I think it's smart. They want more people tuning into their channel and one way of ensuring that that happens is by making something big and attention grabbing and controversial. Like The Walking Dead. Something that you can't get on any other channel. Something that feels edgy and unique.

As we saw with Low Winter Sun, trying to position your new series as "The Next..." in no way guarantees that it'll be successful or critically acclaimed. Making something like Preacher should, theoretically anyway, guarantee at least the former.

Yea the topic itself will definitely get people talking, which in turn will get people most likely watching......it's going to be interesting

I read the wiki.

Genesis is more powerful than God but without a conscience, God could kill it but he wants it to love him instead.

That is the reason God is called a God of love, not because he loves things, but because he wants the love of humans and in this case Genesis, he wants them to love him by choice as opposed as by design like the angels do

Why would God have to be scared of this guy/creature whatever.
He should be able to snap his fingers and make the problem go away.

The main character should be able to make most problems go away really easily, too, but he doesn't because reasons.

It's like in Heroes when Hiro refused to fix all the problems with time travel.
