Basically, the only two things that got me hyped this year:

1. Assassin's Creed 3
2. The first two seconds I thought Mirror's Edge 2 was going to be announced before the Madden trailer.

Nintendo conference should have started with Nintendo Land, and ended with Pikmin 3.

Ubisoft definitely won, everyone else was underwhelming.

Unfortunately, it seems that the video game industry is headed in the same direction as the film industry---the big corporations pander to the lowest-common denominator by rehashing the same thing over and over again and throwing as much money as possible at the screen, while indie filmmakers/developers focus on people who actually give a damn about the medium the best they can using their meager budgets. Capitalism sucks.

Looks like the entire show has no idea who it's catering for anymore.

For the investors? Show them in private, no point in having this massive event just for a small group of individuals.

For the core gamer? Well the content isn't for them. No surprises, no major announcements, just the odd exciting trailer that might as well be posted online.

For the casual? They probably aren't watching, they arent invested enough.
