US voters “felt the Bern” when Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders rattled Hillary Clinton with his outside bid for the presidential nomination that ran her too close for comfort. Now his UK-based big brother is offering British voters the chance to “feel the Larry”.

Larry Sanders is standing for the Green party in the by-election to replace David Cameron in the rock-solid Conservative seat of Witney in Oxfordshire.

The former social worker, who has managed to retain his Brooklyn accent, is currently the party’s health spokesperson, and last year came fifth in a race for another seat in the county, Oxford West and Abingdon.

Depends on how you measure it. By percentage of the vote they were 6th in the GE, but by seats held they're eleventh.
