Great album, but Kanye's best moments don't match Kendrick's. Never heard anything from Kanye as impressive as DNA or XXX or Duckworth.
Duckworth isn't that impressive and neither are those other tracks except maybe the after beat switch on DNA.
it is overproduced, feature heavy and unfocused

but my favorite albums are 808s & yeezus so i understand i am in the minority here
808s, Yeezus, and MBDTF are my favorites, people who like those two generally love MBDTF as well so if you're in the minority it's for that.
What's going on here? Pound for pound? I can't tell if you're serious.
Kendrick isn't Kanye.
Only competes with him on TPAB.

My top 3 Kanye album are:
1. MBDTF
2. 808's
3. Yeezus

Seems weird to me that you can like those two but not MBDTF.

Kendrick need to stop playin and announce an extension of the tour already. First the Golden 1 Center announces that he's coming to Sacon Aug 13 on Mon, then takes it down later that day. Then Kendrick's site lists Sac on the 13th, and San Jose on the 12 of Aug, then takes it down the next day.

Stop playin breh. I'm tryna get a ticket

.

That's correct. Kendrick is the far superior mc. That's irrefutable.

Four pages in and this a Kanye top three albums thread, lol. Something Something College dropout, late registration, and graduation.

Can't discuss hip hop on GAF because Ye stans ruin every thread.

Embarassing.

I mean, every single time 😅

DAMN. is fantastic, congratulations to Kung Fu Kenny. My most listened piece of the year so far, and up there with his previous work. XXX, Duckworth and DNA are the standouts, but the whole thing is just superb.

lol Kanye hasn't released anything worthwhile since MBDTF.

This album is excellent, might like it more than TPAB. DNA, ELEMENT, XXX, DUCKWORTH...so many great tracks. Deserves all the sales.

This is one of the best albums to ever be created in HipHop and it always intrigues me to say it because I never expect classic records to be made in todays music industry climate.

But Kendrick is the truth. He has a clear concept, message and image. Its been consistent from the beginning. And he actually has a motive to bring up the rap game and help realize how they have their hands on the culture and how powerful that is.

Id call him a figurehead of our community for the modern era.

Drake is just a sing song motherfucka

Kendrick still only has 1 good song

in no order albums better than DAMN
and TPAB

Why everyone acting like I ain't fuck with Kenny? GKMC and To Pimp a Butterfly are two of the best albums of the 2010s. How Much a Dollar Cost one of the best tracks ever made, period.

Nothing will take away how much of an unprecedented comeback and second wind that MBDTF was. It was the perfect album that Ye could've put out back then. So Appalled is still one of my favorite tracks he's ever put out.

I don't think it's as great in it's present tense though, especially once you realize that, back then before we "knew" what kind of person Kanye was and what he wanted out of life, his figurative Dark Fantasy came across as an incredibly self-conscious takedown on the tabloid fodder lifestyle that media tried to paint of him. But now with Yeezus, The Life of Pablo and his entire social media presence, it's kind of hard not to look at MBDTF and see that everything he raps about is something presented without irony, without self awareness and is essentially a self-congratulatory biography of things he actually wanted out of life - and things he actually doubled down on and ended up fulfilling.

Kind of the opposite of DAMN when you think about it; since Kendrick consciously evokes a destructive, contradictory side to him that counters preconceived notions by embodying them and slowly tearing them down - but unlike MBDTF there's no pretense that suggests Kendrick is as egotistical as the tracks on here would suggest. At least not currently anyway.

Really? Kanye has made some of the most memorable music in all of hip hop. Street Lights, Through the Wire, Devil in a New Dress, Gone, We Major, Blood on the Leaves... man I could keep going for a long time with songs as good or better than Kendrick's best. Don't let Kanye's personality make you forget he is a once in a generation talent.

MBDTF is my favorite album of all time, but no. Kendricks discography is on pace to run laps around kanye's.
He is about halfway to the point where that conversation can be had. There's a lot of work left for him to do.

I surely hope you mean the G.O.O.D. Friday version of devil in a new dress and not the album release version
