And because of the extra Live Another Day scene of Tony breaking out of prison, thats obviously whats going to happen.

This. Tony needs his chance at redemption.
I wouldn't mind, gives the series some fresh legs and more characters working together instead of Bauer enters the room. He could still be in it, but a lot less.
I think they should even do another series from scratch in a similar vein which isn't based on 24hrs but still CT. Homeland is okay but room for more.

Bauer has already been declared medically dead twice so far and he got better both times. I think its safe to say hes not going to die.

I will only be okay with this if Sarah Walker is the protagonist and if they bring back Bauer as a plot twist for the last third of the season.
It wouldnt be a plot twist.
I kinda get the feeling a lot of people posting here don't know what happened at the end of s9 or that Tony Almeida has been bought back again.
Its stunningly obvious what s10 will be about.

Riight, because that's what happened in S6? Same situation. People expect Bauer to get out of his situation when the new season start or for the season to be about him getting out of it, which would actually be refreshing.

Jack Bauer is in a russian prison, last seen at the end of Season 9. Tony Almeida was seen at the end of Season 9 being helped out of prison by an associate who then made a phone call to someone who made it clear there is a big job coming up, the date of that scene tying up with Bauer's incarceration in russia

It could be a plot twist if the season's plot does not apparently revolved around what happened at the end of S9, and if the crew behind the show completely avoids talking about Bauer or if they downright lie to the fans.

They already killed FemBauer, Kate was an alright fill in.

No. I'm saying ending of S9 didn;t give any indication that what you're suggesting will have to happen. Bauer already was in the same situation before and it didn';t stop him from being a lead.
I don't think Bauer is the only reason people watch the show. The like the silly political conspiracies, the action, the music, the terrorism theme, etc. I think a lot of people would watch a season without Jack as the main character, the question is whether the writers could do it without rehashing his personality. They already showed Kate going rogue/being tortured etc so they are pointing her down the same path but they need to make sure she stays distinct.
I don't think Tony would work as the main character, Carlos Bernard is not a good enough actor to lead the cast.

He's under custody of the Russians - not sure if it's prison, torture or just chillin'.
He came back from the dead in Season 7, worked in a kickass A Team with a bearded badass bill buchanan, Jack and Chloe and then went a bit crazy, tried to blow jack up in order to kill the dude behind the dude behind Charles logan who was kinda but not indirectly responsible for his wife's death. Bauer was like lol fuck off tony and he just got arrested instead
After S9, a special ten minute short on the blu ray release showed Tony in prison six years later, chillin like a boss, he cries a bit. He then attacks this busty woman attorney and steals her glasses, shes like dude wtf perv fuck. But really she and tony are proper cool and the glasses are actually google glass but better with prison blueprints, youporn and shit on them and tony breaks free to live another day and appear and star in Season 10 of the Groundbreaking Television Series "24", exclusively on FOX

They can pull this off imo, especially if they get Aaron Pierce, Chloe, Mandy, Belcheck and Kate Morgan involved with Tony too.
Just think of the possibilities for badassery. And then just when you thought itd never happen...boom, they rescue bauer in episode 10 and he joins the team for the finale.

I still don't think a Bauer free season would work, but if they made him a character in the background (ie: shown struggling while being held captive) while the focus is on other characters throughout the season then that could be ok.
There is definitely potential, but realistically they're not going to pull in all those characters. There's a much higher chance of a shitty new character over Mandy.
Of course, but I'm just being a fanboy
Tony, Kate, Belcheck, Chloe and even Aaron would be sure things for a S10.
