I had this rosy image in my head that us Canadians were very tolerant toward other races and cultures. While the majority of country still may be the as sweet as our maple syrup, I came across something truly disturbing today.

It started with me researching the sikh temple shooter, Wade Michael Page. I noticed that he had ties with Hammerskin, a white supremacist group. I google'd the name and came across a forum known as the "Stormfront" that mentioned Hammerskin having chapters in Canada. The threads here are just unfucking believable.

After raging for a while I realized one thing: White supremacy isn't the only racist movement. There are ones for all races. This sense of inherent exceptional-ism based on race just boils my blood.

Since reasonable and decent folks would not like to associate themselves with racists, the procreating part is not the problem. However, what happens in workspace and other social spheres where say, people such as this have higher authority?

I have always said, stupid, racist and prejudiced people aren't a problem for the rest of us as long as they don't acquire position of power and substantial influence.

The universe is a place of survival of the fittest. The evolution of life started that way as well. However, today, I'd like to believe that we can overcome our evolutionary past through technology for the better. In the near future, synthetic meat should alleviate this issue where morality and appetite do not have to be at odds with each other. Of course, in the age of corporate greed where killing is business, this change may require some radical interventions to mainstream success.
