I have to admit I was toying with breaking the bank and buying Planetary Annihilation which is currently on as a flash deal. Sure £27 isn't much of a bargain but I really liked the look of it. But alas no single player campaign makes the game worthless to me. Oh well a bit of reading saved me £27 at least.
You're all good. None of the RU-specific Tomb Raider subs are region-locked, and the Collection sub in particular is universal.

Valdis Story's controls take a little getting used to on keyboard. I haven't played much of it, but it felt good and I was having fun.

If you want to play Guacamelee right now, then you should buy it now, yes. The offers end in an hour.
If you aren't planning on playing the game anytime soon though, then you should wait. There's a good chance the game will go on a deeper discount in the Winter sale or even before.
The sale ends in an hour, yes. Guac isn't going anywhere, though, so there's no harm in waiting until the Winter Sale unless you really want to play it now.

Nothing controversial about that. I heard Minecraft eventually added some game stuff to it but for a while Terraria was an actual game while Minecraft was a stand around and look at bad N64 graphics simulator.
I can see how a lot of people would.
I feel the opposite, but they're at different ends of the 'mining game' spectrum. Terraria is far more gamey while Minecraft is far more immersive and build-focused.

This was a pretty good sale. Almost every single game in my wishlist was on sale.

How can I play a game with a video running on top of it in fullscreen?
I'm assuming that Borderless Window mode would solve my question so long as I put the video as always on top correct?

I'm after a particular Mafia 2.
If the game were $10 rather than $15 I'd just try to get my paws on it now.
I got Civ V GOTY, bought Wonders/Korea, G&K, and BNW, and don't yet have the Guns, Germs & Steel DLC, so I have everything you have. I've also actually played the game so I can confirm that I have the content (even if the Steam store says I don't).I cross-referenced the DLC I own and the DLC provided by the Gold Edition and I already have everything (including the XP2 thing), so I guess I already have it. Only DLCs I'm missing are the Scrambled Continents, Scrambled Nations. Enhanced Steam says I'm missing Wonders of the Ancient World Scenario Pack, but the in-game DLC tab tells me I have "Scenario Pack - Ancient Wonders".
It's hard to keep track of all the DLC available for a game. Specially if you never played the game...
The Digital Deluxe content is located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\assets\DLC\DLC_Deluxe

Ooooh, the winter sale is quite close. I already spent too much money in the past few weeks on games (Damn you, Link Between Worlds! You are incredible, but that was enough money for four PC games!), plus I picked up Shadow Warrior and Gunslinger already. You make me see reason, GAF. Guacamelee will wait.

There may be an encore set of Dailies, but the sale as a whole ends in 45 minutes. I don't play enough games to roll off recommendations (though I'll note Kentucky Route Zero is still my GOTY, assuming it counts -- it's episodic and not all eps have released yet), but there is this handy thread.
I own the game, but there's a JP-specific version also. I'm still in need of people to help me out with it (surely onken isn't the only SteamGAFer who lives in Japan).

Minecraft was godlike in multiplayer even before they added the adventure mode or whatever it is called.
Not quite, the GOTY version only has the soundtrack, the DDE DLC includes making of videos as well, it's quite strange really.

burst purchases this sale for me were spelunky and bioshock infinite. too much fun!
Think of it more like an arcade game. Or even the original Super Mario Bros. Volgarr may be difficult to learn, but ultimately it's short. Designed to be beaten in a single sitting. A relatively leisurely 100% run is maybe like 30 minutes. (Speedrunners are way faster.)
This is unlike the platformers you're probably thinking of—take Super Mario World, where even tool-assisted runs clock in at just shy of 1:15. (Yoshi's Island is even longer at almost 2 hours.)
