that then, it comes down to marketing and release scheduling. What do they want to reveal first? when? What's coming out right now? A lot of factors than just announce Persona 5 first due to what fans want first.
Is there not an anniversary event announced alongside that blog post?

Yeah I understand that. I'm talking more about some fans "first" reaction and the reason behind that initial reaction. I have nothing against them making another Arena.
Persona 5 is going to get announced very soon anyway.

I truly, really hope the P3 mc doesn't show up. Makoto showing up would
cheapen and outright ruin the ending, the message, and the overall point of Persona 3.
I sympathize with his feeling, but it's dumb.

Arena takes place after P3 and P4, why would I spoiler tag that? This is not a big reveal, it's talked about pretty casually in Akihiko, Mitsuru, Aigis and Elizabeth's story routes.
I do think there's a good chance of him showing up this time given some of P4A's cliffhangers, but maybe not as his usual self. For example, (Persona 3 spoiler)
having him be exclusively a "Shadow" character could be an easy way to incorporate him into the narrative without ruining the impact of his death.
With all that's implied and said post-P3 that shouldn't really matter anymore.
That's what will happen probably.
Here's my first feeling of being surprised because this game wasn't even on my radar. Edit: Arena came out just three months ago here.
Here's my second feeling of being interested after coming to my senses.

Him showing up as the good ol' Crawling Chaos' one true vessel would be so amazing. I don't think he should be able to return to normal after you defeat him though. His death is to protect the earth. Who will protect it then? Elizabeth? Shes a Fool now, so maybe, but..come on...

That is such a cop out though. She is also an interesting character brimming with personality.
Such a shame to have such a cool character go away to be able to reborn a blank slate that was not that interesting in the first place.
