There are rotating gold-colored screw blades leading to the brick-built twin propeller engines, which you can view through the window built into the port side of the ship. You can even customise it by adding or removing the containers.

This authentic set includes a display stand and fact plaque with detailed information about the ship and, as a finishing touch, there’s the gold coin that is added under the mast of all Maersk Line ships for good luck on their voyages. This model is perfect for LEGO fans!

Features include rotating gold-coloured propeller blades, brick-built twin 8-cylinder engines, viewing window into the engine compartment, adjustable rudders, detachable lifeboats, removable containers, rotating crane arms and a special ‘good luck’ coin
Includes rare medium azur, dark red, sand blue and sand green colored elements
Play with the model on carpeted surfaces or mount the model on the display stand
Building instructions also include interesting facts about the real ship

Ship (mounted on stand) measures over 8” (21cm) high, 25” (65cm) long and 3” (9cm) wide

Looking at the designer video, I see some upcoming set announcement designers:

  • Jamie
  • Marcos Bessa is back (and sleeping on the table)
  • We've got another 3-man design team (one of whom was in the Orthanc video)
  • A bald(ing) designer I do not recognize
  • A female designer I do not recognize

Glad your pictures are back, Winnie. I like this one.

Thanks mate :)

The CMFs can be used for SO many different situations it's insane, i could literally sit there all day and come up with new stuff, just wish i had more time available for this kinda stuff...

Also: I heard CMF series 12 will be based on that new Lego Movie, there any truth to that or is it just a rumor?

What we've heard is:

CMF12: LEGO Movie
CMF13: The Simpsons
CMF14: LEGO MMO

I'm wondering if without all those crate stickers if it would end up looking a little too bland then. Because that is going to take an entire evening applying those 140ish stickers and have them looking nice. The end model does look like it would make for a very nice display piece, though.

Continuing the Maersk tradition of throwing stickers across multiple pieces I see!

I can't tell you how much that annoys me. It probably shouldn't.

Trust me, you aren't alone. I personally hate it when sticks are spread across multiple bricks, makes it REAL annoying when you take it apart for storage. You have to keep the bricks together somehow, or risk the darn sticker coming off.

It bothers me too. I'm counting 140 stickers in this set. I think I'm going to pass on this one.

Looks like a good parts pack, but the stickers are obscene.

Granted, I'm not much of a boat collector but the stickers are an absolute "do not buy this" warning sign. The Maersk train was really nice looking but the stickers on that are equally annoying (if not slightly more egregious do to a giant one being the centerpiece of the set).

Speaking of stickers actually....is the VW sticker on the mini camper the same size as the one on the full sized set? I read a lot of complaints about the difficulty in applying the latter and how the sticker sheet was non-replaceable.

Nope, not even close. The sticker on the full size model is round, the sticker on the mini camper is square and has more than just the VW emblem on it.

And with the full size it isn't just how straight it is, but orientation since it is round. That was a high stress sticker to apply. Only other sticker near it in stress level was the Red Five Sex Wing cockpit sticker.

I have to imagine the Palace Cinema ones are at least a little bit nerve wracking, right?

I'm debating whether or not I should grab this set on Tuesday to kick off double VIP. The rational part of me knows I should wait until the 14th for the Christmas bonus set but.......

I'm right there with ya. I am trying to hold strong for the 14th though. Get a few holiday sets.

Be careful getting multiple holiday sets. Some people have reported LEGO enforcing the limit one per household rule in the VW polybag giveaway. People that made multiple online orders got it removed from their orders.

Best to make one online order and go to the stores if you want additional ones.

I must have missed something, what Christmas bonus set?

There's 2 sets that complement each other. One is given away on October 14th and other is given away on Black Friday.

To maximize the first one, make a $99 Star Wars purchase. You'll get double VIP points, clone trooper fig and the holiday set.

October 14 to 31st - free with $99 purchase

November 29th to December 2nd - free with $99 purchase

Oh wow, that makes my decision easier now. Thanks guys...now to fund this purchase...

That was my plan as well. Then Arkham for Black Friday.

Speaking of which, I owe you for the mini camper still.

I'm planning on the Old Republic Jedi Cruiser and some Advent Calendars for Brick Friday.

No rush on sending something back - I'm just enjoying the fact I don't know what I will get.

Ack. Double posting.

Update! (a good one)

I just spoke with four separate LEGO store locations, none of which are the one I visited today. The consensus is that the manager at my location misinterpreted a recent memo.

The memo in question actually listed all of the items which are no longer eligible for any discounting (such as a broken/damaged box etc.). All four of the other locations stated unequivocally that every item in the store is eligible for double VIP points.

Sorry for the scare, folks.

This is good news but does that mean no more bad box discounts? I've actually encountered an occasional good deal on those big sets because of that in a LEGO store. That's too bad.

Kmart will have a 50% toy clearance starting tomorrow. These toys were previously marked at 20% off.

I went this morning and bought:

(1x) The Mine (4204) for $47.50.
(2x) Attack on Weathertop (9472) for $28.50/ea
(2x) Urak-Hai Army (9471) for $14.00/ea

The Mine is for my nephew, while the pieces from the LOTR sets will be added to my collection.

They still had plenty of Weathertops, Uruk-Hai, Gandalf Arrives ($5), Shelob ($9), Mirkwood Spiders ($14), Attack of the Wags ($24), and Goblin King ($47.50). They also have City Fire Plane 4209 ($28.50), City Police Pursuit 4437($8), a few Star Wars planets ($5), and some Hobbit Unexpected Journey games.

I absolutely hated the VW sticker, especially since it went on a round piece barely bigger than it. I messed it up and Lego doesn't replace licensed stickers. Soured me on the set so much that I sold it.

I'm never buying a set with stickers again if I can help it. Lazy cop out design. Spend over $100 on a set and have it look shitty due to non perfectly applied stickers, nope.

Calm Killer

In all media, only true fans who consume every book, film, game, or pog collection deserve to know what's going on.
Been moving for the last 3 days now. Still not done but I will post pictures of the LEGO collection. I am thinking about building a table in the basement and rebuilding the LEGO town once we get it cleaned and sorted!

I will have to catch up on the thread later. Maersk ship looks like a mixed bag if awesome and disappointment.

Do we know what that Clone Lieutenant will look like yet?

The first Winter set looks nice enough though the second doesn't do much for me hmmm

I don't recall, but I'm assuming you don't live in North America, since the Clone Lieutenant promo has been in effect since Sept. 1st. I'm afraid I don't know the details of the promo outside NorthAm, but I thought it was going to be available in October in other regions.

Here is what the poly looks like though:

EU here... oh ok hmm i usually am not interested in non OT stuff but i happen to make exceptions for extremely good looking prequel stuff, this one looks ok but not great enough for me i guess, thanks!

That Republic Gunship on the other hand looks tempting hmm...

I've made a few more orders and I'll now have a mostly complete Imperial Flagship. I'm missing the riggings (2014), the flag, the shakos for the soldiers and the female dress, and some pieces have alternate colors while I wait for a bigger lot somewhere.

So once these four orders turn up from around Europe, I can start building!

I know it costs you (almost nothing) more to print a piece LEGO, but come on. 150 stickers to put on? Stickers over multiple pieces? What were you thinking?

How much did that set you back? But congratulations on managing to actually (nearly) all the pieces for that set. It's what got me back into LEGO and it's still my favourite set, really beautiful.

So far around 1500 SEK, give or take, not including shipping and some stray extra pieces I got with the orders. A bit less than what I wanted to pay for the complete set but then again of course I don't get the box or instructions and we'll see if some colors get a little wonky.

It also includes about 200 pieces I bought twice because I was stupid and Bricklink lagged...

Is Imperial Hotel going OOP? It seems to have disappeared everywhere around me this weekend.
I just checked the European Amazons (usually a good indication) and it seems like uk and de aren't selling them, fr has 5 left in stock and es and it seemingly have plenty left, so I'm none the wiser.

Still, Sungnyemun dissappeared real soon, and even though this is a FLW design, it's still somewhat Asian in style. Maybe this already niche market is very Western orientated. I was hoping to put off buying this one for a bit longer, but I'll keep an eye on it now.

That's not a lot more than I payed for it new, so you seemingly got a great deal on these pieces. It's definitely a whole lot cheaper than buying a complete set now.
