So what is the cheapest 1.5 TB laptop drive on the market right now?
I know people don't like to invoke it, but this shit is just 'lazy developers' material prime. They haven't figured out those blu-ray discs and streaming yet? For a cross-gen title?
Guys, you're going to be installing most everything on both systems.
man if any system really did go all digital this gen, this shit would have been a disaster. 50Gig installs? The internet in most parts of America is not ready.
Got my 1TB SSHD ready for day one! ... Maybe not for this game though.

Is there a PC game that needs that much GB?
And after seeing the PS4 footage on IGN, I'm actually interested to see what those 49GB do - because it looked like a jaggy PS3 game in that specific video
Uncompressed audio and video? I'm guessing most games this gen will have that. Which will take up a ton of space.

Are we going to see a ton of hard drive failures with so much data being written and read off these drives?
49GB? WHAT? Someone tell me I can slap a 3.5" 3TB hard drive in the PS4. It's going to be needed!
Will the PS4 be capable on managing TRIM on an SSHD or is it entirely FW based?
You wanted 1080p, you got it.
Each jaggy is 5gb. Next gen jaggies ain't nothin' to be fucked with.
BF4 + DLC probably. Think my BF3 installation is now at ~35GB.

Oh I didn't know about the video aspect, but I know audio like in MGS4 being uncompressed was a massive change to how much data was being used on the bluray.why would anybody do that? it makes no sense from a practicality or performance standpoint. 1080p blurays are compressed video.
3.5 won't fit in unless you let it lie outside on separate power, guerrilla style
I imagine it's just lazy compression to shave a few seconds off load times. Bet you each FMV is there 5 times over with 5 different languages as the sound.
i've been hoping sony would go onto detail how game installs work, but so far they havent said anything
they could easily deal with the hd storage issue by having game installs go into a certain folder or whatever, and then when you run games on disc, if there's not enough space for them to install fully it just deletes the oldest game install in the game folder automatically

WHAT? NOOOOOOOOOOOO! The PS4 is using laptop drives??????
