:lol On both accounts.

Y'know what, you're right. It's insane. Both GT5P and Forza 2 have killer weather effects and better looking tracks, and you're the resident authority on ProStreet because you've been playing it for months...:lol

I've seen enough of Pro Street to know that the comparison is ridiculous. As far as PGR4 goes, people continue to not realize there's a drastic difference between city tracks and race courses and continue to want to compare PGR4's city tracks to GT5P's race tracks. Here's what GT5's city tracks look like.

You've got that running at 60fps and 16 cars on that track.

the big difference between the two games probably lies in color usage and lighting, and offscreen shots don't represent those things accurately. they're, uh...really kind to forza

It doesn't look that good in the demo. :lol The grass in that picture is higher res than the one in the GT5 demo. I just threw that pic up there for shits and giggles.

well maybe its because the cars look so damn realistic they make the environments look bad.

Sho Nuff really kind to Xbox games? What, noooo waaayyy!

well, it's not as if he's warping the rays of light as they travel from his tv to his camera -- it's just that the darkened look of his photos does good things for forza's videogamey palette, and does bad things for gt's relatively naturalistic one

So, where are the car comparison pictures? I suspect it is taking quite some time to get the most flattering Forza 2 shots and the most unflattering GT5:p demo shots.

Might as well do it while you can since GT5 is going to have a damage model.

Eeeeh. KZ might have said that but....

He even said realtime weather effects were planned for GT4. Wet tracks were added but nothing more than that. I also believe a drag race mode was to be added to GT2. The cars were added. Not the drag mode.

I'm sure damage is going to be in GT5. I wouldn't be surprised however that it will be added in some limited way.

Both look great. I actually prefer the lighting in Forza, but my nod goes to GT5p with regards to car modelling. Forza's cars have additional geometry, in the sense that there are swapped-portions of each vehicle for damage modelling.

As GT5 will have because they went on to say that every panel in those cars are individual as well... Probably damage like F2...

Nothing like this probably... You can even see the motor getting shoved back into the firewall based on seeing the shaker hood scoop jut back at first, that's insane the attention to detail...

Of course it'll be limited, much like it's limited in F2. That's teh rules they've got to follow.

there is no doubt that gt5s car models are superior.
the question is, if nice looking car models are everything that counts in a racing sim.

Screw visible damage if they don't have time to add it-- they need realistic damage effects (meaning even if your car looks perfect it doesn't drive perfectly) and they need to have some sort of realistic crash physics model.

If you crash in Forza 2, you really like ruin a ton of shit. Like it impacts your race. In GT it does nothing really. They need to at least copy the structure of Forza's damage system even if they don't carry over the physical effect.

That is not really what I meant. More like some production cars and racing cars have damage and most production cars don't. I want to be optimistic but it is my line of expectations with this series.

You could be right, but if it is limited to those cars they're going to have a lot of damage.

I have been accused and banned for less offensive trolling than I have seen in this thread.

I do not understand the moderation system on this website.

I much prefer Forza 2 over GT5, but that's because of the physics (ie gameplay). GT5 will end up looking prettier, that's their MO. The GT games are normally some of the best looking ones when they come out -- and yes, the car models are incredible this time around.
You don't race, you don't know physics, so please, sew your mouth shut with a rusty needle so as to never bother us with this crap again.

You drive a real car, you have an idea how a car should behave.

You don't have to be a professional soccer player to know how to kick a ball and how the ball should behave afterwards etc.

Sho Nuff has a shit video system. We were watching a porn Blu-ray together once and it looked like a DVD.

Also, I hear Sho Nuff dresses like a zombie and attacks photographers on weekends.

GT5 blends well from the cars to the environment - everything is made to look 'real'.

In Forza everything looks nice on its own, but doesn't blend well. You have car models that attempt 'real' with environments that look 'good' but don't blend with the cars at all, making it look less real.

In any case, NFS:pS will be more fun than either. :)

I totally agree. Overall Forza 2 does look very good on its own and shouldn't be criticized so much IMO.
