Preach. And while there's a lot of games that you listed that I also bought, I could name another 15 that you are missing from your 3rd party lists like the numerous Psikyo shmup ports for $8 a pop (a steal compared to what a physical version would cost in today's market), Cave Story+, Disgaea 5, Ikaruga, Danmaku 3, Slime-San, Sushi Strikers, Runner3, Bomberman, Owlboy, Overcooked, etc. etc. They can't. There hasn't been a system since the PS2 that's had as good as a first year as the Switch. I've got 24 games for it already.
New first party games:
Breath of the Wild (I don't care if people think it's a port it was released simulatneously on both platforms)
Splatoon 2
Arms
Super Mario Odyssey
Xenoblade 2
First party ports:
Mario Kart 8
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze
Pokken Tournament
Bayonetta 1 + 2
New third party games and exclusives*:
Mario Vs Rabbids*
Fortnite
Hollow Knight*
Steamworld Dig 2
Celeste
Street fighter Anniversary
Spectre of Torment
Sonic Mania
Third party ports:
Doom
Wolfenstein 2
Skyrim Remastered
Dark Souls Remastered
Rocket League
Stardew Valley
Steamworld Heist
Minecraft
It's just absurd to say theres no games in the first 15 months and that list isn't even exhaustive, or taking into account the next 6 months or 2019. Basicaly anyone who complains Switch hasn't got games, only plays AAA bollocks.

Is this true?
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jun/06/nintendo-to-close-european-headquarters-games only article google shows me when trying to backtrack to articles mentioning itWas there ever any proof of that? Bar the Uber slow releases thus far that seem perplexing if that’s all of Nintendo’s dev teams focussed on one machine.
Well maybe if you only have a Switch you buy everything there? I have XB1, PS4, PC and Switch. I just bought my Switch and after Mario Kart, Zelda and Splatoon 2 (sale) I was left looking through the list of games scratching my head. I want Arms. I borrowed Mario Odyssey and don't like it. Tennis looks fun? The rest are strange Japanese games, indies and ports that are better elsewhere.
I have a Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. I wouldn't buy any game multiplatform game on PS4 or Xbox over Switch because I value the portability. There's absolutely no reason to play indies on anything else. Same with the remasters really. Dark Souls remastered on PS4 is nothing special over the original. On Switch it's going to be a new experience.
A new experience like 60fps?
I always wonder if the people defending the switches third party (indie) ports/releases are the same people who attacked or defended the vita for being in the same situation.

Dont recall if there were more reported reconstructions!
I've owned a Vita since Day One and it didn't have a library nearly as diverse after the first year as the Switch currently does.I always wonder if the people defending the switches third party (indie) ports/releases are the same people who attacked or defended the vita for being in the same situation.

I don't think the two things (criticism of Vita vs defense of Switch) are in any way correlated.
This is why this year was bad:
Twitter: Smash and Nintendo are the most talked about thing of E3 2018
It's only twitter but Nintendo was the most talked about thing during E3, Smash was the most talked about new game, and the smash date announcement and Ridley announcement were the number one and two most talked about moments of E3. Just think about this... people had more to say about the release date of a Switch exclusive than the reveal of long awaited multiplatform games like Re2 Remake or DMC 5.
I totally understand people here finding this year and E3 disappointing for Nintendo, I personally agree. But I think for the vast majority of the Nintendo target audience Smash is all you need. Why invest in more exclusives this year if a ton of people are going to buy a switch for Smash (and to a lesser degree Pokemon let's go!) anyway?
A lot of the smaller Nintendo games were released fairly recently or in some cases haven't been released yet on 3DS. The Luigi's Mansion port is a 2018 3DS release. Mario & Luigi is a 2019 3DS release. I'd expect smaller releases to start on the Switch next year. I do find Nintendo's decision to not release a Switch version of these games baffling. Who doesn't want a 1080p version of Samus Returns or A Link Between Worlds. It's not like they're pumping out these games in a way we'll get tired of them like they were with the New Super Mario Bros.I am missing smaller Nintendo games in the current release shedule, titles like mario&luigi, tingle rupee rose land, luigi’s mansion , top-down Zelda, project smaller development should be working on overall I have more then enough games to play on the system but Nintendo has been quiet for a long time About new games.... and where the heck is Pikmin 4?

I would add that I liked what I've played so far, but the system has so much potential. There is à lack of some genre support. Like arpg, where is Diablo? Anything mmo also. Order and chaos 2 maybe? Then advance wars too. A tactical rpg like FF tactic. There is also no grinding online fps like cod.

Y'all talking about SRPGs and havent mentioned the ultimate version of Disgaea 5? C'mon. That is one of my favorite games in my Switch library. There are tons of RPGs on the NS. I have a bunch and just bought The Lost Child for that dungeon crawling, level grinding, experience. We have Labyrinth of Refrain coming in a couple of months for more dungeon crawling goodness. Ys 8 is next week for action RPGs. I'll admit that if you like loot grinding RPGs and MMORPGs, then you're SOL. However, there are lots of other kinds of RPGs even tactical ones like the Mercenaries games (I bought that one, but haven't played it yet). RPG guys shouldn't be hurtin' at all. Unless you're after AAA RPGs. As an RPG fan myself, I have more games to play than I have time.

Totally agree with this. The Switch only does half of its job right - it excels as a handheld but absolutely fails as a home console

Those who are getting geeked about old ass ports are so amusing and the very definition of Stockholm syndrome.
New platform = new games. Not the same old shiz at a higher pricepoint.
To me the Switch’s first year feels like the Wii Us last yet people are so full of Kool Aid that they’ll snap up any old dross to keep the dust off their console, even if it is ancient.
Either way enjoy and keep chugging that beverage, the Nintendo way!
What shmups do you recommend?I have a nice library of games so far including several shmups
Dragon Blaze, Strikers 1945 and 1945 II, Blazing Star, Danmaku 3, Ikaruga, Ghost Pilot, Zero Gunner 2, Gunbird... the list goes on and on.What shmups do you recommend?
This middling first-party support is pretty much why I've avoided Nintendo hardware since the GC. I think Nintendo is still important for the gaming industry as a whole, but as a company I can't stand how behind the times they are.
I have not picked one up yet, but i want to, but not for just 2 games at that price point too.
I especially like the part where people say Wii U sucked... while all the big games on the switch are Wii U ports (Bayonetta 1+2, Mario Kart 8, DK Country TP, Zelda BotW, and probably 1-2 others I'm missing). Strip Wii U ports away and it is extremely disappointing.

It makes sense, but it is also shortsighted for me. It is like accepting never to get anything more than their profitable niche by reinforcing that all your choices are about short term gain and that you are happy being the second console for many owners and not the primary.
Also, sure you can sell consoles using Smash as main attraction, but the big money is not in HW sales, but accessories and especially games. There should be an incentive in releasing new games for existing customers too.
Thanks for that. Mostly ports and remasters. Not knocking the quality though. Hopefully if they're selling well we might get some original stuff.Dragon Blaze, Strikers 1945 and 1945 II, Blazing Star, Danmaku 3, Ikaruga, Ghost Pilot, Zero Gunner 2, Gunbird... the list goes on and on.
You could also keep an eye open for the upcoming Psyvariar delta, Shinkhondo, and a few more than I can't recall off the top of my head.
The Switch is doing great for me. It's not my primary system, though (which is a problem since I am slowly collecting a backlog for it... I am mostly gaming on PC).
Then you didn't own a WiiU when it launched. The first year of the WiiU was terrible compared to the Switch. There was only Pikmin 3, Lego City Undercover, Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD and WöRLD for core gamers (and WöRLD came exactly 1 year after launch, so you can't even count this as a release for the first year), the rest were party games like Nintendo Land, Sing Party, Wii Sports Club, Wii Fit U and Wii Party U. The 2nd year was great, though... but you can't exactly call the 2nd year for the switch bad either, because the ports are still great games for lots of people.
The 3DS had a terrible 1st year as well.
Except you left off two major Mario games...The Switch is doing great for me. It's not my primary system, though (which is a problem since I am slowly collecting a backlog for it... I am mostly gaming on PC).

Octopath Traveler is my most anticipated game of the year, but even still, that isn't enough.
Except I don't consider Octopath same as Lost Sphere. After playing the the two demos Octopath is looking much bigger and much better game than Lost Sphere and I personally excited about Octopath as much as I'm excited for Dragon Quest XI.That is saying a lot about this year's line up for that system.
I think Octopath looks like a great game too, simply that something would be horribly wrong if I just came out and stated Lost Sphere for PS4 is my most anticipated PS4 game or something. Not saying anything is wrong with either game, simply that those are small titles through out the year that I enjoy playing, but they don't make my year, I can't even list some of those games as my top 20 in terms of top games played that year. Just smaller titles in between bigger grander titles that release. I'm sure both are great, but they have no place next to Red Dead 2, Dragon Quest XI, God Of War, Battlefield V, Divinity 2, Yakuza 2 remake etc.
I'm waiting til Animal Crossing comes to buy a Switch, I'll buy some of those other games like Octopath used online when that time comes.
The people who are calling this par for course for Nintendo or saying this is another Wii U, simply don't realize how much better they have it on Switch. There's no software drought, Nintendo's publishing at least one major game every month, the Switch is getting several major third party releases this year, multiple ones each month. Ports or not, you can't call this a software drought. This isn't like the Wii U which often went 8 months without a major release. The Switch is getting great games on a regular basis.
